Vipassana is a low key meditation practice and only for those who are really looking for divine perspective in life. Dhamma Salila, meaning 'Water of Dhamma', lies in the Doon Valley of the Himalayas, in Dholos Village on Noon river. The Centre is 10 km from Clock Tower in Dehradun. Established in December, 1995, the centre presently holds about twenty courses a year. Twenty double rooms for males and sixteen double rooms for females are presently available. Seventy eight cells have been built for meditators.

The area is very quaint and serene. Perfect for meditation. Don't know much about this place though. Stopped for a few minutes. There's a river stream nearby. Which is a nice thing. The cantonment area is also nearby.

First of all, it is not a tourist place. It is a meditation centre located in a secluded place in Dehradun amidst the jungle with a river flowing in its backyard. What more one can ask on a meditation retreat. Vipassana is a meditation technique earlier originated in India, but over the period of time got lost in India. But with the active efforts of (Late) Sh. SN Goenka, it is again being spread in India for the benefit of humankind in particular, which then makes everything better for everyone in general. It is not a sect, neither a religious body as may have been misunderstood by some people. Vipassana is among one of the many meditation techniques which helps you realize the ultimate truth, whatever it is, and to observe and see around you as well as inside you about what is.

The technique of Vipassana is clearly the purest and most eye opening experience for me.
I'll review the place itself here though.
The centre is located a little off the centre of Dehradun, and easily accessible in all seasons, just a little caution is required during the rainy season.
Facilities like warm water, continuous electricity are available round the clock.
The cons I felt were the lack for a proper place to exercise and no laundry services.
Network connectivity is good for Airtel. LTE services available without any hiccups. Jio works poorly.
Not very well connected by public transportation.
find awesome
Peacefull place ,i complete my first ten day vippasna course here.
Best way to reach to centre is take a mini van from isbt which drop u at ghadi cant and therefore take bus to jantan wala village at say the conductor to drop at meditation centre before jantanwala village thats way you can reach there from isbt very easily.

Amazingly peaceful place. Practising "Know Thyself" for just half an hour over here, on the guidelines of Ven. SNG was more effective and vibrant than doing the similar practise at home for an year.
Splendid vibrations of dhamma and metta filled the mind and body once again. Dhamma sevak wakai behatreen air paripakva hai yahan par.
So i say, " Amazingly trustworthy place for vipassana meditators.

It's a beautiful place with a lot of peace of mind. Many foreigners come here to learn yoga and meditation. No speaking and absolutely free of cost, this meditation centre solely works on charity which is great.

Its ideal place for meditation purpose, but the accomodation provided by them are twin sharing basis which is not ideal to remain in complete silence. If there'd be provision of single person per room then its ideal vipassana centre of northern India.

Place is nice, gives you a feel of nature, but people who were giving services are not good human beings. Two Sevikas were so mean, they were hiding the food, fruits, milk for their personal use. They never waited students to finish their food, always wanted to eat as soon as they could. Very disappointed with the attitude of people working there including manager, all were very rude and partial.
This was my second time to attend Dhamma 10 days course.
First time I finished my course in Auckland (NewZealand). Servers are so dedicated there, that you feel very secure there.

This is a sacred place for the mediation. Not bounded to any religion. Not only the preaching of Gautam Buddha but also the practical way to attain Niravana teaches here. This place is about 15 kms away from Dehradun city. A serene place. I had been there once.

The people and the management here are not good. I have never came across such ****** people. The place is good to stay and food as well but they think in a different way and I didn't like their intensions at all. I recommend girls to never visit this place or atleast not go here for serving.
