Balitrees is a haven filled with lovely people. The yoga and meditation is invigorating and the cultural activities uniquely tie you to the wonderful village in Bali. I will take with me many sweet memories from this place and hope to come back soon.
Decided to go for a yoga and meditation retreat and opted for Balitrees. It was about 2-hour car ride from the airport. I am happy with their facilities, from dining area to accommodation to the Yoga Centre. I think they have tried to retain their original and natural environment but yet meet the expectations of international customers in terms of cleanliness and connectivity. So I give them 'Excellent' in that aspect. As for their prpgrammes, I would rate them 'Excellent' as well because it was really great. From experienced yoga and meditation masters to activities we city dwellers and Y generation didn't have the chance to experience or even seen. Things like how to use natural resources to make offerings, how to make coconut oil, Malay martial arts, cycling in natural environment, hiking, rice padi fields and more...
One of the best experiences was the practice of yoga at the beach. It was really awe inspiring and spiritual. I am glad I went and I will definitely go back with friends.
Great yoga retreat! If you are looking for a total wind down from your busy life, this is the place for you. My husband and I had a very relaxing time and totally enjoyed yoga twice daily along with the village activities. Friendly, caring staff, who tried their best to accommodate your needs. Will definitely visit Balitrees Yoga Retreat again.
Yoga is awesome to maintain our good health and flexibility of our body. But yoga can give us much more! It is also an amazing way to keep a clear mind and positive spirit. This is why I chose to participate in yoga retreat in Balitrees. For five days I enjoyed two yoga sessions per day (at 9.30am and 3pm) under the supervision of friendly Balinese trainers who speak English well.
Balitrees Yoga Retreat is established and managed by the local community in Sesandan village - Tabanan Bali. Their warm, friendly and service oriented attitude is amazing. They took care of the guests professionaly, but at the same time they also gave the feelings that they were family. The facilities are relatively simple but comfortable (clean room, good bathroom, AC, hot water, free wifi etc) This local effort to create a successful 'DESA WISATA' (Tourism Village) is aligned with tourism development in Indonesia and therefore must be supported
The style taught is called Balinese Watukaru Yoga and Meditation. This focuses on practicing original flows such as the Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskara) and Moon Salutation (Candra Namaskara). The main goal in practicing these flows - not only do the fancy poses or Asanas - is to awakening the seven Chakras in our body. The beauty and serenity of the surrounding really helped me to fully enjoy practicing the spiritual yoga.
I certainly will return to this excellent yoga retreat. I have found a spiritual path and family there ... thank you all Balitrees staffs: Pak Adi, Mbak Arta Puspita Dewi, Pak Made, Mbak Putu Lisna, Mbak Marie ... and our trainer Bu Khrisna.
Great cultural experiences ! Amazing location, very calm, peaceful and beautiful. Very friendly staff and locals. if You are looking for a natural retreat with incredible acces to Balinese culture and yoga practice, this is the place for you.
