I have had significant back problems for many years, and after recommendations from doctors that I try yoga, I checked out a number of Yoga teachers and decided that Maria would be the best choice to teach me yoga. Maria is a lovely person, who genuinely cares about teaching yoga:not just the teaching of asanas (yoga poses), but also about meditation, breath work, and the more spiritual aspects of the practice for those who wish to explore those aspects of yoga. She has helped me to develop strength and flexibility, which has helped reduce my back pain, and her work with me has resulted in specialist doctors that I have seen commenting on the appropriateness of her lessons for me, and they have recommended that I continue to work with her. I would have done this even without their support, as Maria has genuinely inspired me to develop a love for yoga, which I expect to become a much valued permanent part of my life. I cannot recommend Maria highly enough for the work she has done with me, and her support and commitment in getting back to me to about any questions I have regarding what I am learning between practice sessions are excellent. I find her YouTube and/or Insight Timer practices a wonderful addition to the sessions I have with her: her meditation and Yoga Nidra recordings are so calming and enjoyable to listen to and her yoga stretching and asana focussed videos are absolutely perfect for my home practice between my sessions with Maria. I really could not be happier to have found Maria as a teacher and guide for my first steps into the world of yoga.
