Overall the yoga barn is a fantastic place to be at. The quality of accommodation, food and yoga classes were definitely up to my expectations. The garden cafe really provides excellent meals that well complement the yoga lifestyle. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. I spend 4 days there and I could have stayed another week without a problem. I had read some negative reviews online about the noise level which I didn't experience at all (yes there is construction around but that's not too bad), and the quality of the yoga mats (which in my experience were brand new and not smelly at all). The location is very convenient, one can just walk out at night on the Main Street and try some of the many delicious restaurants in Ubud. There also is a super nice spa called "Kush", I had the hot stone and a facial, both were amazing though the lady doing the facial looked like she would have preferred being somewhere else than massaging my face - but I can understand that, I wouldn't like to massage someone either. The staff overall, like in most places in Bali, is amazing: friendly, genuine and speak perfect English. There are some areas for improvement though, like in anything. - on my first day I stepped onto a piece of burning incense that had fell on the bathroom floor and ended up having to go to the hospital to get the infected wound cleaned up, not amazing when you have to do yoga 3/4 hours a day. Luckily the team allowed me to check out earlier (thanks Jero) without charging me a cancellation fee for shortening my stay - The registration system for the classes is not very handy. Understood that it could be first come first serve for external students, but there should be an option for residents to book classes in advance. I don't see why someone staying there precisely for yoga wouldn't be allowed to commit to classes on advance. It was annoying t have to be there 30 mns before each class though it didn't ruin the experience. - Towels should be provided for free to students, just like any other studio. Working out for 90 minutes in the heat obviously result in intensive sweating. - Yes there are amazing bathtubs in the rooms, but they are impossible to fill. The water just doesn't run with enough pressure (I once tried for over one hour) and is not hot enough, so you would end up waiting forever for a cold bath - not great. I would really recommend this place to anyone who wants to take a break from a busy lifestyle and practice yoga in a peaceful environment - I would certainly go back there anytime and for a longer stay. At the end of the day - all these minor issues really are first world problems - it's a blessing to be able to stay there and afford such precious time out. Thank you Yoga Barn team!

Attended all level vinyasa flow classes with 3 different teachers and I liked it a lot: different styles & energies, learnt some new tips on breathing and never felt out of place although I am new at practising yoga. Marcus's energy is contagious and makes you smile during the entire class, Murni gave us some tips on breathing and is excellent at explaining how to get into different postures/transitions, Bex has amazing aura and energy, like no one I have ever met before. Mats are on the house, make sure you get there in due time to register to the class (30 min before is recommended). The place overall has a very good energy and the studio above the reception has a very good vibe. Will return for sure the following days and next time when in Ubud.

Been there for an all level class ending up having to do half of the course upside down position wich 3/4 of the class where unable to do, some people tried, some felt on the floor, some where laughing about it, some stopped and started talking bla bla bla... It was noisy and not relaxing at all. This was not yoga. The teacher where there to show off his skills and not adapting to the crowd. I end up injured myself at the ankle. I asked one person over there at the end if the class : same tought, it was not yoga, it was a circus class.

Yoga barn is a great place to try new styles of yoga or meditation. There really is something for everyone. Great instructors, awesome vibe, clean, and mats are free. Classes are a little pricey but worth it imo. If you get a chance, show up half an hour early and try the tibetan bowl meditation on Saturday night.

Just done a class with Levi! It was brilliant nd so was he. Really challenging but the flow was brilliant. He built up the vinyasa each time with something new so you could sort of draw you attention in. Im not a fan when yoga teachers change it up loads with each vinyasa so this was brilliant for me... There was still lots of variety just done in an intellegent way! Cant wait to go back!! ������

Great Vinyasa Flow class with Murni! She's the perfect combination of serious and playful, stresses the importance of mastering foundation poses and gives options for the "super yogis" who are a bit more advanced with their practice. The Kafe is also lovely/yummy! Take a class and have a nice lunch afterwards.

