Yog Ved Shala’s founder Shraddha Vora is a certified Sivananda Yog teacher and has spent more than ten years at the Iyengar School of Yoga, out of which she spent six years in Pune and had the privilege to study under Guruji Shri BKS Iyengar.
Shraddha is a devoted Vipassana meditator, which plays a big role in her personal practice, and thus in her teaching approach. In addition, Shraddha holds a diploma from the Tilak Maharashtra University in Ayurveda. She incorporates the knowledge and understanding of natural healing, compiled by Sage Patanjali, in all her classes, as she believes it to be of equal relevance as the study of Yog.
During our ‘Yog Immersion’ retreats, students can experience the Yog philosophy, movements, and spiritual aspects as taught by Yog Ved Shala and its partners. By opting for a conscious disconnect from everyday hectic personal and business lives, and by choosing to stay, eat, and practice within the sacred boundaries of the retreat location and group, participants find a well-deserved opportunity to deeply connect with themselves and likeminded others. This connection is the aim of our Yog Immersions, as we surround participants with nature, peace, and serenity. Specially designed for beginners, our retreats offer a great opportunity to get away, unwind, and experience the joys of outer and inner stillness that is the world of Yog.
The basis of our practice is understanding the true essence and meaning of Yog. Even though many of us focus on the physical aspects of asanas in class, we at YOG VED SHALA invite you to connect to the deeper dimensions of your body, mind, and soul at our Yog intensives. Over ten days, you will build and strengthen your foundation for a serious Yog practice in a holistic manner, and dive with us into philosophy, asanas, and chanting.
Staying true to our vision – to create strong practitioners of traditional and authentic Yog – we at Yog Ved Shala have adjusted our schedule to the challenges of the current pandemic. We now offer daily online groups as well as personalized classes for practitioners at all levels. At first glance, it may seem easy to attend a guided class from the safety and comfort of one’s home via a video-call experience.
