Yellow Yoga - Studio Sonne

The yin yoga class would’ve been nice if people actually had space to move. We were squeezed in super tight and latecomers almost couldn’t find a place to lay down their mat, people had to constantly move tighter to fit everyone. Not a great way to find peace.

I love this yoga studio, but it is always too crowded. On weeknights the room is so full you’ll end up knocking into the person next to you. Completely undermines the experience. I don’t understand why they don’t just limit it to maybe 5-10% of how many attendees they have at the moment, as it would massively improve the experience. Otherwise you’re clearly allowing the financial benefit of clogging the room with people outweighs the quality of the class.

Absolutely adore Yellow Yoga! I have been a regular student there for 8 (!) years, and have always enjoyed the self-empowering and thoughtful approach of the teachers I have encountered there. The space at Sonnenallee is beautiful in both summer and winter, and the stove fire in the cold months adds an incredible charm.

My favourite yoga community in Berlin! I have been going to this yellow yoga studio in Neukölln ever since they opened - and the "original" studio, Gelber Raum, in Kreuzberg too, for many years. I know that I will always enjoy a yoga class here and feel comfortable and welcome - the teachers are really friendly, kind and talented and teach all different types of yoga from ashtanga to yin, via restorative, kundalini and vinyasa. There are also weekly sound baths and special workshops throughout the year. I dont know of any other studio that has such a wide range of different styles, in such a beautiful studio environment. Also - Studio Sonne has a fireplace/oven! It feels amazing to go there in winter and get cozy by the fire with blankets and tea. Thank you yellow yoga for creating such a safe space for people to practice yoga together, where people are down-to-earth, caring and welcoming. Confused by the negative reviews until I saw they were all from people who arrived too late (!) or who couldn't find the entrance, which seems very unfair to the studio. The gate at the entrance and the door downstairs both have an automatic buzzer, so will open even if you arrive late - it's not that somebody is letting you in and then leaving you to stand in front of the door, it's just that many teachers - understandably - don't want to disturb the class by letting people in after they've already started teaching. Also if you arrive on time, it's easy to find the entrance because there are usually a lot of people going in at the same time.

Wonderful teachers, great variety of classes and a beautifully inclusive payment system. I especially love Valerie s classes but coming to this studio which feels more like a community means being in safe hands. Totally recommend.

the first studio I came to when I moved to Berlin. I thoroughly enjoy and cherish the space. in particular i am so grateful for the classes from Valerie, Katzi, Eric, Paula and Yaninna to name a few. the morning challenges are also wonderful. it's a treat to practice yoga in this space.

Yellow Yoga Retreat dedicated to nourish Resilience in August 2022 Gebhardshütte Odenwald has been a life changing experience for me, which brought more light and joy, awareness, helped me to grow spiritually. I practise Kundalini Yoga with my muched loved teachers Paula and Rebecca for over a year and went to retreat to enjoy retreat and intense training with my masters. They were giving amazing classes with pranayama, kriya and Gong bath. Special huge thanks to Yellow yoga for super yammi food they cooked fresh every day for breakfast brunch and dinner. Food was amazing with lots of variety in dishes and flavors. Accomodation has everything needed to be happy, comfy bed and shower, great garden and lot of areas to chill with journaling or book. Thanks to wonderful Victoria Simpson, I discovered incredibly powerful new tools like Kirtan and Silence Healing. The program of retreat has been great planned, so that we had 2 yoga classes a day, plus beautiful heart opening singing circles to close the day. We did hikes in amazing south German forests, were swimming in the lake, went to see old city and experienced wonderful nature around the house. Yellow yoga team, thanks so much, love you a lot, with you I always feel at home.

Amazing yoga studio in Berlin. Fair pricing, beautiful relaxing room (especially Studio Sonne) and great teachers! The Gelber studio is smaller and doesn’t have separate changing rooms but the classes offered are equally great. A good number of classes are taught in English which is perfect for non German speakers. Would definitely recommend this studio to all yoga lovers!

I have been in Sonnenallee studio three times. The place is amazing, it seems a New York open space, the teachers are amazing as well and very prepared. Unfortunately the negative aspect is that the classes are always overcrowded and you are not able to move freely and to be corrected by the teacher during the execution. With so many people, the air of the studio saturates immediately and this prevents you from breathing fully, which is the main aspect of the Yoga. Last but not least, the studio's hygiene is poor, the dust is present on the floor and it sticks on you when lie down on the ground.

Arrived at 17h30, was buzzed in the building… took me a while to find it building is very confusing because #67 is actually next door and there is only a small sign for the studio. There is no contact number. By the time I reached the studio (one floor), they refused me entry. Woman was very rude- why buzz me in at 17h30 if you’re going to deny me? Four other students were there as well waiting outside and denied entry. Isn’t yoga supposed to be about union?

A variety of different yoga styles offered at a reasonable, solidaric rate. Make sure to get there early enough, because once the classes are full (32 people), you won't get in - which is a standard practice considering every yoga studio has limited space.

Best yoga studio I have been to! Love the flexibility of schedule and teachers (pun intended). I find the students to be quite nice also! They will also work with your salary. The teachers truly care and are active in YY community.

My first time on Thursday, I couldn't get in as I arrived 3 minutes before starting the class, the door was already closed. Therefore I came today earlier, exactly 11 minutes before starting. The door was again already closed. Not loosing my time again here.
