Ideal Ayurvedic Resort

I spent a month at Ideal & had a fantastic time. I went on my own, but easily made friends because of the homely & relaxed atmosphere. Manager is priceless & I am sure my first trip to India wouldn't have been half as good without him there helping me to arrange outings & travel. The treatments were fantastic, the accommodation was fantastic, & the food..... it was the tastiest month of my life! It feels more like you are a part of a family; this is missing from the larger commercial resorts.

Time seems to fly, and it almost seems ages ago since I left my dear Kerala home and the perfect holiday in 'God's Own Country'... I just read in a magazine on holidaying in Kerala, that it was Paul McCartney – ex-Beatle – that once said about Kerala: ""It's truly God's own country"", and that the Kerala Tourist Board has used this slogan since… Interesting, I thought…I realize, I have only been back home for hardly three weeks, but it seems much longer… Well, I have been back to work since the day after I arrived, and I have been quite busy since… And I realize I feel extremely well these days… It is such a change compared to when I first visited 'God's Own Country' and *Ideal almost five years ago, and this I thought I wished to communicate to you, Christudas & the Ideal Team… I really experience a great sense of mental and physical strength these days as well as a general sense of well being… This actually dawned on me already when I was in 'Ideal', and upon returning home, it stands out very clearly… It was such a good holiday – a bit short – short but sweet! I must tell you how thankful I am that I could have this fantastic and healing time at your place! I hope you are well and that many others have found their way to you. I think one of my friends is on her way now. Fredrica Mars, take good care of her. I operated my knee two weeks ago. They took away the old damaged knee and put in a new one. It is a quite common operation here and everything went well. I was awake and all the time during the operation and the hours after, before I could feel my legs again, I was imagining a treatment by Kavitha and her skilled and loving hands. It must have helped me very much because the doctors cannot understand how a could heal so fast! And I told them about Ayurveda and my 26 treatments and said: that is why. Everybody: doctors, nurses and friends have never seen something like it! After two days, I was walking with crotches. After three days, I was going up and down the stairs. After five days, I didn't have to use the crotches any more! After eight days, I could drive the car. And I think all this was possible because of you at Ideal. Since I am interested in Ayurveda for a few years, I wanted to discover the roots of this old medicine. I came by chance at ideal and I am sure it was the right choice. The atmosphere here is very peaceful; all the< people working here are nice and positive and make you feel so good. The place is very clean, the food is unbelievable and the massages of courses are just the best I have ever had. Manager the manager of the place is very serious and concerned by the "curists". I have made the long journey from Los Angeles to India four times to receive treatments at the Ideal Ayurvedic Resort. I consider it my ""home away from home"". The staff and doctors there are all highly trained in the science of Ayurveda and have been most helpful in treating my personal pathology, psoriatic arthritis. The quality of the treatments given by the staff at Ideal exceeds any of those I have received elsewhere. The oils and herbs used in the treatments are fresh and of the highest quality possible. The treatment rooms have a healing vibration that can be sensed immediately upon entering. The accommodations, although not luxurious, are always very clean and well maintained. I also highly recommend the meals that are served at the Resort - everything is fresh, healthy, and cooked for the benefit of each guest's personal condition. It is impossible to leave Ideal Ayurvedic Resort without feeling some benefit from being there.

Now our time has gone by and we are happy we have had these 3 weeks of Panchakarma treatment in our Ideal Ayurvedic Resort We have been totally ascetic (stopped smoking, coffee and alcohol) and it really was not so difficult to do this here. We have felt very 'at home' with the staff in Ideal, the excellent food and the professional treatment we have received. We have had funny times too, especially with Managerprasad, he helped us so much in the hard first week. Sure, we will come back again. With much love

