Somatheeram Ayurveda Resort

My fifth visit to somatheeram ayurveda village during the month of March was worth experiencing and it was a decision tospend my health holidays every year at somatheeram Ayurveda village and I must saythat this experience was beyond anything I had expected. The whole ayurveda village has a beautiful and peaceful atmospheredue to the nice setting between the beautiful blue sea and the rich greenerywhere the cottages are located. Manaltheeram Ayurveda village is the sisterconcern of somatheeram ayurveda village.Regarding the treatments,I am extremely happy with the results and had a life changing impact on me. Iwas there for 14 days and did the panchakarma treatments. Now it is a monthlater and I am still doing yoga, living with ayurvedic principles. it is a peaceful place for holistic wellbeing. Whether it be a long term illness thatyou hope to reverse through a diet or anti stress program, the doctors at somatheeram treat with an ancient medical system that was born out of 5000years ago. Scientific research is now looking back to ayurveda in the modernlifestyles threatening to cause catastrophe in the western world, especially withautoimmune disease and obesity. Moreover, since all medicine originated inplants it makes sense to heal in a way that is more natural to our systems. Staffs are exemplaryin hospitality and the resort is run well. Because all staff and management areequally excellent at their roles it is hard to pick out favorites. Food isaccording to our doshas, fresh healthy vegan and vegetarian. Restaurant staffsare particularly attentive and there is an ayurvedic doctor at the restaurantto help you with food choices. What made this retreata very special experience were the wonderful people at Manaltheeram. Whether it’sthe management, the waiters in the restaurant, the therapists, thehousekeeping, the doctors, the reception or even in the beauty clinic,They wereall really professional, very attentive and giving you a welcoming feeling. I would like to thank the management and everybody at Manaltheeram for thegreat experience and the unforgettable time I had. I will definitely be backagain.

I went on an Iyengar Yoga retreat at this resort, and it was beautiful! The staff is so polite and friendly they feel like friends and family by the time you leave. They make you feel at home and welcomed. The Ayurvedic clinic was amazing! The consultation and treatments were very relaxing and effective. I learned a lot about myself and my doshas. I felt transformed after the whole trip. The food was delicious the grounds scenic, clean and relaxing. I loved everything about this place. I will definitely return.

This is my 12th stay at Manaltheeram Ayurveda Hospital, every time they exceeded my expectations. I select always the same Therapist and Doctors team for my treatments. Here the treatment is very traditional and scientific. Upon arrival, my Doctors have given the first consultation and analysed my health condition by the Ayurveda traditional methods, and the next day itself they analysed my laboratory investigations also to make my process of treatments. Also every day my doctors evaluate my daily conditions and explain my treatments and their process. My lovely therapists, care for me a lot and do the treatments with more care and attention. They use all Personal protective equipment during the treatment, it gives me more confidence on the safety part of the hospital. I came to know this hospital is having the highest accreditation from India Government called "NABH", also they are the National award 2019 winner of India Government. It reflects in every service that offered to me. All these 12 years I am seeing almost the same faces among the staff and patients. Same like me most of the patients are repeaters. The sea is very calming and good to swim, my doctors give advice using such facilities during treatments. So much advice from the doctors on do's and don'ts during my treatments. The place looks like an Ayurveda resort, but it is a serious Ayurveda hospital with a big team of doctors, therapists, nursing assistants, pharmacists, etc. I am totally relieved of all my difficulties which I am suffering due to my work and lifestyle in Europe. Now I am very healthy and happy at all levels. I recommend Ayurveda for all.

We stayed at the Ayursoma Hotel. It was a great experience. The medical staff is extremely forthcoming and the treatments excellent. Ask for the therapist named Kannan Binu. We have been in many places but the therapists have never been so good. The food buffet is quite big so it is probably the best ayurveda experience you can buy!

A resort that takes care of your health in many different ways, starting with a medical check up Ayurvedic style , normal blood work , determining your body type and foods you can or should not eat. Daily two hour massage treatments , meditation , yoga. Food excellent and rooms comfortable but simple. Location is stunning on cliffs above the beach that stretches for miles. All still relatively unspoiled.

