Amruthamgamaya Yoga and Ayurvedic Village Retreat

Best month of my life! Lovely people, the best food, peaceful surroundings and Subhash is the most inspiring and wonderful yoga teacher I could have ever dreamt would teach me for my yoga teacher training course.

I booked Amrutham as a last minute get away. Vandana was super responsive to my emails and requests during the booking process. She arranged for a pick up from the airport which was very convenient. Stayed here for 5 nights as an all inclusive package. This included an air conditioned room, all meals and Ayurvedic massage treatments each day. The room is very basic but comfortable, the meals absolutely delicious and the massage treatments awesome!! There is a yoga session offered each morning which was a nice way to start the day. They offer a meditation session in the evening which is relaxing and spiritual. I enjoyed interacting with the other guests during meal times. The resort is located in the midst of a village so one does hear the usual sounds of day to day activity. The air conditioned room helped block out most of those sounds. Mahesh took excellent care of each guest and was attentive to specific requests. The ladies who cooked the meals did an amazing job and I relished each item as well as the variety. The rooms were very clean, but the linen could be better. Especially the towels which were quite threadbare.

Such fond memories from this place. I came to stay in February, desperate for some rest and heat and generally some time out from a chilly hectic winter in the uk . I was warmly welcomed with petals scattered and sweet incense filling the air. The room was squeaky clean and a huge big bed with plenty of room and though the authentic dark wood it didn’t seem dark like some places . The staff were more than happy to help with any questions. It became like family. I feel so so lucky to have found Amrutham. So much so that within a few days of my Ayurveda and yoga package I already decided to return at the end of the month to complete my stay in kerala. The food was just delicious , masses of it!! Always fresh and accommodating to all dietary needs and within the realms of what your dosha requires. The girls that made everything so spotlessly clean , sweeping and making me feel well looked after . My delightful warm hearted therapist Sunita was faultless. I felt incredibly well cared for. I miss that . Vandana; ever helpful and warm hearted . The yoga was thorough . Kind. Complete with both asana , pranayama and meditation . I will return again and would recommend this place for anyone that wants to step away . Thank you team Amrutham. I’m ever grateful x

Amrutham is a very special and peaceful place to stay. We booked an all-in treatment for one week and had an amazing time. The yoga was a challenge but very rewarding in the early mornings, the massages/treatments were heavenly, the vegan food was fresh and tasty and the house and its surroundings very relaxing. But most special was the staff who made our stay feel like being at home instead of in a hotel. We made beautiful memories, thank you Amrutham.

This place is lovely and nestled away from the city crowds and noises. You can easily spend a few weeks in peace here :) The staff at Amrutham Gamaya are absolutely delightful! Everyone is super friendly, cheery and professional. The massages especially are fantastic and the highlight of the experience. Food, rooms etc. are also great and frankly we do not have any complaints about the place. It is located not too far from Kovalam beach and little shops, restaurants etc. if you want to try something different. The staff at AG will take full care of you during the stay and you'll almost feel like you are at home. They also have yoga in the mornings, although we went only for the ayurveda. I definitely recommend staying here if you are spending time in Trivandrum and want a cozy retreat!

This was a great experience being there for almost a month - and want to honor the staff making the stay and demanding yoga training in the retreat center as painless (also due to the extra extended massage ayurvedic package I took ) as possible. The food, treatment and all the surrounding area - very nice pool, and beautiful trees around were tranquil beauty. Great location in not so far proximity from Kovalam beach and surfing area there. In general peaceful setting - not quite in March/April however, hence the temples festive. I wish we had attended this once or twice, as per the organized stay, but we had a couple of outside trip/experiences as well and the staff was very accommodating and helpful with those. The focus was very much on yoga and there is not much I can say. Everybody takes from this kind of training what they are ready for. My purpose was to really build foundation and dive into practice - which I very much own myself after this experience since then thanks to yoga teachers and helpful co-students. Great ayurvedic consultation which I benefited from a lot for a time being. As for developing practice this time would probably pick other places. Was great for the time being and as a foundation for me. However, advanced yogis also took classes at the same training and the variety of the group was managed well at some point. The point for me was to get the experience in the land of the origins of this great holistic tradition. Ayurvedic treatment was terrific. Clean, nice, spacious rooms and nice architectural setting. Wish to be back one day. I recommend for organized stays, retreats and ad hoc stays - 8 rooms in total makes it cosy place.

