Yoga and Meditation offers community classes and events around with the hope of sharing the wonderful gift of yoga and meditation with anyone and everyone regardless of the individual’s experience level. YOGA ASANAS Yoga asanas (exercises) increase flexibility, strengthen and tone muscles, balance hormones, cleanse and flush all the internal systems of the body, calm the mind and reduce stress. Our classes at ASMY are non competitive and focus on safely progressing from easy to more challenging poses. Classes are suitable for all levels and include kirtan, meditation and relaxation. MEDITATION Meditation not only calms the mind, allowing you to relax, it provides insights into the workings of the mind and emotions. It further helps you develop clarity and wisdom, gaining a greater understanding of life. Through meditation you can experience inner peace and lasting happiness by reawakening your natural spiritual consciousness and becoming self-realised. KIRTAN Kirtan is the singing of ancient Vedic mantras, spiritually uplifting songs, prayers and the Sacred Names of the Supreme. Rather than being a type of performance, Kirtan is a journey of self discovery. It is the most powerful and enjoyable form of meditation. By meditating on these sacred sounds we reach a state far beyond the stress and worries of life, gain deep spiritual insight and inner happiness.
