Durga’s Tiger School for Tantra Yoga and Shamanism is the first yoga school in Ecuador and South America that offers yoga teacher training certified by the Yoga Alliance , Yoga Alliance International and Yoga Alliance Europe.

Our Vision
The ever-smiling Durga Devi has the weapons to fight the demon in all possible forms. Durga gives his followers on the Yoga path the tools to fight our own inner demons in a gentle manner.Inn iconography the tiger stands for god’s grace. In the shamanic cosmovision of the Amazon the tiger stands for relaxed power in action, and patience. Like a tiger you sometimes have to wait until the right moment occurs. For us, the tiger is a bridge between Indigenous and Vedic wisdom.
Iris Disse is a composer, writer, radio producer, and filmmaker. In 1993 she got to know Tantra Yoga practice and philosophy with her partner David Höner. It changed her life in a profoundly positive way, and she saw that the different twines of what it means to be human are woven into a colorful tapestry, instead of shocking opposite and antipodes. Tantra Yoga is an amazing tool to become more integrated, and Iris and David have been teaching in variou schools and universities since 2006.
Durga’s Tiger School of Tantra, Yoga, and Shamanism is a relatively recently realized vision that has grown quickly, and now is becoming international. From the start we decided to be a YAI – Yoga Alliance International – certified school, as it helps teachers travel and proves the quality of their work. We choose glyph:YAI because it is the only international certification accepted by then government.
Iris and David’s realized vision is a school where students can develop their skills in awareness, spirituality, creativity, and the power to integrate their true self into society. We hope that this helps to create a more peaceful world where people their lives in creativity and harmony with the sacred law. For us, this includes the acceptance of co-responsibility for what happens in the world, and being a part of the solution, not the problem.
Durga’s Tiger School forms part of Casa Kiliku, a center focused on integral development, conscience, arts, and society. Examples of other activities include think-tanks, symposiums with social themes, and art festivals.
Arriving from Quito, you enter in Tumbaco through the Interoceánica, you will see Santa María supermarket on your right and you just follow straight on for about one kilometer more. You must turn right in the Guayaquil Street on the opposite site of “Gasolinera Primax” (gas station) by the “Semaforo” light. Drive towards the “Colegio Pachamama”, crossing a bridge over “Ruta Viva” Highway, until you get to a big football field in Rumihuaico area (Comuna Leopoldo Chávez). You go straight up to the hill, after 100 meters the street makes a Y split. Then you keep right (the oposite direction from Pachamama) up hill on the new paved road. You follow 1 and a half kilometers more or less and on the right side you see a blue house. Casa Kiliku is directly behind it. Look for the little sign that says “Casa Kiliku lote 169”. If you arrive by the Ruta Viva from Quito you take the entrance after “Intervalles”, just after the 8th Km. This entrance doesn’t have a sign it’s located between “Intervalles” exit and “Tola Chica” exit, it goes up to a bridge that connects with “Calle Carchi”. When you arrive up to the bridge you turn right and follow untill the Rumihuaico football field. From there you follow directions as it is explained up here. From the airport by the Ruta Viva you enter after “Tola Chica” exit. (KM 8th). When you get to the bridge that connects with “Calle Carchi”, you turn left. If you take the wrong exit and you enter from “Tola Chica”, you find another bridge where you can turn back and follow a lateral street of Ruta Viva untill the brige that connects with “Calle Carchi"
