Doing a 10 day meditation course is not very easy. It is very difficult and miserable, but worth the effort to achieve the same. The room I had is very nice and the bathroom was equally nice. The food court is big enough. The course is ran on donation and volunteers so don't be expecting customer service experience, but they will do the best to meet your needs. Over all experience is 5 Star.

It is a meditation center. its construction is very fantastic it is spread over acres and in a calm and quit area of mumbay mahanagara. we can reach here from gorai jetty in a ferry (in which small vehicles can also be transported) to essel world jetty, and have to walk 10 mts. then we will reach the main entrance of the global vipasane center main entry.
when we reach the entrance we will feel that we are in an another world.
super construction of buildings and paintings are there. a big meditation center is constructed in the center of the area, the entry to this meditation center is restricted for those who completed the meditation courses.
for visitors the managent arrange an entry and exit to view this meditation hall. they also arrange a small meditation center in the compound for those who are eager to know ""what is meditation"". here they gives small lecture about the meditation and 15 mts. training.
a big statue of budha of white marble, small park, statue of asoka sthambha is there. free amenities like drinking water, washrooms, restrooms etc.
they also arrange refreshments for normal rates.

Dhamma Pattana, the harbour of Dhamma, is the part of renowned global Pagoda Complex opened in 2009. Situated atop lush green hill overseeing sea in a quaint village Gorai in west Borivali suburb of city of Mumbai, is untouched by the stress and pollution of the city. This peaceful heaven for Vipassana meditators lies within precinct of magestic Global Pagoda, which stores precious relics of Buddha, emanating powerful meditative vibrations that puts a wondering mind to rest. This two storied building is having air conditioned meditation hall and residential rooms, separate for male and female meditators. Elevator is available for use of elderly and needy. Accommodation is usually individual. The meditation cells is also having air conditioner ducts. Vipassana teaching at this Centre is geared towards business executives and professionals.

This is a Vipassana Meditation Center that offers courses in Vipassana meditation as taught by Shri S.N.Goenka in the tradition of Syagyi U Ba Khin of Myanmar. This center in particular is targeted towards executives in the public and private sectors. Accordingly the facilities rival any center found in the US or Europe. The meditation hall is cooled with an industrial grade air conditioner. This among the smaller centers in India by comparison with three storeys that include private rooms for meditators and volunteers and the dinning hall. The small pagoda where cells are awarded to meditators is interconnected with the building. The very limited walking space in the front is lined with several fruiting and flowering trees including coconuts, papayas, bananas, mangoes, limes etc. These are all off limits to humans and meant only for the consumption of the wild animals and birds. With Noble Silence in effect, the main source of sounds are the many birds including cuckoos, Indian Robins, sparrows, kites, pigeons etc. For some reason, there are very few mosquitoes here and this is very welcome given the precept of "not killing"

I have done two courses here. It is a great facility. AC rooms, very hygenic and tasty food. If you are new to vipassana this place ensures almost no physical discomfort. So a great place for executives, people accustomed to some level of comfort or people who are going through, "will I be able to do it" feeling

This place is a center for meditation called ""Vipassana"" meaning ""seeing things as really they are"", the technique of Vipassana is a simple, practical way to achieve real peace of mind and to lead a happy, useful life.
It is one of the India's ancient meditation technique which was forgotten but preserved by Burma then brought back by Shri S. N. Goenka.
The center is equipped with modern facilities like AC meditation hall, separate AC rooms with attached bathroom, Canteen which offers good and delicious food. Separate arrangements for male and female, language of instruction hindi and english both, other languages are available on request.
The center conducts 10 days residential course through out the year. There is absolutely no charge. The center runs on donations so once you complete the course you can give donation voluntarily, so that others can also do the course.
The venue is picturesque.
Must do a course.

People rating for nice AC rooms, nice food are irrelevant for the centre.
Based on my experience of 10 days courses attended at the centre I have rated it 5.

Global Pagoda Complex is a Buddhist temple complex situated at the northern boundary of the Mumbai city. It is close to an ancient harbour of Shurparaka region which is situated at its north and Buddhist monastery of Kanheri at its east. This Buddhist temple complex is also known for Dhamma Pattana Vipassana Center, since this Buddhist meditation centre is located inside the pagoda complex campus itself. Global Pagoda is situated atop a lush green hill, overseeing the sea, in a quaint village called Gorai a few kilometers outskirts of Mumbai city. It is yet untouched by city stress and pollution. The close proximity of the center to the main city enables people leading extremely busy lives to reach a Vipassana center in a very short time. This place is very much like a peaceful haven for all including those interested in Vipassana meditation. The Global pagoda stores the precious relics of Buddha, emanating powerful meditative vibrations that would put a wandering mind to rest.
Dhamma Pattana Centre carries out Vipassana, Buddhist Meditation Courses for the general people as well as Business Executives. Its meditation hall and rooms are air-conditioned. Those interested in Buddhist religion and meditation activities or just want to enjoy the calm and quiet environment just away from the crowded city, Global Pagoda Complex is the must visit destination.