We were at Somatheeram Ayurveda Village during the Xmas and New year period. Our purpose was Authentic panchakarma treatment. We were are Somatheeram four times and we opted to stay again at Somatheeram. This year we noticed the care and attention in Ayurveda and all other areas were increased, every year we witnessed the quality graph is going higher. Big team of doctors and most of them are having specialisation masters degree in Ayurveda. We were very happy with all services and will go back next year.

Very friendly and highly professional staff throughout. Beautiful property, cottages set in wellkept gardens and sea view.Some nice architectural features with antique wooden structures. Straight on beach, infinity pool. Excellent vegetarian food, mostly buffet. Good Ayurvedic centre with friedly therapist.A real paradise on earth.

The Ayurvedic meals are excellent, the attentive and warm service the fantastic Ayurvedic treatments, the gardeners are always present to make us appreciate with flowers. Plants, trees all named by their Sanskrit and Latin names, a real botanical garden. The reception is exceptional, the welcome warm and they are always there for us.

The somatheeram Ayurveda village has an environment of peace, nature wonders, kindness, relaxation and health, all of this surrounded by beautiful gardens and excellent view and proximity of the Arabian Sea, The staff is not only kind and friendly, but also ready to be of assistance. The doctors and therapists are excellent, keeping a daily control of how every guest is doing health wise.The food served at the restaurant is of first quality, tasty and fresh. The rooms are well kept and serviced every day, and the laundry service is excellent and fast. Special mention is to be given to the Guest relations department, always ready to respond to any question or information, and to coordinate any transportation or orientation you may require.

Amazing Ayurvedic treatment @ somatheeram ayurveda village. I took my mother for her health issues and although we only had ten nights there, she has really improved a lot .The treatments were excellent, the doctors were so informative, the staff at the resort were so pleasant and helpful, i highly recommended this place to anyone. really thankful to somatheeram ayurveda village, see you soon.

I took a rejuvenation package of 7 days and the experience was great. The staff, Doctors, therapists all do a great job. The atmosphere here is very relaxing with all natural surroundings at the same time has all facilities. Beautiful property and close to nature. With amazing beach view and nature sounds. The highlight of my 14-day stay was when I met the creator of this paradise Mr. Baby Matthew Sir. He was so humble and warm! As others have said the treatment is A1. I had a massage every morning and a beauty face mask each day with honey and herbs. I even had a Milk Bath (more than one) The Therapists are very professional and nice. I too paid a lot of money for the room and had no sea view from my window but who cares for these small details? One goes there to find himself physiologically and physically. I left there feeling 10 years younger. The food was good but people like myself will lust for that pizza and that tender meat and so on. It takes a couple of days for one to appreciate that the food presented is the best vegetarian and freshest food one can eat. The food is an essential part of your treatment and if you sneak out to a hotel and break your diet, it will be only you who are hurting. Like srimanone I too plan to organize a group and go back there this year. The staff is very nice and helpful. I think that everyone should go to this place at least once in his or her lifetime, but beware there are imitators. Make sure you go to the original.

I have been returning to this slice of heaven every year for the last few years. It is an exclusive experience to have a one stop shop of everything you can think of to improve your health. There is a holistic approach to improving health, including mental physical and overall energy levels. The retreat runs a high quality team of diligent staff ranging from doctors, massage therapists, dietician, chefs, attentive restaurant staff, local sightseeing assistance, beauty salon, pool staff, shops on site. The sounds of waves from the ocean is soothing and there are fantastic views from the property. The staff always make you feel at home and go beyond their call of duty to meet your expectations. I strongly recommend you visit here. And like me, you will want to keep coming back to rejuvenate your health!

