I am 73 years old and have only been interested in yoga for a few years. At my age I feared not being able to carry out physical activity (and in fact at the beginning I was almost immobile), but Alice, the teacher, tells us that everyone does what they can without "pulling". In this way I gradually realized that I could assume positions and perform movements that I would never have imagined. And in the meantime, some pains have disappeared (my shoulder!) that I thought would accompany me for the rest of my days. Of course, Alice is not one of those improvised "yoga teachers" who do more harm than good; she has a solid background, numerous diplomas, and is also a teacher. The lessons can also be followed online, which is more convenient for me: connecting is very easy and Alice, while practicing with us offering herself as a model, looks at us all as if we were present in the gym, corrects us, encourages us and, knowing each one well us, recommend to one or the other modifications best suited to the type of problems we may have. Thus, in a pleasant way, following my own rhythms and feeling protected, I keep my body, my muscles active and above all (it's a fixation of mine being small in stature) I ensure the integrity of my spine and I don't risk "curling up" as unfortunately happens to many elderly women. I think I will take these “wellness courses” for the rest of my life.
