Definitely among the most beautiful and best-built Vipassana retreat centers I've spent time at. Actually, it's the first one I've been to that was custom-built with the purpose of Vipassana in mind. The result is that it's really comfortable and convenient in almost every way. There are private rooms for all students and private cells for old students, or maybe for all on a small course. The grounds are covered in beautiful trees, including a few very nice banyans, and the silence there has made all the animals quite friendly- I had squirrels, birds, and small monitor lizards all come within a foot or so of me, not wary in the least. The main Dhamma hall is beautiful, and plenty of cushions, chairs, stools, platforms, etc are available for the students. The food was tasty, plentiful, and vegan-friendly - though I don't see why they don't go all the way and cut out just the little bit of milk and yogurt that they do serve! I also appreciated the fresh fruit at breakfast and raw salads at lunch. There were also nice walking paths inside the compound and in the forest just off to the side.
Everything was clean, tidy, and well-cared for, and the entire course went off without any trouble. A big thank you to the teachers, staff, and Dhamma volunteers for everything! May all be happy!
