Offering the system sets of exercises and philosophical lessons pave the way to flourish the real purpose of yoga, which is none other than thinking and independent individuals, where the real teacher is the practice and the practitioner himself same.
Located in beautiful Santa Monica, CA, one block from Third Street Promenade, Naam YogaÂ® LA is a non-profit 501 c(3) yoga, meditation, research and healing center. Our spacious 7000 sq. ft. venue offers cathartic sun-drenched studios, a boutique, private healing rooms, a gracious communal area and over 100 classes a week.
Universally inspired, the center also offers a wide range of yoga disciplines, Universal Kabbalah workshops, dance and movement classes, Pilates, Zumba, and meditation. We are a welcome destination for thousands of students from all over the world taking part in our Naam Yoga and Harmonyum Healing certification programs, classes, events and workshops.
What Is Naam Yoga?
Naam Yoga merges the precise science of breath, sound, movement, and mudra therapy (hand postures) with the practical application of the laws of nature using the wisdom of Universal Kabbalah for total wellbeing and happiness.

Naam Yoga is also one of the fastest growing styles of yoga in the world. Since 2011, three world-record setting Naam Yoga classes dedicated to peace and healing, led by our founder, Dr Joseph Michael Levry, have taken place in Mexico City: Zocalo (12,000 people) in 2011; Revolution Monument (15,000 people) in 2012; and the Angel of Independence (21,000 people) in 2014.

Welcome to Hot Yoga Athens! My love and passion for yoga and Greece led me to the decision to return to my homeland and to devote my time and energy to what truly and fully makes me happy. From summer 2015, I took over Hot Yoga, aiming to create a beautiful and relaxing space, where each person can enjoy their practice, the services offered and to leave feeling rejuvenated. Having deeply rooted faith in the Hot Yoga team, and deriving from a desire for evolution and innovation, I believe that the space we have created is an ideal refuge for us all. About Niko After years of finance studies, BSCs, MSCs, CFAs, I decided to leave the busy lights of the City of London, in search of the inner light within. Initially trained in Hatha and Vinyasa flow (Sally Parkes â€“ UK), I have since studied Hot (Kristin Campbell â€“ Canada) and Pregnancy (Nadia Narain â€“ UK) with Triyoga, a world renounced yoga center, where I worked as a teacher. I continued my studies, in search of new and innovative yoga styles and schools and found: Broga (Matt Miller â€“ Los Angeles), a unique style targeted to Athletes and Budokon (Cameron Shayne â€“ Miami), a style with artful movement that incorporates Martials arts. More recently, I completed my 300hrs of training and graduated from the Jivamukti School of Yoga; a school that is considered to be one of the top worldwide. With this method, I found my spiritual home and the light I was searching for in my personal, as well as professional teaching life. Graduating at the feet of my mentors; Sharon Gannon, David Life, Rima Rani Rabbath and Moritz Ulrich. Currently undergoing 500hrs-advanced training in Tantra Vinyasa with the world renowned Sianna Sherman. With over 1,000hrs of training, and following 11 years in London, I decided to change my home base and moved back to my mother land Greece. I bought Hot Yoga the brand and Hot Yoga Athens, the studio in Psychiko. I now spend my time between London and Athens, teaching classes internationally in Berlin, Japan, Bali, New York, Boston and California. In the past few years, I have undertaken a series of seminars, workshops, trainings and taken classes with a list of internationally acclaimed teachers and masters of their craft. I have enjoyed the fast and furious side of vinyasa flow with celebrity American born and London resident Julie Montague, the fast and fun side of Rocket yoga with the queen of Rocket â€“ first line up of teachers by the founder of rocket Lary Sulz; Amme Poulton, the slow and controlled creative flow of the awesome Naomi Absalom, the handstand king Patrick Beach, the inspirational founder of Dharma Mittra, the innovative Anna forest, creator of Forest yoga, the arm balance master Dylan Warner, the flexible Kino Mc Gregor, the queen of strength and softness Elena Brower, the qigong master Mimi Kuo Deemer, the yin and restorative yoga expert Judie Hanson, the tantra vinyasa master from America Sianna Sherman, the inspirational Iyengar master Simon Low, the Jivamukti queen Emma Henry and my Jivamukti mentor from Germany; the charismatic Moritz Ulrich. I have also practiced alongside some of the best and pronounced teachers, some of which I am proud to call gurus, some of which I am humbled to call friends.

We offer a 200hr Anusara Teacher Training â€“ A six module training spread out over a period of 10 months. You are welcome to take a few modules (Anusara Yoga Immersions), take the modules you need in order to have completed the 200 hr Anusara training if you have already done some modules in the past, or do the full training, become a 200 hr Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with the Yoga Alliance.
Nefeli also offers Yoga Therapy trainings annually. These trainings used to be registered with the Yoga Alliance (YA) but after the recent decision of the YA to not register any yoga therapy trainings anymore , they are no longer registered.
Nefeli Makri, the owner has chosen to focus on training small groups of teacher trainees so that she can help co- create the teachers she would always have wanted to have met: Teachers that care and are highly knowledgeable, so that they can spread the knowledge and help alleviate pain (both emotional and physical) or make it more bearable.

- We have lockers with kleidakia. There are showers with shower gel and shampoo. Please bring your own towel.
- We provide mattresses for lessons. Please covered with your towel. You can buy your own mat from our store.
- We suggest you bring something warm to wear during the relaxation yoga lesson .
- Please do not bring shoes and mobile phones in the room.
- For your security, refused entry to the room 10 minutes after the start of the course.
- In case the number of students exceeds the threshold, the priority subscribers .
- The subscriptions can be frozen for a minimum of two weeks. To apply the interruption, must inform the reception at least one week earlier . Students have the right to freeze their assistance to 2 times a year.
- The month starts the day you make a subscription (eg 13 May to 12 June.)
- The cocoon is not responsible for subjects which have lost for personal reasons or because of public holidays.
- Try to track the same course at least 2 times a week to avoid injuries and to see real results. 4 lessons per week, you will notice significant changes in body and mind.

The word Hatha derives from the union of the two Sanscritic words Ha and Tha which mean Sun and Moon.
It refers to the nadis (energy channels) of the body. The word ha refers to the channel of sun (pingala), whereas the word tha to the channel of moon (ida). Itâ€™s about the two different sides, parts of ourselves (Sun: fire, energy, power â€“ Moon: water, concentration, tranquility).
But when these two words combine, then Hatha means dynamic, powerful, suggesting that it is a technique that demands strong will and self-discipline. Hatha Yoga is the most popular system in the Western world where its practice concerns mostly the mental and spiritual health of the practitioner.
History â€“ Origin
Hatha yoga, also known as Hatha Vidya or â€œthe science of Hathaâ€, is a system of yoga that was introduced by the Yogi Swatmarama, in the 15th century in.Swatmarama is also the creator of Hatha Yoga Pradipika, the most comprehensible text of Hatha Yoga and its techniques. The material for the creation of Pradipika derives from older sanscritic texts of yoga but also from the personal experience of Swatmarama. In that, Swatmarama introduces Hatha yoga as the way for someone to reach Raja Yoga, the Royal yoga in other words, as a preliminary stage of physical purification that prepares the body for the exercise of meditation. The asanas (body postures) and Pranayama (breath control) were used by the Hindu Yogis to train their body to hold out during the long meditations.
