Camp Poe

I had a fantastic time at Camp Poe. The location is perfect with only a five minute walk to 2 different surf spots, they have good surf and yoga instructors and a huge selection of boards. The food is amazing especially the fish BBQ. There are also loads of activities you can get stuck into so you always have options on things to do. The camp has a very relaxed vibe and it's jungle setting is very unique. Hope to visit again soon!

Beautiful place with lots of green, cute little tents, and a nice pool. Staff was nice and helpful. Surf classes with Bruno were fabulous. Yoga was also good (the yoga shala is beautiful!) although I would have wished for a bit more variety. Food (buffet for breakfast and dinner) was always very tasty and the kitchen staff is amazingly friendly.

We really loved this upmarket place the relaxed vibe the design and the great staff! Large and beautiful community space in the main building - large sofas to hang out after a good surf. Lessons are held on their own boards and for all levels. They offer a lot activities to keep you amazed beyond surf - all posted at some whiteboards. We had some SUP action and even combined SUP&Yoga exercise in the sunset... also for Yoga they offer a large variety to of styles to choose from - including some styles from Sri Lanka. We loved how the trainers setup the sessions and it was always great experience. For the meals the Billard table is converted to the food presentation and it’s great food. The young chef is talented and full of enthusiasm and love for food - same is true for the rest of the local staff. The management team helps you and really wants you to have a good time :) yes we had - thanks a lot.

A really special place in the stunning nature of Sri Lanka’s southcoast. Ben and the whole team made me feel like being part of a wonderful family. Sleeping in a tent is such a nice experience and the beds are very cozy. Food is so delicious and surf and yoga classes are totally worth it! Thanks for everything, I will definitely come back!

I had the best time at Camp Poe. I came for thr surf however fellnin love with the yoga too! The yoga teachers are so passionate and knowledgeable. The space we practiced in is beautiful and surrounded by nature and animals. Bruno and Tom were the best surf instructors! Bruno helped me so much with inproving my style. He’s really amazing. The whole staff is super sweet. I really loved meeting everyone, especially the host Mica. She guided us through the whole camp and planned out the best social dinners. It was the best week I had in Sri Lanka. Planning to come back in November!

Camp Poe was a truly amazing experience. You will find your inner peace with the morning yoga lessons that sometimes come with wild monkeys jumping around, with the delightful vegetarian food, by chilling by the beautiful pool or simply by laying on the most comfortable couches in all Asia (and trust me I've tested quite a lot of couches). The surf lessons are really good: we were all beginners and all managed to stand on the board during the first lesson! Ben and Till made us feel like we were a family and it was hard to leave! Go there, you won't regret it :)

Great atmosphere, cool staff and people there. Tents are comfortable, and the food was great. Only negative thing was the limited choice of surf spots. There is one withing walking distance, but no transports to other spots.

Really enjoyed my stay at Camp Poe. Loved the community vibes and comfy tent accommodation. There are so many activities offered besides yoga and surfing which I liked. The full day SUP tour with Kevin and Dama was for sure the highlight of my trip. The food is really, really delicious although not always catered well for vegetarians (e.g. If there is a fish BBQ then there is no alternative except the regular side dishes). In comparison to other surf camps the surf lessons are just ok and need improvement in terms of structure. If you are an experienced surfer you might not care so much but as a beginner I wish I had more guidance on my technique etc. Lastly, be aware that the camp is right next to a train track and the first train will pass through at 5:30 in the morning. Better bring some ear plugs ;)