We started with a little apprehension to begin with but as the days passed we started to feel really good as a result of the various treatments. The entire staff of this resort pampered us, including the MD Mr Christudas. The hospitality and level of personalized care given by everyone is exemplary. The unmatched service and treatment made us feel very special. My wife and I are really happy that we decided to come here and my wife's health problems have gone. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Ideal, especially Manager and the MD. We are looking forward to being back here soon to have another holiday cum treatments. This has been our first visit to Kerala and to Ideal Ayurvedic Resort. It has indeed been an excellent experience. Manager has been an asset; he has offered much help and guidance and has made our stay here an exciting and fruitful one. To experience 'Work is love made visible.' as Kahlil Gibran writes in 'The Prophet' you must simply go to Ideal Ayurvedic Resort, and you will just be so beautifully spoiled whilst relaxing in their loving care. Recently I went there for a second time. I had an acute problem with my left knee ""locking"" up due to damage to the meniscus. I had been using a crutch for six weeks and also painkillers. Upon arrival my whole body was aching, my knee was in great pain after a long journey, and my stomach was upset due to the painkillers. Having been in pain for six weeks I felt myself to be in complete disharmony. Following a specially recommended treatment program for ten days, I could soon relax into the loving atmosphere and the health care carried out with such marvelously dedicated professionalism. After three days I could walk without the crutch and I realized I had not taken any painkillers since I arrived. Apart from thoroughly enjoying the ayurvedic treatments, I also took delight in their vegetarian menu (I have very choosy taste-buds indeed!) and just breathing their relaxed atmosphere seemed to have a healing effect. In retrospect I realize; that along with the knee improving I was encouraged to do just enough physical activity so as to activate the knee in proportion to its healing progress - from initially walking along a cemented beach walk to walking up steps in palaces and memorials. The healing process is still going on since I arrived back home two weeks ago - during the last week I can stretch out the leg fully and get down into a squatting position as well as get up without any great effort, for the first time in 7-8 weeks. So I cancelled the operation scheduled for my knee. But better still is the more subtle effects of this treatment: I feel happier and have more energy and vitality than for a very, very long time, and I feel at harmony with myself yet again thanks to the dedicated work carried out in 'Ideal'.

I am no longer amazed but I am now convinced that Ideal Resort and it's keepers (Manager and Christudas) have created an ashram of ashrams - of peace, love, friendship - this alone can cure the human mind of its' sufferings. It's been another amazing experience here at Ideal and I hope to come back for many more years to come. I sincerely hope that the quality of this genuine service and the goodness of these kind people will remain here for as long as possible. With deep appreciation.

It's our last day and looking at my watch I can see that we're well into our last hour; 13 days and nights have sailed past. I came here having absolutely no idea what to expect but my mind was open. In less than two weeks I've felt completely transformed, my body feels as though it 's 'back in business' and I'm so relaxed I feel almost horizontal on a permanent basis!! This could not be further away from the hectic pace of London and is a real haven from madness, a home away from home. I want to thank you all for making us both feel so welcome, for including us in the world of Ayurveda, and for all of your smiles and kindness. Christudas, in particular, you have achieved what I never thought possible; the concoctions that you've managed to persuade me to take is more than my mother managed in 27 years! A professionally run resort with a very relaxed and tranquil atmosphere. The rooms are spotlessly clean, and the staff are friendly and obliging. The food was delicious and the treatments carried out with skill and dedication. I can honestly say it was the most relaxing week that I have ever had - peace and tranquility in an Indian paradise. This is a holiday for real people who want to recuperate in a genuinely ayurvedic environment without having to pay for "the frills", yet with all the real benefits of trained practitioners, healthy diet and overall comfort. I spent a week at Ideal Aruvedic Resort, where I was rubbed, scrubbed, pounded, kneaded, oiled, and cleansed. I was rejuvenated to the core. The food was of gourmet quality- fresh, clean, and beautiful. I would venture to say that I had one of the best meals in my life for lunch one day. The treatments were divine and the staff attentive and wonderful, not to mention that the rooms are spotless. Frankly, I cannot recommend Ideal highly enough. It was like finding a needle in the haystack. It is the real deal!

Allready my fourth stay here. I checked out some other places but could not find a better place for the ayurvedic treatments!! The food is allways prepared fresh. Team is very helpfull and friendly. Silent area - jungle athmosphere. I enjoy the freetime at the pool. Definitely will be back with friends and family. Can recommend this place very well. (Daniel from Austria/Europe)

Ideal changed my life. If you want an authentic experience with truly caring people and a fantastic chef you should come here. It's not 5 star pampering. If you want that go somewhere else. Ayurveda is the Way coupled with yoga and meditation will be your remedies.

