I've been going to Yoga Vihar for 15 years now. I've attended Swami's yoga classes, philosophy courses and teacher training courses, and I've been on several of his group trips to India. Although I've only done yoga with Swami, I doubt you will find a better yoga teacher anywhere. He's not only excellent at teaching yoga asanas, his knowledge of yoga philosophy is astonishing. I've never asked a question he's been unable to answer. His knowledge of ayurveda is also extensive, and he helps many of us during the yoga classes with our aches and pains. He also has a very friendly personality and a good sense of humor. If you're interested in practicing or beginning to learn yoga, do yourself a favor and try Yoga Vihar.

Overall a great place to practice yoga that I would definitely recommend. The atmosphere, the competence and passion of the teacher, the variety of courses and the personal attention allow each participant, whether beginner or advanced, to get the most out of their practice and to grow beyond their limits. Try it, it's worth it ;-)

Yoga in the Yoga Vihar enables everyone (whether beginner or advanced) to develop their personal skills in asanas, meditation, prana, mantra... so everyone can find their personal relaxation in every yoga class. I have been to the yoga school three times a week for more than 15 years. For me it is the inner growth in the circle of friends, practicing yoga together on all its levels and all this with a lot of humor & laughter and empathy as motivation. Swami has a very big ego, he is the rooster in the basket. I felt that taking up space was undesirable. If he asked me a question, he would either answer it himself or not listen. I was there three times, after the fourth time I probably would have stopped speaking, therefore: never again, unfortunately.

Namaste! I have been attending Yoga Vihar for four months and I am almost 60 years old. I can recommend this yoga school to everyone: Swami is an excellent yoga teacher who meets the student where he is physically and mentally ... that's where he meets you to create much more than what you can ever thought. For a long time I thought that my body was no longer able to do so much and that I would no longer be able to do certain movements: What a mistake! Under Swami's guidance I can do many things and have corrected some misalignments that I had gotten used to incorrectly over the course of many years. Now I feel much better in my body.

If you want to do something for your health and well-being, the Yoga Vihar is the place for you. Swamiji offers young and old an infinite number of asanas and breathing techniques, exercises for physical and mental balance, mantras and meditations for a light-filled path. The overriding point is the varied teaching, motivating, carried by love, spiritual awareness and humor. Simply the best.

If you want to practice classic, traditional hatha yoga and also want to expand your knowledge of yoga, Swami and Yoga Vihar are the right place for you. I learn something new in each of his courses. Swami goes deeply into individual topics and needs and manages to motivate in a positive way. You draw from your incredible wealth of experience. I myself am now completing my yoga training with Swami. It is so nice to feel your own further development on the yoga path and the connecting power of yoga. Absolute heartfelt recommendation.

No two yoga classes are the same here, but after each one I feel like it was just right for me. So much empathy, so much knowledge and experience! And if an hour is occasionally led by someone who has been trained here, you have the opportunity to get to know the high quality of this yoga school from another side.

Seit über 10Jahren gehe ich nun in Swamis Kurs Yoga 50plus.,jedes Mal entspannt, gedehnt und glücklich wieder nach Hause. Der Anlass waren damals Rückenprobleme, die schon lange kein Thema mehr sind. Swami hat eine enorme Kompetenz in Yoga, Philosophie und Ayurveda,ein enormes Wissen über den menschlichen Körper und eine wunderbare Art,das alles zu vermitteln. Einziger Kritikpunkt? Ich hätte viel eher damit anfangen sollen..... großer Dank an den Meister.
