Stayed at Lilianfels last week and was taken aback by the lack of sanitizing in the downstairs dining area. A wet rag was used to wipe tables roughly after people left but no sanitizing spray was used. Leather lounge chair arms were not wiped over either. Everywhere we went inKatoomba was marvelous and fastidious cleaning evident, just not at Lilianfels. We the public expect a higher standard to be maintained permanently.
Darleys restaurant was an amazing experience. 5/5. I will go there again.
As for the High Tea, it was beyond a joke. Nothing special about that and lumped with large scones on bottom tray. Very poor.

Wow expectations were high for as great 4 days but was let down by poor service (bar), lack of on site parking (street paid), and a lift that was out of action, and room service removing the soap. The Lounge bar service, waited to be seated no staff anywhere to be seen and lots of uncleared and dirty tables (3pm), after being seating waited 10 minutes to take an order. Friday night after dinner, repeat performance but the music was good. The rooms are big and great views but to remove all but 1/2 cake of soap after cleaning seemed weird. Parking was impossible on site leaving no option but to park in the street, before 5pm meter paid parking only. The food at the restaurants was was great and the service there was refreshingly good, friendly. For a 5 star hotel it was very disappointing and expected much more. Can not recommend. ??

We had such a wonderful time at Lilianfels. It is the perfect combination of old-world charm and modern luxury. We had a room with a view over the valley and a spa bath, which made the stay even better. The rooms were large and well-equipped. The indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were a fantastic addition to our stay. We really enjoyed the High Tea and Jess was a wonderful hostess as we ate delicious scones and treats. Having multiple walking tracks through the Blue Mountains right outside your door and the gorgeous spring gardens on the property meant you could balance outdoor activity with indoor relaxation. Highly recommend it!

Really enjoyed the 5 star luxury of Lilianfels.
Service by staff very attentive. Sofi and many others went the extra mile every time.
Property in first rate condition.
High tea was a very enjoyable few hours. Endless coffee and tea to wash down a range of treats.
Unlike many others we observed who left food behind, our trays were completely empty at the end. That’s likely a good sign.
An offer to top up empty trays wouldn’t hurt once all is gone but then maybe you would never want to leave.

Lilianfels set the Bar at a fairly high level over 20 years ago and we were pleasantly surprised returning to find the hotel remains fresh, beautifully decorated, and with a team eager to make you comfortable.
The formal restaurant Darley's also remains a perfect example of an Australian Michelin starred level dining experience. Great wait team and food that is creative and "nouvelle".... And the fine dining experience is complete as the restaurant is located in the original Lilianfels home. Lilianfels and Darley's is a great double luxe option !!
