I had a lesson with Kate on reformers today. She has a calm presence which helps you 'get in the zone' - the movement felt amazing; challenging yet relaxed. I felt light and graceful afterwards! Will definitely be back. 😍

Absolutely amazing 1-1 session on Zoom yesterday with the phenomenal Claire Sparrow. I started off feeling all the muscular and emotional discomfort of the current situation. I’ve been wanting to try reformer classes for years, but could just never find a class at a time that worked for me. The pop up orientation with Ria was perfect and at £10 was a great price to pay to just go try and see if I actually liked it. Well I got through the orientation and stayed and did a second class, so I can safely say the reformer machine and Rias gorgeous teaching skills and manner had me hooked. Can’t wait to have another go.

I’ve really enjoyed my time working with Dani at Chapel Allerton Pilates. I started going to Pilates to try and address my poor posture and reduce pain in my lower back. I’ve found my posture has improved massively since going to Dani’s class, and I don’t have back pain when I go to bed. On a personal level, as a mum of three, an hour Pilates with Dani relaxes me and provides me with some necessary calm. Dani is patient, supportive, attentive and I feel completely comfortable in the class. Thanks dani! �

I was one of the casualties of 'Black Ice Thursday' last week and have been hurting all over since I fell. I was in two minds whether to go to my usual Wednesday morning reformer class today but, knowing that my hurty hamstring felt better with use (and trusting Sarah implicitly), I decided to give it a go. Sarah was so supportive throughout and adapted every single exercise to maximise the benefit and minimise the pain. This evening I'm almost walking normally again and can straighten my leg properly for the first time in a week. This is on top of the amazing benefits I've already seen in terms of my strength, fitness and mobility. I'm so ridiculously happy to have found and be part of the Chapel Allerton Pilates family. You all rock

Chapel Allerton Pilates provides a highly personal and supportive experience. All the teachers I that I have worked with are very skilled. They are both challenging and kind. My hip and back pain has all but disappeared and I have developed much more strength for hill walking, cycling, running and cross country skiing. I am in my sixties and have enjoyed Spring Wall, Reformer and Pilates Gym classes for almost two years, in the Studio and via Zoom

Chapel Allerton Pilates is incredible - the whole ethos is more than a studio; it's a movement community. Everyone is welcome no matter their experience it is all met with care and personalisation. I have been attending classes since the opening year - my knowledge and appreciation of Pilates has grown through this time. The commitment to keeping people moving through the pandemic is second to none and has basically got me through the difficult days and motivated me to move more for my mental health and to support my future health. You should give them a try - there is something for everyone and you will be made part of an incredible family.

Chapel Allerton Pilates is a little oasis of personal care in North Leeds. The teachers are amazing and always attentive to any injuries or long term conditions of class members. Their knowledge is exemplary, as is their commitment to making every class enjoyable and doable! For me, it has been an absolute lifeline in enabling my joints to stay mobile and reduce my back and neck pain. The in studio classes on the reformer are lovely, my fellow Pilates participants make the class a lot of fun, and the zoom classes through lockdown allow us to keep our Pilates practice going in spite of being stuck at home! Highly recommended.

I was extremely impressed with a one-to-one assessment I had this week with Claire at Chapel Allerton Pilates. She was keen to understand my situation before we met, so I wrote her a rather detailed email. She also consulted with my osteopath. So when we had an hour together, she was effective and efficient. I felt she really took great care to figure out what will help me the most. I will be joining a Pilates class there in November and know that it is just what I need to continue my physical progress to having the best body I can considering everything. Thank you Claire! EDIT: After two years of weekly classes, I have more to add. I am SO much better physically that both my osteopath and my Chinese acupuncturist have remarked on my progress! I have more strength and stamina and manage my slowly aging body much better. The springs are the secret for me...shifting my muscles from weakness to stability. I am so grateful there are two special classes I can attend and have enjoyed the Wednesday class with Claire and now Friday's with Ria. This has done more for me than all the years of yoga!

Had a 1-2-1 with sadie and she was amazing! She made me feel very comfortable and the workout seemed so easy even though it wasn't. I can't wait to go back. I just wish it was more/better advertised and the facility itself had more of an introduction to the place and what to do when you get there.

Chapel Allerton Pilates is a home from home for me. I've always found exercise places a bit intimidating but I was at ease with the lovely Sarah Stonier from the very first second of the first class. Reformer Pilates has made such a difference to me too. I'm so much more supple and I've noticed my posture has improved too. Sarah's classes are amazing and I look forward to them every week. My Pilates class is as important to me as my regular massages and reflexology treatments; it's a fundamental part of my self-care routine.

Recently I thoroughly enjoyed 8 different sessions of Pilates during a week's stay in Leeds. Throughout that week I learned many different exercises which have given me a much better understanding of how to move my spine and relieve the tension in my lower back.Such a wide range of exercises on the mat and using equipment under instruction from both Claire and Danielle made me feel safe , at ease and well informed , my whole body is feeling the benefit of their holistic approach. I felt their classes were tailored to my needs and they were friendly and encouraging.The studio is very well equipped and will also be increasing in size in the near future. I highly recommend Chapel Allerton Pilates.

I've been attending weekly Reformer classes with Sarah Stonier for some years now, most recently at Chapel Allerton Pilates, and it's been a life-saver, keeping me mobile and flexible and leading an active life, even with an artificial hip and less than optimal knee joints! Sarah is so welcoming, friendly and above all knowledgeable. Her classes have room for humour and informality, along with the attention to detail she brings to the sessions. What impresses me most with Sarah, as well as the rest of the team at Chapel Allerton Pilates is the seriousness with which they take their own professional development – many weekends spent refreshing skills and learning new techniques, which inevitably feeds back into the classes. That's probably why she has such a loyal and devoted following. If you're new to Pilates or want to develop your practice then I'd strongly recommend giving CAP a try.

My back and neck problems have improved no end since starting Pilates. All the staff here are lovely; friendly, knowledgable, and absolutely love Pilates. When the classes went online because of covid I couldn’t attend my usual springwall session and my health definitely suffered. Then I found a mat class that I love just as much and my aches and pains are subsiding once more! Viva Chapel Allerton Pilates :-)

I started Pilates with Claire Sparrow post-natally over 7 years ago, attending Chapel Allerton Pilates soon after it opened. The place itself is immediately calming and conjours up the impression of a New York style studio. All staff are welcoming and kind. I attend mainly the Pilates Gym session with Claire and can honestly say that she is amazing in what she does. She is a true expert and has helped me/is helping me through some serious health issues. Claire always checks in for any new problems and intuitively reviews my body at a glance. She then adapts my gym programme weekly depending upon the outcome of her review. Pilates leaves me feeling taller, refreshed and able to face the rest of the day with grace, no matter what. I cannot thank Claire and Chapel Allerton Pilates enough.

I can't say anything other than fantastic!!! my classes with Sarah and Whitney have improved my pain, mobility and flexibility beyond belief!!! Sarah has worked on my core stability and Whitney has really allowed myself to be push and overcome not only the back pain but my mental guard to my back pain!! I don't know what I would have done without them!!!x