This is the place to go! Staff always smiling and ready to help you ! They organize the pic up at the airport and all other transfer for us. Place and rooms are beautiful silent and clean , amazing pool , very good Ayrvedic treatments and super yoga class. Food is delicious every day! Every meal! Fresh and healthy! Beach is 5minutes walking and so close are many shops of clothes spices and cosmetic Indian and Ayrvedic products. We book one more week because we feel like home and maybe much better! I really enjoyed my panchakarma stay at this resort. The staff is excellent - always smiling, nice and ready to help in every matter (you really are taken care of). The food was excellent as well, the therapists caring and interested to help you. After 3 weeks panchakarma I returned stronger (more body muscles, healthy vegeterian diet) and relaxed, met great people there which made the trip one of the best I have ever had. A place where many people return and for sure I will as well:-)

The place is so lovely and relaxing, that we extended our stay. My husband had a fracture, which has caused him lots of pain, and was our main motivation for going. The massages, and treatments helped a lot, and he was able to do the physio exercises in the pool. The doctors checked his progress every day. The bedrooms are basic and clean. Without exception, everyone was friendly and helpful. Different menu each day, all fresh and healthy ingredients. I enjoyed the yoga sessions

We booked a 5 day stay at the ideal and ended up staying for another 5 days!! The staff here are all very friendly and no request is too difficult for them. From the management team right through every level of staff they were all on the ball. The attention we received from the Doctors was also exemplerary, they followed up with us on a daily basis to ensure the treatments were working. The treatments were the best we have experienced, I had the same person for the whole stay. We were on a full board package which included all meals, the food was excellent and the restaurant staff and chef were so accommodating. Also we were picked up at the airport as part of the trip We are already making our plans for a return visit in 2020! Stayed for 4 days in the resort with family ( 4 Adults + 1 Kid). Good service and location are really close to Kovalam beach. Perfect place for relaxation with family. Reached the resort at around 2 Pm had a quick check-in. I had the opportunity to consult with Inhouse doctor for Ayurvedic treatment and massage therapy. ( Affordable price and kind service). Coming to food its simply amazing, good variety and taste. Room size is medium and bathroom facility is good. Hot water is available as geyser is located in every room. The resort is located very near to the beach and the Shiva temple. The swimming pool is maintained at top quality. I would recommend this resort for people who want to get treated for the ayurvedic course for a minimum of 7 days to 21days and so on. Parking space is limited, max 5 vehicles can be parked. I would strongly recommend this resort for budget traveller which is worth every Rupee spent. RO water is available at the resort which is located at a convenient place. Note: No TV as this is an Ayurvedic treatment centre. WIFI connectivity is ok. Overall it was really an IDEAL RESORT for Ayurvedic treatment.

Ideal Ayurvedic Resort is a charming small resort that offers wonderful hospitality. My husband and I did a ten-day rejuvenation program. Each day we received treatments administered by caring and professional therapists and overseen by the on-site doctor.The accommodation was good and the restaurant offered a wide variety of vegetarian dishes daily. We highly recommend this resort and Ayurvedic center.

Visited here and found staff were so kind, friendly and unobtrusive it made for a great break. The food and treatments are spectacularly good. They have 4 senior treatment ladies who will make you feel amazing, these ladies are assisted by 3 younger therapists, all were great. There are 2 doctors here, 1 Male and 1 female. Both are very easy to access and seem to pop up everywhere. Great treatment advice. The yoga teacher who lectures in the local university sang through his class and I can honestly say it was one of the nicest exercise classes I gave done. Although this is not the swankiest if places, if is clean, offers great value for money and you will never regret spending time here. Great service given particularly from Dineesh, Saju and Kavita. My only regret is only 3 days here was not enough. I suspect the weight loss program is fantastic. I am coming back!!

My wife & I spent seven days with Rejuvenating and Detox Ayurvedic treatment which included boarding & lodging. Apart from a good Ayurvedic medical advice by Dr Sibi & Aarathy, the daily variation of massage was done very professionally with practised hands. Our special compliments to the great food prepared by the restaurant staff. Its all part of the package and they gave our choice of menu apart from the advisory menu. The place is quaint and well managed. Any requirements are immediately attended to. Currently, the place is undergoing renovation which is indicative of a growing team! Well done Sunu & team !!