This is my first time join class yoga at Yoga Barn... Did two amazing classes with two wonderful teachers at yoga barn last two days, firstly, i join gantle yoga with Ms. Nadine, she is very friendly.. And next class im join Vinyasa class in Made Era class. He is very very provicient in Yoga. Want to come back for more!

Overcrowded classes, smelly and ultra destroyed yoga mats, honestly i couldn't belive that last point, they earn lots of money and there is a minimum of quality for what you pay that they dont reach by faaaar! The teacher was more a gym teacher from Brooklyn rater than a teacher that creates a yoga athmosphere. I will never come back.

Reception sign in for class was friendlier than initial upstairs desk. The big classroom upstairs is pretty with good views. Mats provided are shedding and worn. Showers downstairs smelled foul (urine?) Cafe has many Yum! Veg vegan raw macro options Lovely. Sheer number of classes and times is great. Overall the space is well done and impressive.

Visited Yoga Barn in dec/jan this year and absolutely loved it! Will go back for sure. Loved the cafeteria and the healthy food options! Wouldn't start my day without having breakfast there! The management and staff are kind and friendly.

It has been a really great experience joining Bex's class yesterday! I loved the way she was teaching and adjusting! It wasn't that crowded I expected it to be. Bring your own mat if possible cause theirs are already worn out!

The noise in the accommodation area is dire, loud hideous AC units rumbling all night long. The staff tried to help us, we were moved from one noisy downstairs standard room, to an even noisier upstairs standard room, add traffic noise to the loud AC motors. It is a mild night here in Ubud, 100% unnecessary to even have an AC running. The staff really tried to help us, the yoga is amazing, as is the food in th restaurant

This place is wonderful. It offers a peaceful and tranquil location away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud, offering a wide selection of yoga classes for different competency levels and a cafe serving healthy food. The surroundings are beautiful and there is none of the pretentiousness you'd see at places like this in London (where I'm from).

this place is amazing!! yogis in the true sense, not just a rehearsed stretch but true yoga (and so challenging - do NOT do level 2 unless you are semi practiced! !) our first yoga barn experience was with carlos (level 2) and we were lucky enough to enjoy his last class there - amazing! luckily bex and les and I am sure many others are amazing yogis with INCREDIBLE energy - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! AND the whole place is in such a beautiful setting! It is busy! as you would expect from a world class yoga place that people travel from many countries to visit! get in early or miss a world class experience! !

Didn't really have a great experience here. The classes are extremely overcrowded. Yoga props are way overdue exchange, especially yoga mats which were torn and super smelly blankets. Plus there were construction works going outside the yoga room during all the meditation and yoga classes I attended this week. Despite the complaints they were continued.

Awesome experiences! I wished that I could go back and visit more courses... Someday. Some facts: The staff is very friendly and they are all good in speaking english. It's really easy to find when you are located in Hanoman/Ubud (Signs everywhere) The location itself is wonderful! The instructions are really easy to understand. It's a must-doing if you go to Ubud! The place is cozy with a beautiful view, and the trainer was good and supportive. However, i wonder why they didn’t turn the AC on! The weather was extremely hot and the mats’ smell was terrible, so it ruined the experience. Also the trainer was late that we started half an hour later, and this could have ruined the plans of all the travelers who joined the class.

I have visited the Yoga Barn 4 times and this visit was for almost 2 weeks...a self guided retreat and cleanse. I absolutely adore the place and staying at the guest house was beautiful. The restorative and yin classes with Bex and Malika were amazing, the Garden Cafe a quietly bustling spot for food and rest, and the Ayurvedic spa, KUSH, divine. A special mention from me to Shervin Boolarian and his tribe for their extraordinary sound healing events- perfect for me at a time when I needed connection to my own spirit...something unforgettable and truly inspiring and transforming.

The yoga classes were fine and atmosphere was good. There are quite a lot of steep steps so it would be difficult for someone who was less than able to get around easily there. I was disappointed with the café. It would have been so easy to offer vegan choices but there were very few. In an otherwise enlightened environment such as the Yoga Barn, I expected more.

