Welcome to Rig Pilates! We created this guide for our new clients to make your first visit pleasurable, stress free and easy. Please read through before coming in for your first class or private session and don’t panic, we are always available via email or in person at the studio, if further information is needed. We are a small, boutique studio located close to the heart of the city.
We are passionate about Pilates and functional movement. We know how important it is to find a studio that suits you and your goals best, that’s why we encourage our clients to do their homework first. Not all Pilates is equal, and in this day and age of a growing health & fitness industry, there are a lot of poor quality places around.

Reformer Equipment Class - These classes use exercise progressions, allowing options to adapt Pilates movements to meet our student’s preference, fitness level or physical limitations. You’ll feel muscles working while you become more familiar with the Pilates Method and apparatus. Exercises will be safe and simple, yet effective to challenge students appropriately from head to toe. This is a fun and supportive level to begin building Pilates strength and balance while improving flexibility and core muscles.

Adding the Jumpboard to our Reformers brings additional plyometric and cardio benefits to Reformer Pilates. The additional upper body exercises, along with the range of movement and control required, will challenge your muscles, body awareness and core control significantly more than a regular cardio class will.
Is it right for me?
Try Cardio Reformer if you’re enjoying your Reformer Pilates sessions but are looking for more variety in your routine, or for more of a cardio workout. This is not a class for complete beginners; you should have a few classes under your belt, be reasonably body-aware, and be looking to work harder and push yourself further.
What will it be like?
An unapologetically demanding workout. The cardio/plyometrics/pilates combination is every bit as tough as it sounds. The routine involves lots of jumping, kicking, pressing, lifting and rotating movements, all designed to challenge and fatigue. So expect to sweat, and feel your legs (and lungs) burning.
Results and benefits
The combination of Reformer Pilates, Plyometrics and Cardio is a great way to help you push past any plateaus in your training, while the extra variety will help keep you interested and motivated.
Expect to see improvements in muscle tone, strength and integration, core activation and cardiovascular endurance, along with better functional body awareness, and with it, reduced pain from any postural misalignments.
You will remain engaged mentally and physically while reaping the benefits all pieces of apparatus (Reformer/Tower/ExoChair) in one class. Please note THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER CLASS. This class will vary every time, addressing the body as a whole. Be prepared to spend half of the class on each piece of apparatus lengthening, strengthening, and isolating every part of your body. You will feel completely lighter and taller by the end of this class. Great on any day that you need that full Pilates balance. This class tones every major muscle group as well as the abs and core musculature while paying special attention to proper execution, biomechanics, alignment and symmetry so that you leave the class feeling rejuvenated, balanced and energised! Reformer classes are a prerequisite for admittance.
