We visited Sri Lanka a few months back and ended up at Amangalla for the last three nights of the tour! We wanted to end the trip on a High note and our travel consultant at the time suggested this and boy were we pleased! The Ambiance , the service , the food and the history of the hotel itself was just breathtaking! Being a History buff, my husband loved everything about the place! We stayed at one of the suites and it was just magnificent. The hotel staff suggested so many activities during our days at Amangalla, however since we had already booked most of our tours for our stay with our Local Travel agent (Sri Lanka In Syle), we were unable to try those offered by the hotel! But nevertheless appreciated the efforts in giving us suggestions. My personal favorite was the whole ambiance at night at Amangalla! And ofcause the Spa! Just amazing! We were skeptical travelling given what happened last April in Sri Lanka, We were even going to cancel our trip but decided to push through in the end! And we are so glad that we went ahead with our plan! Once we were in Sri Lanka, the hospitality we got really put us at ease! It has really taken awhile for me to put this review up but it is well deserved!

This Aman property had a tremendous amount of historical charm. The service was very good . the room which was upgraded was a bit small and sparse, but had incredible wood floors and a beautiful balcony overlooking the pool area. The staff was attentive and always willing to assist anyway they could and the GM was very professional. The breakfasts and lunch were very nice on the open lobby level. We did opt for thei Sri Lankan special dinner which had a dozen or more specialities of which most I could not eat, which was disappointing. Ther was no gym nor air conditioning in the common areas and lobby restaurant which was uncomfortable even in February. There was no TV , but the hotel did have WiFi. WE did want to use the spa facilities but they were booked so did not have the opportunity to see/ review. The butler for our room was exceptional and took us on a walking tour or the historic fort area for 1 1/2 hours. We liked this hotel more than the Amanwella but again found it wanting with regards to other Five Star Deluxe Hotels like the Four Seasons hotels which we have stayed at on all 5 contingents.

Only stopped in for drinks on the terrace. Drinks, service and attentiveness of staff all top notch. Deserves it's reputation for quality. Decor also of highest quality, randomly had opportunity to listen to guest playing the grand piano, entertaining but no Elton John.

This is our 8th Aman property. Set in a historic property (former Dutch administration office) everything is immaculately kept. Our suite was large, and so very comfortable. Beautiful furnishings. Everything works. I especially liked the spa. While there are treatments available, I took advantage of the sauna, steam room and whirlpool - all private! Be sure to book it ahead. It was like having a private spa. And the service is second to none. There are so many people waiting to help, including 2 people dedicated to the half dozen rooms on our floor. Every time you enter the hotel there is a cold towel waiting for you. Need something? Just ask. OK, staying here is not cheap, but you get the clear sense you’re getting something for your money.

We didn't stay at this hotel, but on a recommendation, we had dinner in the hotel restaurant. Be warned, by Sri Lankan standards this was expensive, approaching London prices. That said, it was worth it. The food was excellent, as was the service. The menu provided a good choice of international cuisine. The setting is an old colonial building with beautiful wooden floors and furnishings, whiteite tablecloths and an unhurried, relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately, there's no air conditioning, but you can't have everything!

2 weeks ago I stepped into a time machine and travelled back into the 17th century. The sunset was absolutely mesmerizing when paired with the beautiful colonial rooftops and ocean view. The decor were simple but yet exquisite and I’m still drooling over those tasty afternoon scones. The butlers were incredibly insightful and helpful. This Galle trip was already a lot of fun but Aman’s hospitality made this trip even more memorable. Thank you!

Beautiful hotel in the Galle Fort, full of charme and traditional colonial feeling. We loved our stay there and the rooms are beautifully appointed and service is to the level you would expect for this category (and price). Expensive but worth the money!

We stopped by for drinks, had two cocktails (very pricey for Sri Lanka) but the decor and service was exceptional. We even got treated to a tour and history of the premise which was an added bonus! I can see why this hotel is so expensive to stay in!

Words just fail me! This was one of the most incredible hotels I've ever stayed in. The location in terms of access to the old town can't be beat. Aside from the gorgeous structure, gardens and amenities the staff is incredibly well trained and accommodating. The manager, Peter, is a gem and a real keeper. He was friendly and attentive and obviously right on top of everything. The hotel itself is magnificent and the rooms are luxurious with impeccable housekeeping. The food is excellent. My only disappointment was that, although the veranda is wonderful, the noise from the traffic detracts from the overall dining/drinks experience. Otherwise this place is perfection itself.

As part of our Sri Lankan honeymoon, we decided to stay at Amangalla and we weren't disappointed – the service was beyond exceptional with personalised touches throughout our entire stay. If you get the opportunity to stay in Aman hotels, do so. Petar, the GM was superb, personally introducing himself. You can see he's so passionate about the hotel and lead his team with confidence and enthusiasm. Our room was gorgeous with colonial furniture and pieces. It really felt that you could have stepped back in time. The food was delicious – we particularly loved our Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve with all the trimmings! And, it was a lovely touch to be entertained by the local choir singing Christmas carols. A very special thanks to Nalin, our butler. Such a kind man who truly wanted to make our honeymoon a special one. Nothing was too much trouble and was always ready to help us with any issues. Definitely do the fort tour with your butler if you get the opportunity. It was so fascinating to hear about the area's history. A must. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Thank you to the entire team, you really made our honeymoon so magical.
