The Kandy Samadhi Centre

We stayed at the KSC for 6 nights and did a 5 day treatment which was magical! The place is gorgeous; beautifully designed with all the antique features and in the middle of the forest which is very peaceful and lush. Being so connected to nature is wonderful when you do a treatment like this. The staff is very friendly and helpful and always available with a big smile. We got upgraded which was a nice surprise and they helped us make travel arrangements for the next part of our trip. The food is incredible!!! And the massages are otherworldly. Dr Silva knows what he's doing but unfortunately I found him a a little difficult to understand the way he spoke fast and mixed in Singhalese words when he spoke. There were other guests who had a hard time not being able to shower for several days (something that is required so the oils work better on your body) and seemed a little uncomfortable with the facilities but we loved the authenticity of this place and were very comfortable. We will definitely try to go back, next time long enough to do the panchakarma.

The Kandy Samadhi Center is furnished throughout with fine antique furniture and artefacts which the owner has sourced over many years from different parts of Sri Lanka.It was a delight to meet someone who is so keen to preserve the cultural heritage of his country. The room we had was very comfortable and filled with beautiful antiques. We enjoyed excellent authentic home cooked Sri Lankan food. We would definitely stay there again and might even go out of our way just to repeat the experience.

This is as close to heaven as it gets my friends. Very strong vibration from madre tiera here. Strong, still and alive. If I lived nearby I would visit every weekend. Time completely detached and committed to reconnecting to nature is no longer a luxury but a necessity these days. It's a great place to go to renew all the qualities in life that matter most. Which are often those we neglect the most. It is a living meditation. Perfect for inward reflections (and also plenty of organised physical activity options as well as doctor supervised, tailored ayurveda plans). If you are similar to me and prefer trees to people, go here. If you are not like me at all, and haven't spent time looking at trees in years or maybe your life, you need to visit Samadhi most. You can stay connected via wi fi and will probably end up loving it the most. I would deem Samadhi deeply nourishing. I think it gives each guest exactly what they need. The pure harmony of the dwellings with the environment and the imagination and simplicity and understated artfulness of each unique room demonstrated to me, nothing short of pure devotion of the creator, a prayer. Honestly mind blowing pieces of art and a rare gift, enhanced further by the music of the river as a backdrop heard from everywhere and running through the sanctuary. I visited only a few days but left with profound clarities and for me, well I received a much needed remembering that devotion is my favourite word and simply what I want most. If I could create anything in my dreams, it would be precisely this. Thank you Waruna.

We had a wonderful stay at Samadhi center. The staff was super nice and the food soooooo good ! The setting totally fits into nature, every object has its own place and they feel alive. We treated ourselves with the full Ayurvedic massage treatments for 4 full days and totally felt the difference afterwards. The doctor and his team are very competent and nice. The massage areas were very clean and you melted into nature during the massage. We already miss the cats and dogs, the fireflies at night, the sound of the wind on the trees and nature’s heartbeat. Thank you all for the great experience and we hope to come back again ! ??????

We stayed in Sri Lanka for 2 weeks and stayed here for 3 nights. Our best memory stayed at Samadhi Centre! If you wanna get away from city you must come here and enjoy the nature, yoga, Ayuveda treatment...etc. The Manager "Athula" is a very kind person, special thanks to him for his hospitable. He is very patient, when you need him, he is everywhere ! We will definitely come back again

We stayed for a week at this beautiful down-to-earth oasis just north of Kandy. Waruna and his team are delightful hosts and provide a healing space rooted in Ayurvedic practices. We loved doing yoga each morning and getting daily massage. This is not a pretentious place—and that’s what’s so special about it. We spent hours sitting by the river just reading and drinking tea. It was a perfect place to refocus and recharge. I can’t wait to come back!

My favourite spot in Sri Lanka. A beautiful centre surrounded by the peace of the forest. A lake and stream where you can bathe, rooftop pavilion (with WiFi) to relax and a handful of individually designed rooms which are spacious, comfortable and beautifully designed with antique furniture and art. Bathtubs in most rooms. Healthy, nourishing and authentic Sri Lankan food. Already have our next visit booked and written in the diary!

Waruna has conjured a bit of heaven on earth set in on the hillsides outside of Kandy. A cadre of wonderful staff with the best Ayurveda doctoring and treatments with healing massages. A tranquility that will sooth your soul. The cuisine is a fusion of Sri Lankan spiced with tastes from all over the world. Whether taking a dip in the pristine stream or mediating in one of the many pavilions you will not want to depart. Wonderful cabins of all kinds to choose from for your stay.

Unique centre located 1hr drive from Kandy. The pavilions are amazingly decorated. The dining room is so cosy, you are surrounded by the forest. We loved reconnecting with our mind and soul (there is no wifi, phones in the rooms),doing the ayurveda treatment. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
