Ananda Yoga Space

I took the Oni Yoga class today at 12pm & it was great. Despite the language barrier (I speak English, some spanish, no Portuguese), I was able to pay for my single class ($40R), borrow a mat and practice. The website says this class has intermediate to advanced poses. However, the instructor asked the class what they were up for and I was allowed to communicate (by hand gestures) my perefence of level (high, medium or low) and of course I recognized the word "vinyasana". So she lead us through an intermediate vinyasa flow. 👍🏿 She started us (about 10 of us) with some meditative breathing in easy pose, then sun salutations to get us warmed up, then a variation of asanas. They included chair pose, warriors 1 & 2, reverse warrior, humble warror with the bind, modified side plank & head stand to name a few. I was able to workup a good sweat, work out a few kinks and be challenged. The flow was a quick pace with poses held just long enough. The studio is on the 1st floor inside an apartment building. Super easy to find using uber/google maps. And the front desk guy will point you in the right direction. It was clean and welcoming. The ceiling fans were not on which made for a "warm yoga" class this rainy day. The soundtrack played was Sanskrit singing. At the end, the curtains were closed and the lights turned off for savasana.

Wonderful Yoga School in the heart of Copacabana. There is no better place! Teachers are 1000. The environment is clean, familiar and super welcoming.

I've been attending Ananda since 2014 and I'm still at the Studio now under new management. The space is cozy, the teachers are of excellent quality, attentive, there are different levels of classes for people with different needs and the administration is super organized. In addition, there are classes at different times, which gives students the flexibility to adapt to the day-to-day hustle and bustle, even when you are out of town. I took in-person classes before 2020, I went through the pandemic with online classes and, after the possibility of returning, I continue to take classes, sometimes in person, sometimes online and sometimes recorded classes. Best possible service. Super recommend, take a trial class and enroll.

Spacious, bright, airy and beautiful. Perfect both for self-connection and for transformative exchanges with the team of teachers. Classes cover different styles, serving beginners, intermediate and advanced audiences in the practice of yoga.

I have been a student for years and my experience at Ananda has always been wonderful. Patient, open-minded teachers who don't try to fit students into any pattern; in addition to space (both at the old and current address) cozy and perfect for practicing. Love much.

Ananda is a wonderful space, with a perfect structure for activities and a differential of many ropes for the complete practice of Yoga. The teachers are highly qualified and it's a space where I feel at home! Also perfect for those who need to rent for specific activities/courses. I highly recommend!
