Ashtanga Yoga Center

Tanja was recommended to me before I moved to Germany 6 years ago and I've been practising there ever since. I like her style of teaching, she closely follows the Mysore tradition. There is a warm community of students at the school and a nice mix of advanced students and beginners of all different ages. I also like the location. Brüsseler Platz is fairly central and there's always space to lock my bike.

I happened to come to Tanja's shala back then. In March 2016 I had no experience with Ashtanga and Tanja took a lot of time to slowly introduce me. She is a super great teacher with heart and the right rigor ;) She motivates and gives good instructions for all exercises. Especially when you're not physically up to 100%, Tanja can give good advice and always offers alternatives. The structure of the lessons is perfect, everyone can adapt and expand their practice according to their strengths. Traditional Ashtanga in Mysore style will be taught. In addition, there are always great workshops, current newsletters and you can ask your questions at any time. She also speaks perfect english and habla espaniol por supuesto. A great school to learn the traditional Ashtanga yoga practice from scratch. Tanja is an incredibly experienced teacher (KPJAYI authorized) and, in addition to physical asana practice, she also shares deeper knowledge of yoga philosophy and its transferability into life with her students. The atmosphere in the Shala is very familiar and warm and Tanja approaches her students' practice individually and sensitively. In addition to our own workshops and talks, workshops with international teachers from the Ashtanga community also take place regularly. A wonderful yoga school. I have been taking lessons with Tanja since September last year and have now been able to integrate yoga into my everyday life. I really like the traditional way of teaching and I always feel like I'm in very good hands. You always get the support you need. It's also great to be able to take part in various workshops and courses from great external teachers and get a lot of input.

Over the last 2 years I have found Ashtanga Yoga Mitte to be a super pleasant Ashtanga studio under very friendly and competent management. Led classes, yoga nidra, meditations, talks and workshops take place regularly as part of the daily, traditional Mysore morning program. Tanja also offers yoga trips to India and Portugal. I am super happy to be able to deepen and expand my Ashtanga practice in the open and friendly yoga community around Ashtanga Yoga Mitte! I found that yoga shala (the studio) while visiting Cologne. I felt very comfortable since the teacher Tanja speaks several languages ​​and was able to help me in Spanish as I am almost a beginner in yoga.