I had the time to spend only three days here and plan to come back for more extensive treatments. The grounds are beautiful with lots of trees and flowers blooming. The restaurant serves the best vegetarian food anywhere and has many choices daily. The views from the restaurant are wonderful overlooking sea. The service is excellent and once you check in, everything is very streamlined. The Ayuvedic doctors are excellent, especially dr. Nair and his associates. He was quick to diagnosis and to recommend treatments which were excellent by senior staff. I plan on bringing my tour there in 2020, as it is a perfect place to unwind and get treatments on various ailments.i highly recommend this resort whether your traveling solo and or with a partner. From the moment of our warm welcome at Somatheeram, all the way through the two week treatments, we enjoyed a wonderful stay at this treasure place. We where well looked after and treated like VIP's. Even had the pleasure to meet the Owner of the Somatheeram Collection personally and got a short inspection of the new Masterpiece, the AyurSoma Royal Retreat, which will be opened in 2020. Thank you to all of the wonderful staff, including Doctors, Therapists, Yoga Teacher, Guest Relations, Restaurant Staff, Gardeners, Housekeeping and Guards. I am coming from Shanghai, My friend who live in Paris invite me to visit South India and stay at this Ayurveda resort for 14 days. This is my first trip to India. The stuffs here is very helpful, they take care all the need of guests, the environment here is quite exciting, we can hear the voice of nature every moment. The resort is well management. The Ayurveda treatment is doing every day about 2 hours, slim program including Ayurveda food, powder massage, rice milk massage, and eye treatment is quite good. I loose 3kg in two weeks. Everything is beyond my expectation. Will come with my friends in China again next year. Thank you for all the stuffs! Thank you for the flowers and your smile.

My wife came home one day and said she wanted to do a trip to India .I didn't want any part of it ..but she convinced me to go and boy was I surprised...in a good way ..she booked a package at Somatheeram ayurveda village..this place is incredible..the service tops any place I've ever stayed at...the most beautiful property...the view of the Arabian sea is gorgeous..they offer Ayurveda treatments that are included in the package . The therapist are very professional as well as the doctors...my back was in such bad shape and after treatments I never felt better. Upon arrival, the staff at the reception are so attentive, they will go out of their way for anything that you need . I never had such high level of service in my life ...the restaurant offers healthy and delicious selection of vegetarian foods ..and they had evening entertainment and yoga and the most beautiful pool ....but what really hit me was how nice the staff treat you. Oh , and the rooms are so nice and comfortable and clean ..this beautiful property is so clean ..I recommend this place to anyone who doesn't feel well and is looking for a alternative answer ....I'll be back next year ...some names I feel deserves mentioning are all front office and guest relation team.doctors (dr.chandrika and sreejith) and therapists(Manjesh and hareesh).

Has been an exceptional experience for us. We started out with moderate expectations and we were totally blown away. The property is tropical and amazing with a beach view. Vishnu’s skills as our therapist were outstanding.

Visited Somatheeram for the 8th time to get my annual Ayurvedic treatment, yoga and meditation sessions. Every time I was highly impressed by quality of services, friendliness of the staff and exceptional natural beauty of this place. Highly recommend to everyone who is seeking a place to relax and unwind from the daily routines and to take care of the mind and soul. The results of Ayurvedic treatments are just amazing and I receive dozens of compliments every time returning home.

I am really relaxed! Somatheeram has everything I like. Ayurveda, Yoga, Organic Food and Services. I was very healed. However, there were a lot of black birds and it was annoying. Everything else is perfect All staff.

We had stayed there for 14 nights and gotten ourselves the treatment’s after consultation, pretty satisfied with them. Very friendly and helpul staff. Good food and ambience. Will definitely recommend! Great servuce by Akhil :)

My sister and I spent 2 weeks at the Health Center. There are several Ayurvedic Resort nearby but we thought this one was the best. The food was all organic and based on your dosha... but no one made a big deal if you went “off dosha”. The grounds were immaculate. The health center staff was terrific! Everyone was so helpful and caring. We can’t wait to return!!

