According to Ayurveda, each of us inherits a unique mix of three types of body-mind energies (doshas) which creates our specific physical and mental characteristics. Most of us have one or two doshas which are most dominant in our nature, with the remaining one(s) less significant. These three doshas are known as Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.

Using these Doshas of Ayurveda, we can identify our body-mind nature (prakriti) and use this understanding to make the most nourishing choices in our lives. It is common for people to have a blend of characteristics and usually one dosha will be dominated.

Ayurveda a system of medicine with historical roots having formative tissues: dhatu, rasa, rakta, māmsa, meda, asthi, majja, and shukra. Like the medicine of classical antiquity, these bodily substances are divided into five classical elements panchabhuta, viz. earth, water, fire, air and ether.

Panchakarma

Panchakarma is the five-fold purification therapy which is a special form of treatment in Ayurveda consisting of vamanam, virechanam, nasyam, snehavasti and kashayavasti. This treatment is fruitful for the healthy and the diseased in order to eliminate the toxins from the body.

Smita Soni, is the founder of Smita’s Yogamantra. She is a qualified Yoga trainer. She is a passionate Yoga follower from a very young age, who is ever willing to help others to try to overcome ailments by practicing Yoga. She did her Diploma in Yoga and Naturopathy from Gujarat Ayurveda University, Jamnagar , and graduation (B.Sc. Zoology) from Saurashtra University.