The staffs were very friendly, welcoming and even organized our transfer with a SUV car. Their doctor for Ayurvedic treatment was friendly and easy to engage. We also did their treatment for two hours and highly recommended. For sure will visit again. Wifi is free and yummy breakfast

I must say the place was amazing to stay along with my family, we spent like a week and enjoyed a lot. Management /staff was very friendly and always available when needed. I feel very safe whilst staying in this resort along with my family. Food was amazing too all different cuisines available when needed.

Our first Ayurvedic treatment took place in the famous Ideal Resort. Me and my mum had a long 24 days stay there and didn't even see the days going! The center is very well located, with the beach nearby. Its a beautiful and comfortable resort, very clean and peaceful. The personnel and the staff were welcoming, very friendly, and always here to make sure that everything is going well. We were impressed by their help and kindness. In the package were include 3 hours of therapy everyday, yoga classes, the food and the room. The doctor is very qualified and experienced, working by a traditional method of pulse reading. There is a whole processus of detoxification (pacha karma) in every treatment wich focus on the entire body. Treatments are very effective. We felt having a new pure body after the treatment, It's a renewal!! Therapists have the hands and experiences. Rooms were cleaned everyday, and the diet was perfectly respected. Wifi connexion was bad. The flexibility is a very good point. We could come to eat at anytime (waiters are very nice), change our treatment schedule for whenever we wanted. The managers were very attentive to us. Its a very peaceful place where you can chill and relax, be healed and enjoy! A special mention to the driver. He always had good advices about places to visit, very friendly and kind, we had our best trips with him! It was a wonderful experience and we will surely be back again. For my 70 birthday year, I gave myself a present of 28 days at the Ideal Ayurvedic Resort in India. The treatments, the food, and the staff were all excellent. I went home looking and feeling fantastic--I lost 6 kilos, my skin was glowing, and my hip and back problems were resolved as a result of the treatments. Going to the ayurvedic treatment centre was the best gift I could have ever given myself!

I had 2 relaxing weeks in this ayurvedic resort and I'm planning to return back to there next year . The location was a very quiet and peaceful , the food was excellent , the staff were very friendly and approachable, the doctors and the massage therapists were skilful and professional . Such a calm atmosphere. I spent an initial week there and then returned for a further week. I'm vegetarian so the food was excellent for me. The pool is very good, clean and large enough for laps. I had a couple of massages and would return for further treatments. I had a pool view room, hot water, no mosquitos. It's a small quiet resort, perfect to unwind in.

Just returned from 14 days at Ideal, and I feel so rejuvenated and relaxed after all the superb treatments I had. My girlfriend recommended the resort as she had been there three times previously and I have to say I wasn't disappointed . The staff were so friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble for them. The ayurvedic treatments I received were superb as were the therapists applying them. The resort was idealy placed close to shops and only a 10 minute walk to the beach. In short a great resort and great value for money

Very pleasant garden setup with swimming pool and sun beds. A lot of reasonably priced Ayurvedic treatments available. Very friendly and serviceminded staff. In-house restaurant with delicious food and a large variety of dishes for both breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I was really taken care of and pampered during my stay. The facilities were good. The hotel didn't lack anything. At the same time it's not a fancy or a fussy place. I would totally go back. The staff were wonderful. They were so caring and genuinely interested in how you are doing. The place has a great energy and that's in large part thanks to the staff. Great going!

I had the privilege of staying at the Ideal Ayurvedic Resort recently with a group travelling for yoga and retreat. I had no expectations nor did I really understand the ayurvedic programme before I arrived. I could not have been in better hands. This place is a little oasis, nestled quietly in a small part of Chowara staffed by the most incredibly hospitable, helpful and beautiful people I have ever encountered on my travels. Every day every staff member greeted you with a special and genuine smile, every little thing that you needed or desired was instantly attended to. Dr Abhilash was assigned to care for my cleanse and detox programme and ongoing health management. I loved sitting and chatting to him and gaining so much knowledge around some issues I had been experiencing. His guidance was invaluable. The front office staff, Dineesh, Arun Sunu and especially Saji went beyond what was expected from management. Our cook Saju provided us with the most delicious Indian vegetarian food whilst Vineth our always smiling and beautiful waiter could not do enough for us. Supported by Satheesh and Mani the whole ayurvedic dining experience blew me away. The beautiful Kavitha, my massage therapist, expertly, gently and with the most loving hands ever tended to me each day, bringing my body back in to a place of alignment. She was so special and I loved her. The grounds were beautifully kept and even our cleaning ladies smiled and laughed with us each day. And the lovely gatekeepers who saluted us with joy each time we passed by, I cannot forget their smiles. Whilst there are more luxurious resorts in Kerala, and many of them, I looked forward to coming home each day from the hustle and bustle of the streets to this little oasis to be greeted by people that had become family. Our rooms were clean and comfortable and I enjoyed sitting on the little balcony overlooking the pool chatting with others in our group each day. Needless to say I shall return and hope to make this an annual pilgrimage! Thanks to all at Ideal!