This is a lovely place with good food and superb ayurvedic massage which I felt needed. It was near the beach but out of the way enough to be very quiet. Best of all it was run by very kind and friendly people. I'd highly recommend it.

I had a great experience here! Spent almost an entire month there and only have good words about the classes and specially about the teachers!! You can learn and improve your Yoga skills quickly with Anoop! Plus the food was delicious!

Selfishly I’d prefer this to be my “secret “ place. However, it would be such a shame not to visit and experience the hospitality and kindness shown to all the guests. I went on the yoga package, daily treatments with full board. I stayed for 28 days and never had the same meal twice. Yoga and the therapies were brilliant as was the food and all the staff. Lovely pool. I was so sad to leave and booked for next year!!

I have visited this place during a little journey in Kerala and I founded everything really nice. The family that runs the hotel and all their staff are really superlative. Food is great and Ayurvedic treatments very professional and made with heart. I truly recommend it to everyone wants to enjoy the true Kerala hospitality. Thanks guys, I hope to see you again very soon!

From the welcome in the early hours to my final departure, I could not fault this retreat. The food was splendid, the staff very friendly and engaging, nothing was too much trouble. The surprise cake on Christmas day (totally unexpected). The treatments were out of this world. the yoga was fantastic, following the early morning wake-up call with a cup of refreshing tea. I arrived back in Scotland totally relaxed and refreshed and will return no question. Thanks to all the staff across the retreat for the welcoming treartment

From the moment I arrived ( very late into the evening) I was welcomed with kindness , care and smiles. Wonderful treatments and a great daily schedule to really reset things. I spent 12 wonderful days and hope I will be able to make this a an annual event as I feel soooo good. Thank you to vandana and all for making it such a wonderful Christmas and new year . Loved every minute spent there . Felt like a new me after coming back from there. The Ambience, , the Yoga sessions, delectable Kerala food and of course the Ayurvedic massage do the wonders. A 'must go' place .

This is the 2nd time am visiting this place in the last one year ! Honestly Overall Excellent expereince ! Right from the time we were picked up from the Airport till we left , would rate the service awesome ! Something makes me go back to Amrutham again and tried to find out the answer ! Total SILENCE and the TOTAL RELAXATION coupled with Yoga/Ayurveda treatments !The vegetarian food is awesome ! They have an excellent Ayurveda doctor for consultations and the treatment by well experienced and trained massagers ! Must compliment them ! For all the treatment and service , the rates are very competitive and certainly a place to visit and Rejuvenate !

I stayed at this place for a week & was one of my most refreshing break. This place is calm & green, where you can find your "me" time, away from fast paced routine life. Traditional look adds to its beauty & the rooms are very clean.We thoroughly enjoyed the morning yoga session & that was one of the best way to start our mornings. Food is simple, delicious, vegetarian food. Everyday is different menu. Traditionally prepared "Paaysum" was awesome. Staff out here always with smiling face, are ready to help you. Sateesh, Mahesh & Prajit helped us out in every possible ways, right from serving food, arranging transport, medicines, making our stay as comfortable as it could be. Vandana was very prompt in responding to all our queries. Ayurvedic massage experience was beyond words, you should go for it.Felt so relaxed after these massages. In this one week we never felt the need of sight seeing & spent all our time in resort. One of improvement point is wifi, it was not best in room, but better in common areas. This might not be preferable place if you plan see lot of touristic place in kerela. It is close to Thiruvanthpuram airport, which is not well connected as Cochin airport is.
