Gaiatree yoga is for everyone.

No matter if you are ill or weak, young or well advanced in years, irrespective of your faith and believes, gender, nationality, or social background: You can succeed in yoga if you practice with focus. If you are new to yoga, welcome! Yoga can change your life. If you are ill it can help you feel better. Are you depressed, anxious, tired, or addicted? Do you suffer from back pain? Yoga can bring you relief. Regular practice can also be beneficial for persons with chronic problems such as arthritis, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, high or low blood pressure. In yoga, the understanding of health differs from western medicine. The holistic approach includes emotional wellbeing, mental resistance, joy, and spiritual growth. We work on a mental level, which has an effect on the body. You stretch and strengthen your muscles, which effects blood circulation, digestion, and breathing. You strengthen and calm your neural system.

Gaiatree-Yoga as therapeutic yoga.

This is not a usual yoga class. In fact, if you have a medical condition and attend a randomly picked yoga class you might suffer more than before. In some way, therapeutic yoga is comparable to an appointment with your physiotherapist or as rehab time rather than an actual yoga class. For people with serious medical conditions, yoga therapy is usually offered as an individual class or in small groups.

Therapeutic yoga is gentle and nurturing even though it can be a challenge, too. Our focus is on body perception and body posture, which lead to a relaxed and rhythmic breathing when combined with movement. Participants are taught how to perceive subtle sensations of their muscles or joints, organs, as well the inner experience of the mind. Furthermore, there is a strong emphasis on relaxation. The approach is individual and tailored to every participant’s needs, capabilities, and reactions. The teacher/therapist observes the students’ practice and determines contraindications.

In the beginning of yoga practice, every participant is invited to an extensive conversation. In the end, every student is provided with an individually tailored sequence of exercises, techniques and rules of conduct to implement in daily life. Regular consultations are part of the exercise plan.

Ayubowan Ayurveda Center

In the area known as the tri-border region of North Rhine-Westphalia, Sauerland and Hesse, Bad Berleburg awaits you with beautiful churches and home stores. Your Ayurvedic Hotel The small Ayurveda oasis Ayubowan is located near the city but offers a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Directly behind the hotel beautiful nature grows in the front yard and the newly planted bamboos thrive. How You Reside The family-run hotel has only 14 cosy rooms, 7 of which are double rooms (about 14 to 22.5 sq. m.), 3 are single rooms (approx 11 to 14.5 sq. m.) and 4 suites (bookable from 3 weeks, about 18 to 25 sq. m.). Each is individually and lovingly furnished to reflect the charm and atmosphere of Sri Lanka with shower or bath / WC, hairdryer, bathrobe, cable TV. Senior citizen and disabled-accessible rooms are available on request. Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, safe at reception. Dining & Leisure In the dining room of the Ayubowan you can experience the authentic Ayurvedic cuisine of Sri Lanka. After a briefing and a diagnosis from Ayurveda specialists you will recieve an individually tailored Ayurvedic type diet that is suitable and beneficial for your constitution. The meals are prepared by the Ayurvedic cooks with daily fresh ingredients. Ayurveda & Health The Ayubowan Ayurveda Centre with four treatment rooms is decorated in a Sri Lankan style, has a separate department on the ground floor of the house and is run by a professional team of Ayurvedic specialists, therapists and chefs from Sri Lanka. It offers authentic Ayurveda for body and mind in an attractive oriental atmosphere. Due to the small number of guests (12) at the Ayubowan Ayurveda Centre, each individual will get all the attention they need, which is essential for an authentic Ayurveda cure. Yoga and meditation are also available (some programmes are in German). Ayurveda is helpful for: arthritis, blood pressure (high or low), stiff neck, skin diseases, high cholesterol, sciatica, rheumatic pain and other joint pain, paralysis, stomach / intestinal problems, mental stress (depression, burn-out), migraine, nasal or sinus infection, nicotine addiction, back pain, insomnia, psoriasis, tinnitus. Leisure: The Drehkeute and the slate mine, the castle and the castle park of the Prince of Sayn-Wittgenstein are all worth a visit, and the ski resort of Winterberg is just 25 kilometres away. The surrounding area offers a thrilling picturesque landscape with many themed paths, such as the slate path, the Via Adriana, the sculptures way or the beautifully situated Rothaar steep path.
