Where to even begin! I was recommended to check out Anadi by a friend, and it was interesting to learn that the girls on my course were also recommended by friends. A pattern of recommendations usually signals something good, and in the case of Anadi, the word good doesn’t even come close to describing the quality of teaching here. The day begins beautifully with nasal cleaning and mantra chanting, and finishes in an equally beautiful manner with meditation. The structure of the day has been carefully constructed, with a wholesome breakfast every day to encourage stimulation for the busy morning. Not only the breakfast, but all three meals throughout the day are home cooked fresh and packed with healthy carbs and protein to provide the students with sufficient energy for all of the classes. All of the meals are delicious and diligently prepared, and whenever we requested a certain type of food these requests were always met by the attentive kitchen staff (and Jeet). Every single teacher did a brilliant job in providing authentic and insightful information into the 8 limbs of Yog, giving us profound detail into the history of the lifestyle that so few are aware of in the western world.
Not only has the 200 hour TTC helped to calm my mind, it has helped me deepen my asana practice to a level I never imagined. My body awareness and consciousness of the intricate details of each posture has heightened due to the innovative structure of each asana class. I must say a special thanks in particular to the asana teachers, Jeet and Abhi. Abhi is 19, and has SO much potential. His teaching style is firm but intuitive, and he would always cater in a careful way on the days we were feeling particularly fatigued. He is very knowledgeable and would always welcome any questions that we had. I cannot wait to see his potential unfold as his strengths as a teacher continue to grow. On the other hand, Jeet is probably one of the most experienced yoga teachers I’ve come to know. His style of teaching makes you sweat to the point of blurred vision, but the feeling you have when you walk out of that yoga hall is incredible. My whole body would be tingling as though every toxin had been flushed out of my system. He, like Abhi, was also very careful to push us only as far as was appropriate. Jeet’s knowledge of alignment and adjustment is profound, and I am so grateful to have experienced his guidance. Thank you for kicking my butt and making me experience what yoga should really feel like. Oh, and for giving me biceps!
Further gratitude to all of the other teachers, as every single one was so authentic and brilliant! Equally, thank you to the kitchen staff who prepared us such delicious and wholesome meals- my nails have never looked so good! I came to India for authenticity and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
A further and final mention must go to Arvind. He guided us through meditation in an attentive and careful way, providing us with strong a foundation to enable us to carry on with the practice on our own. Despite the fact that I plan to come back to Anadi to complete my 300 hours, which includes Ashtanga training, I decided to revisit Rish?kesh in order to learn the Ashtanga primary series with Arvind . I am extremely thankful that I did! His teaching queues are detailed and constructed in a way that has helped me to understand my body in so much further detail. He is thorough and dedicated in his practice and method of teaching, and I have learnt so much through his guidance. His classes are energetic and addictive, and I cannot wait to return to obtain more of his knowledge. Thank you for your time and brilliance!
All in all, as previously mentioned, I couldn’t have asked for a more insightful or exciting experience. I can now happily call Anadi Yoga Centre a safe place for me to revisit, and I cannot wait to return in the near future. Namaste, love Han xxx ??
