Dhamma Kalyana Vipassana Meditation Centre

It's an excellent place if you want to practice meditation. Their sessions are 10 -20 days long and you need to register for them on dhamma website. You are provided separate rooms with attached washroom. Their food is really excellent. Doesn't matter if you are a newbie or pro in meditation you should visit this place. Very peaceful and soothing.

The easiest way ever discovered to live a happy and contented life is taught over here. The human mind has immense potential, irrespective of its origin. And the key to unlock and train this wonderful system called BRAIN can be casted here. Rest of the things in the universe, will then simply be accepted as the derivatives of this brain function. Simply ... superb environment , the words can ever describe!!!

Amazing location, nice architecture, big Pagoda and Vipassana. Nothing can be better than this, in this cosmos. Vipassana is must, to do, for everyone. Peace of mind and changing the fabric of creation to inculcate more and more peace, harmony and happiness. Thanks to the Trustees of the center and centre is expanding good.

*Some tips for those who are attending this course for the first time* ¶ How To Reach at low cost :- From Kanpur Central Railway Station take a taxi to a place called RamaDevi. He will take ?10. From Ramadevi again take a taxi or a local bus to Dhauri Ghat turn ,will also take ?10. Then from the main road you can take the taxi or you can take a lift from someone as there is less vehicle. Finally you will reach the Dhamma Kalyana. ¶You can reach upto 5:00 pm in the evening. ¶Avoid making friends there. As it will be then difficult for you to be remain silent and follow Arya mon as they called it.

According to my experience. I dubbed my time in Vipassana meditation as my ten day stint in “solitary confinement.” It’s how it felt at the time. And even in retrospect this intense mediation course as one of my wackier decisions. It’s one of the most structured and regimented forms of meditation. The rules are strict and the entire process is tightly control. This course was the hardest thing I have ever voluntarily chosen. More than six months later, I was endlessly thankful that I was able to complete it, that I had the support and stamina during the course finish.

I attended 10 days Vipassna Course at Dhamma Kalyana Kanpur .Vipassna was a meditation technique which was discovered by Lord Buddha. Many people suggested me to that this is a wonderful meditation course. Burmese used to believe that after 2500 years of Buddha, Buddhism will again spread in India and it happened Dr. Ambedkar on 14 October 1956 embraced Buddhism with more than half million people and from there it started to spread Buddhism. And a vipassna teacher who was sent from Burma, S.N. Goenka taught Vipassna in India. Myanmar kept Vipassna in it's original form and maintained it's purity. Goenka said that neither Buddhism was an offshoot of Hinduism neither Buddha was the incasof any hindu god like 9th incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

The place is clean, serene and safe with all possible comforts to effectively practice meditation. The staff is very helpful, especially, the manager Mr. Ashok Sahu. The place attracts a lot of peace seekers from all parts of the world. The place would be good choice for those who might have unplanned visit as the centre generally provides acceptance to your application in a day.

I was here for meditation and will strongly recommend everyone to give this meditation technique a try. It was one of the best times of my so far life. The helpers, Assistant teachers and staff are themself vipassana meditators. All living and fooding are free of cost that is provided by previous vipassana students. Starting from 4 am in the morning one has a busy day meditating 10 hours till 9 pm with breaks in between. Also, all form of communication is terminated during the span for the best of the student.

Nicely built with every facility from single room to pagoda, it has 4 dhamma hall,hall no 1 for old students discourse, hall no 2 for group meditation, dhamma hall no 3 for multi language discourse. It has 2 male residence blocks in block A on ground floor there is room no from 1 to 31 and on first floor its 32 to 64 and block B as follows unfortunately I couldn't get to the female residence so can't tell you about it but over all it's a nicely built dhamma hall.