I am perfectly happy with Yoga Barn and I have been there many times. Just one suggestion: to keep up the hygiene - often washes everything. I do agree students should behave and clean the mat after the class but operation-wise, Yoga Barn also have the responsibility to provide clean environment and tools for students. If I constantly smell something strange on the mat, blanket and bolster, how can I relax?

Last night I attended the Restorative Yoga class and I was extremely disappointed. Simply put, it was a waste of time and money. It was 90 minutes of basic breathing and a very minimal amount of amateur stretching (only the legs) using a useless strap (and some bolsters). I thought there would be some guidance into how each movement (of which there were basically only two) effects our (restorative) energy but there was none of that. This class is an insult to anyone who takes their physical/mental health seriously!

The whole cavernous complex is awesome with treatment rooms, juice bar and spacious well equipped yogashalas looking out onto jungle lake. I took an evening yin class (130k IDR)with about 40 students. The teacher was humorous and spent the first 15 minutes telling us about her journey and inviting the class to engage with her healing practice. More time spent in sitting. No real breath Instruction which surprised me as there were many beginners and yoga starts with prana. Nice gentle class supported with cushions. Teacher made little effort to engage with or adjust students (difficult in a large class, but not impossible) and spent her time in pose. Relaxing but no challenge or basic guidelines. I’m sure next class will inspire

I took my YTT200 here with Simone MacKay and the School of Sacred Arts and it will forever hold a special place in my heart! The depth of wisdom shared and the care taken to do so deepened my personal practice but even more than that SOSA guided me back home to myself and I found a rich connection with life that was long forgotten. First of all, way too many people. Second, the teacher I think her name was Denis something like that she was rude and arrogant. Most of the class she was doing nothing, mainly it was self taught class. I told her Iam new to yoga and I asked her what equipments I would need? She told me that she is on her break and she will be back to me meanwhile she was talking to her son. She acted unprofessional and never came back to me.

Hey as a loyal Ecstatic Dancer I would love to say that Lion Galban last set (Friday ecstatic dance) was a truly meaningful experience for me. The care he put of bringing the community together deeply touched me. His music was great and the sound healing was special. Hope he gets to paly more often Yoga Barn!

I really like the actual facility but I did not get any real benefit from the shamanic breathing course I took. I found it strange, but I saw others who really enjoyed the class. The facility is spacious and offers a retreat from the busy city. There are places to sit down, get some food and drinks. I would say, it is well worth a visit. You can buy a package deal for classes and they also offer some different options all yoga related. Go enjoy!

I was really looking forward to visiting the yoga barn to do the first lead class I've done in a long time (I usually self practice). We attended the slow vinyasa class on Wednesday. Although the teacher was lovely, there was very little cueing, the beginners were totally confused and we couldn't hear her speaking at the back. The beginning of the class was poorly structured and confusing. Being English we could just about understand the instructions whe.

Bought a three class pass. Flow with Paul was great. Went to Bex's class but there was a sub (seemed v. last minute as Bex's name was on the board outside) and I made an exit after 15 minutes because it wasn't feeling like the class for me. Annoying when you have made an effort to be there, checked schedule etc. Sound medicine with Shervin was gorgeous, although eye pillows would have been appreciated and the dim lighting kept me a bit switched on. Didn't feel that Levi's class was level 1/2 as advertised and was just a bit bland. All in all, found YB to be lacking some soul. Needs lights on the dark passage way at night.

Went for the Morning Flow class on a Sunday. Really enjoyed it. But just like all the other reviews said, it's hard to follow if u have no experience at all. I brought my sis along and she had no clue at all. But I think I benefited from it. Perfect for a morning stretch. Good sound system and good quality mat. But advised to bring your own cover, the mat kinda smells.

Staying in the Yoga Barn accommodation (to do yoga all day) and I'm not allowed to borrow a yoga mat for my room to practice what I have learnt. Not happy. Staff at the accommodation reception and yoga reception are lovely but staff at the kafe don't seem as happy. Pool needs a clean and the beds and pillows are really hard. I wouldn't stay here again.

