Spark your heart and mind through the practice of meditation
Shambhala Vision tells us that we can experience a natural source of radiance and brilliance in the world, which is the innate wakefulness of human beings. Located in the Heart of Marin County in Northern California, Tamalpais Shambhala is part of an international community of urban meditation and rural retreat centers founded by the late Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. In addition to free meditation instruction, offered at each of our public sitting practices, our center offers public meditation, a core curriculum of Buddhist and Shambhala teachings, as well as training in advanced contemplative practices.

Becoming Familiar with the Running Away

Where do I look for strength and in what do I place my trust?” The Buddha taught that flexibility and openness bring strength and that running from groundlessness weakens us and brings pain. But do we understand that becoming familiar with the running away is the key? Openness doesn’t come from resisting our fears but from getting to know them well.
