Punyah Yoga offers Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga residential Teachers’ Training Courses (TTC) located in the valleys of the Himalayan Mountains in the district of Tapovan, Rishikesh in India.
The school follows the ancient Gurukala system, a traditional Indian practice where the teachers and students will live in the same place for the duration of the course. This way, students can closely interact with our dedicated teachers and staff that have immersed themselves in the yogic lifestyle.
The curriculum of our programme is extensive enough to cover both theory and practice. The curriculum stems from an ancient teaching principle (Guru Parampara) where knowledge and theory are passed down from a Guru to a disciple through thousands of years. Devotional practices, genuine to the tradition of India, constitute an integral part of the course.
We have prepared and carefully structured the school and course to be optimal and conducive for reflective learning. We have set the school around stunning natural beauty -- away from the distractions of city living. The school offers vegetarian/vegan food, prepare a fitting space for learning and encourage daily yoga and meditation.
A sincere desire to learn and openness to yogic techniques is required – basic knowledge of yoga postures and philosophy is helpful, but not essential.
Upon completion of the course, Graduates will be given an Internationally-Recognized Certificate as issued by the Yoga Alliance for the 200 Hours Standard for Registered Yoga Schools (RYS).
