Let me start by saying that it was our hotel which found this gem of a dive school, we knew we wanted to go to Ahmed, due to the trip advisor info and could only go on the Monday. After many calls on our behalf we were booked. The cost was $50, which was a bit cheaper than the others and there was no $15 surcharge for an Ubud pick up.
We were picked up at 7am and taken to HQ about an hour away where we met the team, got our equipment met the two others, Patrick and his parter who would be with us on the trip. Four divers/ snorkellers and two instructors, so 6 in total in 2 mini vans, so lots of room.
We arrived about 2 hours later and what a treat was in store, we crashed at a local cafe ordered lunch for later, included in the price, and headed straight in for our first snorkell. I have never seen so many fish so close to shore, literally 3-4 meters from the waters edge, many I would have missed had the instructor not been with us pointing things out to us.
The only thing I would say is that I struggled to get in and out of the water due to the stones and waves. I had my own gear and the fins were not big enough to accommodate the divers boots that everyone else was wearing, next time I will definitely use the dive schools kit!
Lunch was good and the afternoon snorkell further along the bay did not disappoint, I was surrounded by dozens of multicoloured fishes who started nibbling me, then there was a massive shoal of mackerel and of eventually we found Nemo!
Thanks so much to the team at Balibreizh, we were totally spoilt, it was one of the high points of our first trip to Bali! We will be back!