I spent nearly two weeks here as part of a large group (14) visiting for yoga and health. It was a fantastic experience. It is the staff that set this place apart. By the end of our stay, we felt like part of the family and their genuine care for us was amazing. And the food? Unbelievable! It was both healthy and tasty. It was my first time for Ayervedic treatments and it was very professional and interesting. By the end of our two weeks, I felt fantastic - the best I had felt in years.

This is my 3rd trip to Ideal ayurvedic resort and as usual the experience was pretty amazing. I embarked on this ‘alternative’ route to treatment for rheumatoid arthritis that developed as result of complex medical issues and associated treatment. Ideal has become my go to place for symptomatic relief and enhanced wellbeing. Dr Sibi has cautiously and professionally prescribed treatment (I work in the medical field) and identified systemic problems prior to subsequent diagnosis. He is supportive of medical intervention already in place and is clear about what ayurvedic treatment can achieve (although I have had bonus ‘unexplainable’ positive results on follow up scans). My incredibly skilled, warm and supportive massage/physical therapist Kavitha has walked this recovery journey with me with positive results beyond my expectations. Sunu and management create an environment of warmth and the staff really have your best interest at heart. Everyone greets you with a smile. The security men are protective, the cleaning staff take pride in their work and are keen to make sure you are comfortable. The restaurant staff and chef cater to the varying dietary needs of the guests - delivering special ‘potions’ early in the morning before starting breakfast service. Nothing seems like too much trouble - the positive energy and kindness of all the staff I’ve encountered here is inspiring. The environment is awesome - the food is fantastic, yoga caters for all levels of ability and the pool is an added bonus to boost the spirits when seeking treatment. I have been at ideal ayurveda resort for 2 weeks making a detoxification program, and I am 100% happy and very satisfied with everything. The doctor, S.Sibi Raj Bams, is very serious and attentive, and all the treatment was very well organized between staff and the doctor. The massages where very professional and wonderful, my therapist Kunhu was so nice and sympathetic. I feel very well and it is very good to understand better the relation between my body and the things I eat, ayurveda is a millenar medicine and really very interesting. All the staff was really gorgeous, always with a smile and wiling to provide anything I needed. Being there in September was also great because the hotel was not full so it's possible to enjoy peacefully all the beautiful surroundings and the clean swimming pool. Dineesh and Saaji the managers where great and I really felt I was home. Also the food was delicious, and the menu would change each day and meal, I had a special diet because I was making a detox, nevertheless each meal was a pleasure. I think this is one of the bests hotels in the area for making an ayurveda treatment because the relation between staff and guest is most friendly, and you are A person, and not one more client. Maybe here you d'ont have the 5 stars amenities of others hotel in the area but the price quality is extraordinary. Also because of the very serious approach you have from the Doctor and your medical needs. Thank you Ideal for my wonderful and unforgettable experience .

Really calm family hotel. Very friendly and ready to help staff. Open for individual requests about food, treatment, trips! Very polite and with good sense of humor at the same time the rates are affordable, rooms and facilities are nice. Also, beach is so near to the hotel and it is amazing site. It was awesome experience and had great fun here.

The Ideal Ayurveda Resort is perfect if you are looking to do authentic and complete treatments. I did 3 weeks of Panchkarma and have never felt so consistently cared for by all the staff. Management, Ayurveda doctor, massage ladies, cooks and cleaners are all good at their jobs. The resort itself is nicely laid out and has a peaceful atmosphere. I left feeling like a new woman!

I have been here for about 3 days . I have heard about this resort from so many places like social media, through friends, family etc. It was my first time here, and they impressed me so well with their hospitality. The stay at the resort will gives you only calm and peace mind. i felt like rejuvenated after my stay here. Excellent staff, Very Delicious food, Very professional ayurvedic treatments.
