Rigpa offers a broad programme of courses, seminars and retreats designed to make the Buddhist teachings accessible and relevant to men and women of all ages, and from all walks of life. For those new to Buddhism, there are introductory courses, which explain how to meditate and give a general introduction to Tibetan Buddhism.
We also offer a complete and graduated training in the Buddhist teachings and practice. The ultimate goal is to guide and support students so they can receive the highest teachings in the Tibetan tradition, the teachings of Dzogchen, that lead to the direct realization of enlightenment.
A time to meditate For several years, the Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Center Rigpa offers everyone (and no cost) a time to meditate. These are animated meditation sessions that take place on Tuesday evenings from 7 pm until about 8:15 pm - 8:30 pm.
These sessions take place in three stages: first a presentation of the session by the facilitator, then the viewing of a teaching on meditation, finally a series of three periods of meditation of about fifteen minutes each separated by a Or two minutes of pause-stretching.
These sessions are a beautiful gateway to Tibetan Buddhist meditation. Without inscription or obligation, one comes there when one wants and can. And nothing to bring: chairs, carpets, cushions ... all the required equipment is at your disposal.
We all want to be happy but, often, the relentless pace of life and its challenges prevent us to turn towards happiness.By the wisdom of meditation, however, we can find peace and contentment. To our great astonishment, we discover that a deep tranquility is still there, with us, behind the whirl of all our thoughts and emotions. When we allow our mind to settle quietly in its natural peace, what happens then is quite extraordinary.
At the Montreal Rigpa Center, we invite you to come and discover the true meaning of meditation. This course was specially designed by Sogyal Rinpoche after many years of teaching in the West. It presents more than 2,500 years of Buddhist wisdom and experience in a way that is authentic, accessible and perfectly adapted to modern life. Consisting of five modules with five to seven sessions each, it offers a comprehensive introduction to meditation practice and shows how it can free our natural trust, compassion and creativity. By taking part in it, you will get an authentic experience of meditation as well as all the tools necessary to translate the benefits into every aspect of your daily life.Sogyal Rinpoche is a world-renowned Tibetan meditation master. He is also the author of the famous Tibetan Book of Life and Death.
