A group of us did a retreat here 8 years ago. This time I returned by myself and did 3 1/2 days of yoga, meditation and breathing. Marc and Meng Foong are wonderful teachers. I stayed in the room onsite which suited me since I was alone and could jump out of bed and onto the mat in the yoga room next door to the accommodation. M and M really take their time and forced me to slow things down and properly attend to my asanas and breathing. If you are with friends or a group, there are small resorts nearby that are convenient and serve food. I did enjoy taking the bike and riding into town, despite the heat.Grab car works very well so I could rely on that to get into town for meals. I would recommend arranging to do the nature hikes and excursions that are on offer with the yoga and nature retreat as there is not much to do in the town of Pentai Cenang if you are not up to hanging on the beach.The quality of Marc and Meng Foong's instruction is hard to beat. I will return.

I attended one-day yoga and meditation workshop at the beginning of January 2019. Having previously done only few sessions of mindfulness and being almost new to the yoga practice, I did not exactly know what to expect. I had a very fulfilling day from all perspectives. Marc's meditation classes helped me to get into the right mood and relax my mind, it was also very useful to receive details and explanation of each breathing, meditation and physical exercise. Meng's yoga classes were a perfect combination of physical yoga exercises and yogic wisdom, which I still do carry with me everyday. They were genuinely regenerating. It was a very positively immersive day led by two expert teachers who managed to convey an inner sense of peacefulness and strength.I am amazed at how much I could learn and carry away with me in one single day. The location was perfect, easy to reach by taxi or scooter. After the workshop, I received plenty of content (videos etc.) which has been gradually helping me to pursue my daily yoga practice. Marc and Meng taught me on the 4 day 3 night retreat. They have one room onsite, so I stayed in a nearby hotel - would recommend Temple Tree at Bon Ton, about 15 mins walk away. It consisted of about 5 hours of meditation, breathing exercises and yoga in the morning, and another 3 hours in the evening. I had ample time in between to nap and sunbathe. I learnt so much it's hard to know where to begin, but the main thing I'd say is that their brand of teaching is all about a state of mind and of being, rather than about technical ability - which I loved. It would benefit anyone of any ability. I learned some useful techniques particularly to do with meditation, and left feeling much more kind to myself and equipped to deal with the busy world I'd left. Marc and Meng are patient teachers, and the perfect compliment to each other. Different but not too different. The facilities were perfect - not luxury, but completely well equipped and clean etc. I'd highly recommend to anyone who wants to spend some time working on themselves in Langkawi.

I was on vacation with my family so could only manage the one day intensive workshop. So happy I did. M&M are very knowledgeable and put me through my paces - the intensive workshop is a long day so be prepared. Studio is very clean, lots of cushions, towels etc to choose from to assist in positions (if needed) and to get comfortable during mediation. As my hotel was the other side of the island and not practical to go back to during the break, use of a shower would have been nice but they had a sink outside so that sufficed. Great experience. When next in Malaysia I will try and come for a few days!

Thoroughly blissful retreat, spiritually refreshing and stimulating. M&M are greatly knowledgeable and professional in guiding and sharing. Good for anyone who wants to relax their mind and body and restore the balance in between. If you're looking for a retreat that gives you a more complete idea of what yoga really is, this is the right retreat for you. Also a great place to practice breathing and awareness. Restore natural calmness & peacefulness!

I am just back from a 8 day/7 night yoga & meditation retreat with Marc and Meng Foong which was bliss for the mind, body and soul. Not bliss as in easy, but bliss in a challenging, satisfying, nurturing and self-realising way. It was a great decision to stay at their studio which was beautifully clean and spacious and which made getting up at 6.15am each day manageable. I loved the sound of nature first thing then the late morning cycles into town/the beach via the padi fields, waving to local children and families. Both Marc and Meng Foong radiate their passion and dedication to their art and I learned so much from each of them, both having different but complimentary approaches and philosophies. My body feels strong and capable after being gently encouraged to attempt poses I would ordinarily have dismissed as out of my reach, and I am very pleased with how still my mind became with twice daily meditation practice, managing to extend the length of practice by the end of the week. The private guided eco tours were thoroughly enjoyable and an amazing source of information/knowledge (Thanks to Ayu and Osman). I would not hesitate to recommend this experience or return again in the future. With gratitude to Marc & Meng Foong.

I spent 4days with Marc and Meng in their relaxed yoga retreat, which is an amazing experience for body, mind & soul! I would truely recommend this retreat to anyone looking for a yoga experience in Malaysia. Although I am an absolute beginner, they were very patient and considerate and I felt comfortable with myself during all my lessons as they adjusted their pace to my needs. Both are great people with kind-hearted and interesting personalities. As for the retreat it is a very comprehensive mix of meditation, relaxation, yoga philosophy and excercise that opens new perspectives on self-wareness, health and life in general. It is not comparable to any courses as offered in your average gym nor esoteric in any way. In fact, the retreat left me very enthusiastic and with a feeling that I have learnt some very valuable lessons for the future. I stayed at the accomendation next to their studio which was very clean and spacious. The retreat is located in a village near Pentai Chenang (touristic place, 20min by bike/not known by taxi drivers - need Google Maps/ reco to use GRAB app) and surrounded by paddy fields. I found this setting quite unique and enchanting as one can listen to the nature waking up in the morning and the muezzins call at night. As far as I am concerned, staying there enriched my experience!

I joined Yoga Now's 4D/3N intermediate yoga retreat. The time spent with Marc and Meng Foong is truly life changing. I went with the intention to learn proper yoga poses, I however left with so much more than that. My key take away is a different (better) way to live through yoga philosophies of creating space in your mind, overcoming fear, continuous effort and most importantly the acceptance of impermanence.

