Abhisarga in Sanskrit means to create, or a creation. Prathima, the founder of Abhisarga Creating Yoga had envisaged that she would give this name to whatever she creates as a purpose. And, when Yoga began to create new possibilities for her, she decided to name her vocation ‘Abhisarga – creating yoga for you!’ For Prathima and her students, Abhisarga is yoga and beyond. It becomes a part of you! At Abhisarga Creating Yoga For You your experience of yoga is very different. Predominantly focussed on the traditional styles of Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga, we personalise the practice of yoga for each one of you. Your body type, lifestyle and medical conditions are evaluated before deciding on what suits you the best. Yoga at Abhisarga is progressive. The classes are endearing, engaging and invigorating. Yoga for the sake of appreciation, transformation and propagation is what Prathima believes in. She graduated as a trained ‘Hatha Yoga’ teacher from ‘a 1000 Yoga’. Prathima completed her International Teachers Training course in Hatha yoga also called Haá¹havidyÄ â€“ a branch of Yoga. The word haá¹ha denotes a system of physical techniques supplementary to a broad conception of yoga. She conducts classes for beginners, intermediate and power yoga derived from Ashtanga yoga. Apart from these, the Yoga training she imparts will cover core Hatha, Asthanga (primary series), Pranayama and internalization in Yoga Nidra. Prathima is a graduate in commerce from St. Joseph’s Evening College and brings with her a rich Corporate experience as well – having worked with Alliance Business Academy, KPMG and Manipal Group of Hospitals prior to taking up Yoga as her career. A true woman of substance, Prathima is also a home maker, an innovative chef, a lover of nature and plants… with a strong inner spiritual belief. Yoga has transformed her inner-self and helped her combat ailments such as back ache, gastric problems and even healing from an orthopedic surgery for ACL tear. In a world that’s increasingly cynical, unfailingly practical and obsessed with material things, yoga is one thing that helps us connect with our inner-self and disciplines us. Yoga is eternal and there is no age to practice Yoga. There are numerous forms of Yoga and there is one we can create for you as well.
