In the season of 2004/2005 we opened our spread out 12.000 sqm area with five different buildings under the name Oceano Cliff. All buildings are situated in a lush garden and each of these buildings has their own charm and own name. This is why we still are able to offer you different rooms in different categories, from our simple but charming basic rooms to our two-room-suites or spacious lofts for more luxury needs.
Varkala, the lively small town, is accessible by bus train or plane. The nearby airport Trivandrum is a mere 45 minutes away. The beach area itself is located four kilometres from the city and has all necessary facilities to offer.
Varkala Beach is divided into three areas: the recently developed South Cliff, where The Oceano is located, the Beach Road area and the lively North Cliff with its plenty of restaurants and shops.
On the cliff the sunset is truly what the name promises – the perfect moment when the red sun dips into the ocean. And certainly the long sandy beach is an other reason to come and enjoy lovely Varkala.
Especially we like to mention the natural springs that run out of the cliff walls on several spots. Your sweetwater shower right on the beach.
Within the Varkala Beach area everything is within walking distance.
What else has Varkala to offer? Find for example the calm temple complex at the end of Beach Road – which comes to blasting life in the festival season. Or visit the Sivagiri Ashram situated on the top of the Sivagiri hill, the pilgrimage centre of the great social reformer of Kerala.
