I had the best week at Lucero Surf Vacations. Prior to departure Marieke had reached out to ensure our arrival went smoothly and created a group chat with everyone staying the week at the hotel. From that moment on we felt very taken care of. The hospitality, was superb. The hotel itself is stunning. The aesthetic is calming, simple and chic. Definitely an elevated boutique surf hotel experience, and I absolutely loved that. Surf lessons were organized throughout the week, and Jared is a very gifted teacher. It was the best surf lessons I have had to date. I really appreciated that he listened to my goals and pushed me in a safe way to advance my skills. I can't recommend Lucero enough. Thank you for an amazing week and I cannot wait to be back soon!

Recently spent 10 days at Lucero and had such a memorable experience that I am already thinking about a return trip! The surf instruction is the best in Santa Teresa, the accommodation is stellar and the breakfast each day is authentic and wonderful. Jared and Marieke (owners of Lucero) do a phenomenal job and truly provide the guest with a 5 star experience. Each day, Jared would take us to a new beach to surf and would give us private lessons with top-notch equipment. Save yourself the time and effort and don't look elsewhere. Trust me, this is the best combination of surf and upscale accommodation in Santa Teresa.

Highly recommended for anyone who wants to have the best time improving their surfing skills and meeting wonderful people. Whether you are travelling solo, as a couple of with a group of friends, good time guaranteed! Jared and Marieke go out of their way to make you comfortable and I have seen great improvement in my surfing skills. I only wish I could have stayed longer. I hope to go back soon! Amazing stay! Beautifully located with everything from beach to bars, restaurants and groceries in walkable distance. Friendly and helpful staff at the hotel. Exceptional clean for the area. If you are planning on learning how to surf Jared (owner) and his crew are the most skilled surf teachers I have ever encountered. And I have been to lots of places to compare. They are very experienced and will make sure to get the best out of every single student taking part of the lesson. Thanks again for everything, I’ll be back for sure :)

Lucero was our favorite bed and breakfast retreat, ever. It is relaxed and refined and, especially if you stay for a week, it comes to feel like you're a part of the community. The aesthetic was exactly how I imagine my dream home in a tropical paradise -- simple decor, thoughtful small touches, linen sheets, and greenery galore, even inside our room. Staying for a week allowed us to take advantage of the 4 included surf lessons. The owners+coaches go out of their way to take you to the best waves each day. We would absolutely return to Lucero.

Lucero is really a special place. You can feel all intention that Jared and Marieke had put into it. The atmosphere is romantic yet raw. The place definitely attracts similar minded people which makes for a great community experience. The rooms are very spacious and well designed. You know you’re in the right place when you see a hammock on the balcony. The staff maintains everything very well. The team are just really lovely people. The package we got was 4 lessons (can add more) which was ideal for beginners, Jared and his crew, José and Daniel really challenge you. They are honestly of the best instructors one can have and I have tried surfing in several places. It says a lot about the experience given we went during rainy season, and we still had an absolutely amazing time. You will be challenged and you will progress with time, the lessons they gave were well planned and meant to help people really improve day by day, get ready to be sore if you’re a true beginner! You’ll be hooked. All there’s left to say is, don’t hesitate and come already. You’ll hopefully meet amazing people from around the world and you might even catch your first wave.

Lucero has become our favorite place to stay in Santa Teresa. The location is central in town and easy to walk to everything if you don't have a quad. Beautiful rooms, comfortable beds and pillows with lux linen sheets. The homemade typical Costarican breakfast every morning is the perfect start to the day after an early morning walk on the beach. The service is phenomenal and everyone is so lovely to talk with. We love everything about Lucero ✨

Absolutely loved staying here. A great place to relax and unwind while learning a new hobby. The surf lessons were great for beginners to intermediate surfers. The staff members did an awesome job of understanding my skill level and making improvements every day. The hotel was very clean and modern. Everything I could I’ve asked for! Would highly recommend, by far the best price with the best accommodations. We will be coming back!

We had the pleasure to do a surf week at Lucero and to sleep in the beautiful apartment. Marieke is a very kind host, very dedicated to her place ! She’s very avalaible for all your questions. She made Lucero a heaven of peace, surrounded by nature. On the surf point of view, we were complete beginners. The instructors have been so great to teach us ! We couldn‘t be more happy with our stay at Lucero. The place itself is just lovely, very comfy and stylish at the same time, we met amazing other guest and had a great surf-experience with all instructors and also by ourselfs (beach is really nearby). What even stould out is the outstandig support from the owners, who were there for us all the time when it comes to organisational questions, and the breakfast-buffet was a 10/10 ;-)
