My wife and I have stayed in this resort for almost three months in July of 2017. So, it was very nostalgic to visit the resort this year again. Although I did not stay here this time, I hosted a lunch for 10 members of family and friends. I had heard that after reintroduction of bar services this year the quality of food had deteriorated; and so wanted to test myself. I was surprised to find that those rumors were not at all true.
The restaurant has a new menu and new management staff, including a manager, Anil and captain Binu. But one of the good old chefs, Madhu, still worked there, as also a few of the serve staff members. We had pre-ordered the lunch menu, including Chicken Lollypop for starters, which was one of our old favorites, followed by a new dish, Chicken mulakittidichatu, which is a dry dish , Kerala style chicken curry, Paneer butter masaala, fried rice, briyani rice, Okra dry fry in the Kerala tradition, and ending with a sweet speciality of Kerala. Every item was made to perfection! The staff were on their toes to ensure prompt and courteous service.
The dining room has a beautiful view of the Nila river. We spent about two hours savoring the food and enjoying the quiet ambience. As we were leaving, we met many of the old retreat staff who had become close to us during our previous stay, almost like family. With all old memories relived, we left the resort, and made a promise to ourselves to come back next year again.
