I have done TTC 200h at Mathatitu Yoga Ashram in March 2018. It was a life changing experience, beginning of a new and exciting path and the happiest days of my life. The knowledge that I gained throughout the course still unfolds within me and supports my practice and life choices. I haven't taught yet as I am still travelling India, but I am confident I will in the near future.
Mathatitu Yoga Ashram has got everything you need during the training - clean rooms (single person accomodation), healthy and tasty meals, amazing staff and yogashala with beautiful seaview where the students spend about 11 hours per day, 6 days a week. The place is run by Anoop, sweet, caring person and true yogi.
The program of the course is far beyond impressive and it covers a wide variety of yogic concepts like hilisophy, yoga sutras, teaching instruction, pranayamas, kriyas, meditation, Human anatomy, Alignment / Adjustment (both self and assisted) and also different types of yogic asana practices (iyengar, ashtanga, hatha and sivananda). The course is not for the lighthearted and requires dedication, devotion and discipline to reap the maximum benefits. The course comprised of 2 stringent asana practices 6 days a week (morning and afternoon) with an option to even take them on the remaining day off.
We were extremely lucky to have a versatile and experienced band of teachers during our training who guided us through this wonderful journey. Rich, Manoj, Sanathanan, Sunil and Anoop were more than what we hoped for, they broadened our perspective, shared their knowledge selflessly and boosted our confidence to take on new challenges.
I am also grateful for my batchmates. It was an an absolute honor to learn with fellow yogis from different parts of the world and different walks of life. We lived together, ate together, practiced together, shared our stories, sang in the night, swam in the sea and supported each other like a family in this one month and i miss every single one of them.
Lastly, I believe you cannot go wrong with the choice of "varkala" as a yogic destination for embarking on your journey. It is truly a magical place and the legend has it that "what your heart wishes while you're here will definetely come true". It worked its Magic on me...!
I recommend Mathatitu with all my heart. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