Here is an opportunity to have 3 or 4 sessions (each around 2 hours in duration) of meditation, breathing exercises and yoga practice each day. The tuition is interspersed with focussed learning experiences and assumes no need for knowledge or experience in the field. Indeed, the guidance and opportunities are paced at a rate you are comfortable with progressing through. I found both Mark and Meng Foong delightful individuals who have a warmth and sincerity that quickly allowed me to relax and settle into the retreat. Both were willing to work with me at my pace and helped me to find new resources within myself that were hidden until the retreat. I was picked me up from the airport (itself a short air shuttle from KL) and I stayed in the comfortable apartment on site. Valuable for showering and resting in the 32-34C heat outside. All in all great value for money and potentially life changing. At night and at lunchtime - if you are not asleep from your practice - you can borrow a bike and travel 3km to the main street in the town. One bit of advice is to bring a headlamp for night time when it is dark. Alternatively, Uber is now in time and very affordable. Both cars found me easily despite the single track roads and it may be preferable to the mosquitoes and the likelihood of meeting cattle or other animals on unlit roads. Stay on to explore the island - a very beautiful place.

I spent a week with Marc and Meng and this experience could be described with the word "life-changing". I feel like the journey is different for everyone, but to me personally this retreat changed my perception on so many things in me and in my life. I was able to reflect myself and my attachments in a new light and although opening up, truly seeing yourself and learning to love yourself harder is not the easiest task, I was in the right place at the right time. Absolutely, just book the retreat, go open-minded and be prepared to change. Namaste.

Our 4-day yoga retreat with Mark and Meng really made impact! It was our first experience with Yoga and Mark and Meng taught us a lot. It was really nice to learn so much about Yoga and to do more than ‘just some exercises’. Every day in the retreat we ate in the kitchen of Mark and Meng and the food was more than delicious!! Next to that we really enjoyed the conversation and the hospitality. Our trip to Maleisie and the Yoga retreat is now more than 4 months ago, but we still think about our Yoga retreat and experience in Lankawi every week! Jan & Saskia

I decided to go back for a second retreat with Yoga Now and welcomed the wonderful opportunity to seriously retreat from the stresses and strains of daily life. The location, in the midst of padi fields away from the touristy areas, is perfect for that. Meditating to the sound of birds and the occasional moo of a cow in the field nearby was very healing. The occasional plane flying overhead was an opportunity to focus and connect with the environment. Yoga with Marc and Meng is a beautifully balanced combination of stillness and movement that encourages a sense of wellbeing from somewhere deep within the soul. I come back from their retreats contemplating how to make meaningful changes in the way I live, to incorporate some of the philosophy of yoga that is such an instrumental part of the way they teach it. If you are really keen on understanding yoga well beyond simply stretching and treating it as though it is just another exercise class, this is the place to go. It is an oasis that helps to make the world a better place.

My YogaNow retreat exceeded all expectations, despite having read the many excellent reviews. I think like many people, yoga had become just another place for me to criticise myself and compare myself to others, just adding to my day to day a stress! The best thing I have taken away from my 5 day YogaNow retreat, is that I have begun the process of resetting my entire mindset and approach to yoga, making the whole practice much more effective and fulfilling. Both Marc & Meng are wonderfully eloquent and you can tell they practice what they preach, as outside of the classes they exude calmness and joy! You are also given practical advice and the confidence to practice at home, and to 'be your own teacher'. I was genuinely looking forward to the meditation and breathing sessions by the end of my stay, where I used to dread trying to switch my thoughts off. Marc & Meng are amazing hosts. They are so warm and friendly, and not at all overbearing. And the meals provided are absolutely delicious and Marc's bread in particular.... I ate them out of house and home! Thanks to them both for instilling a genuine love and new understanding of yoga, and I hope to back in the future.

My friend and myself did the 3 nights - 4 days retreat. Delightful. Accommodation wise, due to hotel unavailability, we stayed in the very spacious and very clean room that Marc & Meng have available near the studio house - and it was perfect. Just needed to wake up 10 mn before the start of the lesson, which is a blessing when you have not so much aptitude to early waking up. The location is great, peaceful, in the middle of the rice fields, with a beautiful day and night sky, and a mere 20 mn bicycle ride to Pantai Cenang. The food is delicious (Meng is a redoutable cook, I stand up every dinner saying "again, ate too much"). Yoga and meditation classes are great as well. Quite different from the type of yoga we've been used to where we practice, more as an aerobic exercise than anything else - going deeper into the meaning of yoga. Marc & Meng have different styles, both enjoyable and interesting. Remark : planes from the airport can be heard, but not that many that we felt it was an hindrance to the retreat. A sound to easily incorporate to meditation. So in a summary, a great stay :-).

Suited my needs - intense yoga and meditation for a few hours in the morning and early evening. With free time to explore, work, get a massage at one of the many places in langkawi during the day and explore nightlife or restaurants if you want later in the evening. I liked the yoga and meditation styles. I have been to various different retreats and this was definitely very good in comparison, and especially excellent value for money. It was a nice blend of theory, pushing you to deepen some practice, and also try different techniques. All done in a very gentle and unobtrusive way. What was particularly impressive was the very personalised nature of what the retreat and Meng Foong and Marc provided. They are obviously very experienced and skilled at understanding specific needs of participants and designing a programme to really be suitable for the individual. In a very harmonious and natural way (no questionnaires, but really through seeing how you responded to exercises and practice). So i would basically give a big thumbs up.