Best Yoga studio around Ubud but never go to a class power yoga by Denise. I am an advanced yoga teacher, and I was shocked by her class. There was no theme, not even a sequence. Just one apex pose after the other. Denise didn't make sure that the body's were prepared for the poses and didn't make sure that the students get save into the asanas. DANGEROUS!!!

The whole cavernous complex is awesome with treatment rooms, juice bar and spacious well equipped yogashalas looking out onto jungle lake. I took an evening yin class (130k IDR)with about 40 students. The teacher was humorous and spent the first 15 minutes telling us about her journey and inviting the class to engage with her healing practice. More time spent in sitting. No real breath Instruction which surprised me as there were many beginners and yoga starts with prana. Nice gentle class supported with cushions. Teacher made little effort to engage with or adjust students (difficult in a large class, but not impossible) and spent her time in pose. Relaxing but no challenge or basic guidelines. I’m sure next class will inspire

Attended a shamanic breathwork full day workshop but felt there were just too many attendees.. approx 45 to 1 facilitator. Personally the session didn't resonate with me as the recorded music was too disruptive and another lady i met afterwards agreed that she felt nothing during her session. Some of the participants obviously had a great session. We were asked to support and do healing (?!) for our partners. Then in processing, we were asked to do for one another while I was asked to do with 2 of the participants. I advise those interested to attend a regular session first before signing for a full day to see if it resonates with you. Again I feel if the number of people attending had been kept to 20 ...it would be much better experience and more manageable for the instructor.

I took my YTT200 here with Simone MacKay and the School of Sacred Arts and it will forever hold a special place in my heart! The depth of wisdom shared and the care taken to do so deepened my personal practice but even more than that SOSA guided me back home to myself and I found a rich connection with life that was long forgotten. First of all, way too many people. Second, the teacher I think her name was Denis something like that she was rude and arrogant. Most of the class she was doing nothing, mainly it was self taught class. I told her Iam new to yoga and I asked her what equipments I would need? She told me that she is on her break and she will be back to me meanwhile she was talking to her son. She acted unprofessional and never came back to me.

Hey as a loyal Ecstatic Dancer I would love to say that Lion Galban last set (Friday ecstatic dance) was a truly meaningful experience for me. The care he put of bringing the community together deeply touched me. His music was great and the sound healing was special. Hope he gets to paly more often Yoga Barn!

Not helpful, not informative... also the person reponsable for the shop was annoying.. every time I approached her products someone was controlling my every move behind my back. After all, can't blame her. During the last evening class my umberella and shoes had been stolen. There was also this young couple trying to sneak out the restaurant without paying. The problem is that in these kinds of places you also get loads of people ..

The actual facility is a quiet, shady, sanctuary from the chaotic hustle and bustle of the main streets in Ubud. The amount and variety of classes is superb! I thoroughly enjoyed classes with Levi, Emily, and Greg! Levi's cacao ceremony and shamanic yoga flow was an incredible experience that I will remember forever! The food in the cafe is mouth-watering and of high quality! The only suggestion I have is for the staff at the reception to be a little more friendly, inviting, and welcoming when new customers arrive. I was barely greeted, asked my name, and then quickly ushered to wait outside alone....at first I thought they might not have my reservation. Overall I'd go back in a heartbeat!!

Amazing venue massive, slightly confusing for the first time as they have 4 receptions or something! Great array of classes throughout the entire day! Classes are a little full for me 40-50 deep is not something I am used to. But the ambience is amazing! For beginner you may want to go for one one on one or personal but medium and above yogi's great!

I really like the actual facility but I did not get any real benefit from the shamanic breathing course I took. I found it strange, but I saw others who really enjoyed the class. The facility is spacious and offers a retreat from the busy city. There are places to sit down, get some food and drinks. I would say, it is well worth a visit. You can buy a package deal for classes and they also offer some different options all yoga related. Go enjoy!
