The best place in the world to study yoga. This extremely important centre of excellence internationally, is for the study of Iyengar Yoga, where research and daily teaching, is led by the Iyengar family alongside seniour yoga teachers, founded by BKS Iyengar in honour of his wife Ramamani.
No return communication via email... No updates on Google... Website says all the great things, but where to learn them if any sort of communication is not possible with the institute...? Very bad experience....
I had visited once for enquiry about yoga class. So can't tell more about it. I felt strange because the class is held only once per week. They have full batches all the time. Mostly foreigners reserve the spots (Pay more than Indians). they asked me to write my details in big waiting list. This center is now run by Late Iygenar yogi's son Prashant Iyengar. You can find tutors that teach here..
Yoga guru B. K. S. Iyengar’s home and studio. It’s a must visit place on your Pune itinerary. Practice yoga here, if you have the time. Learn Iyengar-style of yoga from the place where it was born.
It's quite old institute and one of the best yoga classes. They don't mix yoga with any other thing... it's not like the one you learn in gyms... It's authentic. The teachers are friendly and the place is good. The only thing is they have admission only once in a year during may month and the queue is VERY LONG so try going there early or else wait for another year.
If ever there was a temple for Yoga, this is it. I've always felt an awe and humility when visiting RIMYI. I can feel Guruji hanging around, sometimes stretching, sometimes just sitting silently in the library.
I went to Pune in July 2015 - what a fabulous experience.. Such a great experience to really immerse yourself into the subject of Yoga. Daily classes and access to fantastic teachers and the Library.. so much information and such generosity filled the practise room every day.. Can't wait to go back.
A true temple of yoga wisdom. I just wished that for a visitor there could be a bit more clarity on what areas you can or not go. I inadvertedly climbed the stairs towards the practice room, and took a picture. Maybe I was too wondered of where I was, never meant to be disrespectful. An instructor came VERY agressively to me and demanded yelling to delete it which I immediately did. I never experienced such a situation, He truly treated me like a criminal for taking a photo, and I found awkward to experience that inside somewhere I deeply respect. That felt really bad.
A truly wonderful place to learn Yoga with amazing teachers and vibes. Wish I could do more than once class a week as a beginner.

Old student of Iyengar yoga but still no value for its people Paid full advance for December 2021 to April 2022 class , the class is once a week. However I got extremely sick and the doctor advised me not to do Yoga for a few months. I mailed Iyengar institute saying I won't be able to attend the classes, and requested them to adjust my class in the upcoming June month, however they are least bothered to reply and didn't adjust me for another batch. This institute has become extremely commercialized and involved in the money making business. Please folks don't register with this class, look out for other options available, Yoga is meant to be for people's well being but here they will make you sick, asking money.

Pathetic and disrespectful behaviour of the guard. Nobody picks up the call and the website claims that the institute remains open, which in actual case, is permanently shut ! Kindly put some efforts to upgrade your website on google and showcase the real information. Be more responsible towards people who have faith in the so called the most disciplinary institute in India.

Maui Yoga Path
This is my 11th trip to study yoga at the Iyengar Yoga Institute. There are six classes per week and a three hour self practice. This is the best yoga school in the world. The Iyengar's are world renouned teachers and the senior teachers are all excellent. Having this experience is the jewels in my life!

Learning at Iyengar institute is like worshipping The Patanjali, The B.K.S Iyengar Sir. Teachers r so good that do not feel to miss any class. Here we learn Yoga in the most ethical and accurate way with no adulteration of latest fancy useless Yoga trends.

The only place on earth where yog is taught with a process,technically and keeping to the core of Indianess, culture and knowledge. The abode to learn the essence of Patanjali अष्टांग yog from most evolved and enlightened living gurus. One must learn techniques of Pranayam from the Iyengars if at all they are serious of perfecting It. MUST GO FOR IT 500 STARS to it.