Me and my wife is very happy to stayed in Somatheeram at 3 weeks, treatment was excellent and food authentic vegetarian food. Pööl and Beach facilities were excellent,rooms are very good and thanks for keeping traditional ways. Especially mr Praveen was taking care both of us. Kerala day was amazing with traditional dance. Definitely we will comeback here next year

From the moment we stepped into the lobby where the Somatheeram experience began at the front desk. This is a magical bit of heaven in Kerala. This is an Ayervedic resort, so I saw some reviews cutting on the food, and the funny people in green robes looking like zombies walking around. We are zombies because we have just had a two hour ayervedic massage therapy and are so relaxed that we do look like zombies! We are still wearing our robes because we are going back to our rooms to wash off the amazing oils that have been rubbed on us. The grounds are lush tropical and beautifully maintained, with lots of friendly gardeners watering and tending all day long. The rooms are traditional Kerala huts in the middle of lush gardens overlooking the Arabian Sea (but with up to date amenities). The rooms are amazing. The food: every meal is a huge Ayervedic buffet, mainly vegetarian, with traditional Kerala choices served overlooking the Arabian Sea. If you are looking for western food, this buffet is not for you, but you can go outside the grounds and eat. if you want to try some amazing traditional Indian fare, you should. From the room, to the food, to the beautiful grounds, the wonderful evening entertainment, I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed the experience. The perfect way to unplug, and I am plotting about how quickly I can go back.

When we arrived, we were utterly shattered on all levels. We were welcomed so warmly by the truly incredible staff - special mention to Praveen who could not have taken more care of us throughout our whole 2 week stay. My Mum was recovering from spinal surgery and though there are quite a few steps between the medical centre and the restaurant and pool, the support and treatments soon had her leaving her stick behind, causing the wonderful staff to race after her to retrieve it and lend their arm. I was also incredibly depleted and unwell, but Dr. Nair and his team were fantastic. The treatments are intensive and can be a bit confronting, but we surrendered to the process and got so much out of it. It does take some time and patience, but we would recommend 2 weeks minimum for people who really need to heal. The sister resort Manaltheeram is absolutely divine to go to for pool or beach swims and dinner, as it's right down on the beach. What's great is that if you're staying at one, you can visit and eat at the other for a change of scenery. The food at both places is outstanding vegetarian, but after about 10 days we did go out to the new local restaurant Bonfire, as we really fancied some local fish which was so fresh and tasty. We highly recommend either resort and can't thank the doctors and staff enough. Go if you can!

I went as had recently been diagnosed with diabetes 2. When I arrived I had a blood test and it confirmed the high sugar levels. After two weeks of special diet (not buffet) and treatments everyday, my blood sugar level was normal. Fantastic

Somatheeram does an outstanding job completely submerging it’s visitors into Ayurveda; best to brief yourself before arriving ??. It is helpful to have a light understanding of what Ayurveda means to get a better understanding of what an Ayurvedic Resort will be like. A relaxed resort environment maintained by an attentive and kind staff in every department across the village. The senior medical staff were impressive and inspiring. Activities and food designed around your constitution. The vegetarian buffet each day was great. The spa treatments are amazing once you let go of prudent western tendencies. I will definitely return. My only complaints would be the fishermen’s trash(poo) on the beach and the loud carnival music on the beach till 1am. A clean easily accessible beach would have been nice on the sometheeram side.P

Somatheeram, after all my Ayurveda experiences, is the best, speaking about amenities, treatments, food, great view and ocean!! I have stayed there 4 times so far, and I would recommend the monsoon times, that is July and August, because only few people travel at this special time.

Somatheeram has very competent and engaged ayurvedic doctors. We came here with specific questions regarding physical ailments, and the team here could both give us good advice and recommend different kinds of ayurvedic medicine. I am physically back from one week ayurveda stay and my mind is still there and wish to go back in future ... The massages, the recommendations from doctors, the quality of food and above all, the kindness of each people working overthere : everywhere someone take care of you. Smiles in this place are connected with heart and mine is full of grateful thoughts. Even when the language is lacking, we could talk by the eyes ; the cleaning woman and the garden women offered me a jasmine flower every day. At Somatheeram, both environment and people are magic. It is really extraordinarily resourcing.
