The Nuga House

Although I didn’t stay there we had the opportunity to have two meals which were amazing. The food was awesome! Creative, fresh, flavorful and very clean. Atmosphere in the public area was great and the owners are extremely hospitable. Definitely will stay there next time I am around

It was a beautiful place.. A well designed simple villa with just the right amount of space and seclusion. It was a calm oasis in that area There are little things that needs to be improved but from the looks of it, they've sorted them out in the new wing...

I didn't sleep at nuga house because I already had a room. The welcoming is warming, the food is healthy and delicious. So if you re willing to Chill, read a book with delicious beverage, be surrounded by nice people or do some yoga in this chilling place

After two and a half week traveling through Srilanka we ended up in The Nuga House, after a warm welcome with a fresh juice we felt immediately relaxed in a good atmosphere. Tom and Magali made a little paradise: the rooms are spacious, clean and confortable, the pool is great to chill and the living-eating area (Don't forget to ask for the coconut iced latte!!) is very homie plus the amazing possibility of doing yoga upstairs (thank you Magali!!) and the closeness to the beach where you can surf :D On the other hand, the communication and the service is excellent. Love the staff, the dogs...everything we asked for was easy peasy and no problems at all (scooters, extra towels, whatever) For sure, if we come back to Srilanka we will stay at The Nuga House :) Después de dos semanas viajando por Srilanka, llegamos a The Nuga House, con una cálida bienvenida acompañada de un zumo recién hecho, notamos una atmósfera buena y relajada. Tom y Magali han construido un pequeño paraíso: las habitaciones son espaciosas, limpias y cómodas; la piscina es genial para relajarse y el área de estar-comedor (No olvidéis de pediros el Coconut Iced Latte!!) es súper acogedor además de la fantástica posibilidad de hacer yoga en el piso de arriba (gracias Magali!!) y la cercanía a la playa donde poder surfear :) Por otro lado, la comunicación y el servicio es excelente. Adoramos al personal, los perros...Cualquier cosa que pidiésemos era fácil y sin problemas(motos, toallas extras, lo que fuera) Por supuesto, si volvemos a Srilanka, nos alojaremos en The Nuga House :)

My friend and I attended yoga at The Nuga house guided by Magali. We are beginners and pratciced yoga maybe three times total before we came to Sri Lanka. We stayed 4 days here and had 4 classes. Magali is nice, patient, easy to understand. Every time we did finish class we felt relaxed, peacefull and calm. She would interact with every person during class, show you how to practice better, how to do it properly. She showes easier and more complex poses so depends of your body and flexibility you can pratcice yoga without hurting yourself. All we can say is that we wish we could stay more and practice more, because Magali is amazing teacher and it is really worth it coming to Sri Lanka even just for yoga retreat. Who ever stays in Ahangama area shoud attend her classes. We recomend her 100%. Thank you so much Magali and see you in Tel Aviv Suzana and Marylou

Durch einen Fehler vom Besitzer wurde doppelt vermietet und man hat uns rausgeschmissen. Ja, richtig gelesen. Nachdem wir 17 Tage ( ! ) dort gewohnt haben, hat man uns einfach vor die Tür gesetzt und das eine Nacht vor Abreise! Ich denke das ich deshalb zwei Sterne abziehe ist verständlich. Den dritten ziehe ich für die " " "Hotelmanagerin" " " ab. Diese war im Urlaub und kam erst eine Woche nach uns. Sie ersetzte den Inhaber bzw dessen Aufgaben und veränderte das Klima nachhaltig negativ. Ihre pubertierend männeranbiedernde Art ist gerade für Frauen befremdlich. Aber Achtung, jetzt kommt´s: Ich habe noch nie eine Hotelmanagerin gesehen, die im Restaurantbereich Sport macht. Wenn die gute Frau nicht im Badeanzug die Angestellten delegierte, machte Sie Show-Situps am Pool oder Bauchübungen in der Nähe der Esstische. Gerade wenn braungebrannte Surfer morgens Ihren Kaffee schlürfen gehts los. Wer das mal erleben will: einchecken. Den letzten Stern abzug gibts für die Nachbarn. Diese haben zwei mal gegen 22.00Uhr angefangen Holzplatten zu sägen und einmal 0.30Uhr zu zwanzigst ( ! ) Rugby gespielt. Lautstark versteht sich. Es ist eine Art Surfcamp und je nach Gästelage kann man auch mal richtig Pech haben. Der Inhaber vom Nuga House hat hier keine Ansage gemacht. Der Wachmann hat keinen Piep von sich gegeben. Ich musste selber rüberlaufen und dann gings auch, nur leider war ich danach knallwach. Den einer Stern gibts einzig und allein für die Sauberkeit, das Essen und das Personal. Obwohl das Personal eigentlich 5 Sterne verdient hat. Die drei Angestellten sind absolut Spitze. Sehr blickig und sehr sehr nett! Nuga House, wir sehen uns wohl nie wieder. Sport frei und Grüße aus Potsdam.
