Shambhala vision is rooted in the contemplative teachings of Buddhism, yet is a fresh expression of the spiritual journey for our time. The Shambhala Center of Minneapolis is part of an international community of urban meditation and rural retreat centers founded by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche.
At the Shambhala Center of Minneapolis, we offer a place to learn to meditate and practice with others, and to take classes and programs in Buddhism and the Shambhala tradition. Some classes or gatherings are offered on Zoom alone or in a hybrid format. See Programs and Ongoing Offerings and our monthly calendar for program details and registration. We are located at 2931 Grand Street NE, Minneapolis, MN, 55418. Our email address is [email protected].
Sunday mornings are an opportunity for our community of meditators at all levels of experience to practice together. People curious about or new to meditation are welcome to join us! A meditation instruction is available for newcomers, if desired. If you would like to meet with a Meditation Instructor, just ask our staff person in the entryway. There is no charge for meditation instruction. See more information here.
Monday evenings are a time for open sitting practice and an engaging discussion over a cup of tea. This program is free and open to all levels of experience. Beginners are especially encouraged to attend. See more information here.
Meditation Instructors are also available for ongoing instruction and consultation. If you would like to set up an ongoing relationship with a meditation instructor, please see more information on the What We Offer page and email [email protected].
COVID-19 guidance: If you are more comfortable wearing a mask inside our center, please do so. It is optional.
