Dhamma Suttama Vipassana Meditation Centre

I spent 10 days retreat at this centre. but instead of commenting on my course I took there, I will comment on the place and service. The centre is very clean and organized. It's maintained and used by volunteers and I'm quite impressed on how good the place is. The bedding can be bit dirty, but bring your own blankets, bedding covers and pillow covers. I am a foodie and a hardcore meat eater. But I had amazing Vegterian food and I didn't even miss meats during my retreat. If you ever have uncomfortable pains or anything when meditating, please let teacher know or mention it in your application. They are really good at accommodations - I am saying this as a deaf person. I was also their first meditator who was deaf. But they did so great. So don't get discouraged from another review below. Horrible place/experience!! The food is really terrible and they barely feed you. They are so cheap that they do not even put the heat on in dead winter. The beds are dirty and old and uncomfortable, and the staff were not accommodating or very nice at all. They leave out specific details on the website that trust me, you would want to know beforehand. The spiritual leaders were not qualified and I did not enjoy being followed into the washroom, among other things, by their slave managers. You get in trouble for everything you do that is not the way they want (even out of meditation) and they are emotionally unavailable and non-supportive. You are treated with no respect or dignity and it is very culty. Not a relaxing site nor an enjoyable experience at all! DO NOT GO!!!! I WARN YOU!!!

Vipasanna is a place to quiet your mind and meditate. The volunteer ran facility is very clean ,beautiful and healing. The food they serve is high quality vegan and freshly prepared. Go here to help developers yourself and gain more insight into who you are. Everyone should go here at least once to give yourself a chance to work things out within your mind.

My first retreat at the center was in the winter of 2013. In that 10 days I learned a lot about myself: question who I am, notice my thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations and stay with them until they dissipate – research says it takes less than 90 seconds and that is true, as miraculously as it seems.

This is a great place to learn how to truly meditate. The center is well maintained. If you are considering going you should look at the code of conduct. The tools that you get from the center are wonderful and can be life changing if you apply the knowledgeable that your giving. I definitely recommend this place. It was a life changing experience for me and only have good things to say about it.

One of the most life changing experiences that I have ever had. Strongly encourage to take the 10 day course that they offer. It helps you gain insights about yourself and provide you with technique that help you better cope with life. They serve only vegetarian dishes. I think they taste amazing. The environment is very clean and the lodging is neat as well. The centre is taken care of by volunteers and everyone does an amazing job. The surrounding space is quite and makes it a perfect haven for a meditation centre.

Wonderful park like setting perfect to practice meditation. If you are unaware of the vipasana meditation practice, I highly recommend you to look it up. The place itself is an old ymca camp converted into meditation centre. Quiet peaceful and serene.

I attended my first 10 day sit here in the summer of 2016 and it was a great experience. Secluded in the mountains, it felt like I was entirely cut off from the rest of the world. Water runs from wells and tastes great. The facility and program was run well and many thanks to the staff. The food was awesome. The program seemed a bit formulaic but overall they provided a great atmosphere and accommodations. My only complaint would be that the walking trail was pretty small, but I imagine they have their reasons for that. I would definitely recommend this Vipassana center and thank them for providing such a great service.

This was my third 10-day sit, but first at this particular center. This is a wonderful place, everyone that I met here was so kind and helpful.The guidance I received here helped me to clarify and strengthen my current practice and understanding. The location and atmosphere was so peaceful. I will forever be grateful for being given the wonderful opportunity to practice here.

One of the best things you can do for yourself is to sit in and learn a powerful meditation technique in a 10 day course: a must have experience. The center at Montebello is full of metta and the teachers are very experienced. They know exactly how to guide you through your experience. The food is amazing and the center is growing very fast in dhamma. I have sat 3 courses at this center and am signed up for my 3rd, Sathi, course. Life-changing is the right word for this technique. My life is like day and night before and after practicing Vipassana. Thank you for all the generosity, love and kindness. Metta!

My experience from 10 days vipassana was good. 95% of the servers were great people. But there is this one white québécois guy who I think is the goon of the centre. If someone missed a mandatory meditation, this guy goes upto them and disciplines them is a way which breaks all that vipassana stands for. The management sends this guy if someone doesn’t show up so everyone is to be blamed for it. Apart from this it was a great experience

I did a lot of things there, I took time for myself and I relearned to live healthy with the technique of Vipassana meditation and with the help of the whole team of volunteers who are behind all this. Everyone in my class came out richer, and each one had their own benefits, according to the discussions I had with the extraordinary people I met. I have a huge debt of gratitude and after having given concrete results in my life, I will return to the center to give service and give to the next. I strongly recommend this experience to all those who feel the need. Good meditation! ??

A need to meditate; I received a 10-day training, vegetarian food, accommodation, everything is free. A donation can only be made at the end. I will return there to give my time as a volunteer somewhere in a similar Vipassana place around the world and will learn again about the training already received. Very important to know that it is in no way religious and even less a sect.
