Hi and Salam!
We are Franky and Taoufiq, a German-Moroccan surfer duo from Tamraght and we love the ocean and the waves!
We are a small, cosy and friendly surfcamp.
Quality is important to us and that you have a wonderful and refreshing holiday with great waves, good food and a lot of time to relax.
Our philosophy - at home wit friends.
We are part of the local surf culture and we want to share our experience to make sure that you spend an unforgettable surf holiday in Morocco.
Franky & Taoufiq
Franky came from Germany to Morocco 4 years ago and instantly fell in love with surfing and the amazing culture. She decided to leave her old life as a fashion designer and became a surfer and free soul. Her destiny is the ocean.
She is holding a Surf Coach Certificate (ISA Level 1) and is very spirited to teach people the techniques of catching waves.
Taoufiq grew up here in Tamraght/Morocco and knows his place like no other. He started surfing at age of 12 and ever since his passion are the waves. For more than 5 years he has been teaching surfing on a daily basis. He is on his mission to help others find their own feeling for the board and the water.

Franky and Taoufiq were friendly and amazing hosts and made me feel at home straight away! The food was traditional, authentic and very tasty! Super clean rooms in a trendy moroccan style! The yoga studio was clean and had all the equipment you needed back up by the best yoga lessons I’ve ever had! The surf lessons were great! started off a beginner now I’m way more confident on the board and have learnt a lot in a week! If you want an authentic holiday with friendly hosts, quality food, great yoga and surf teaching then wave gypsy is for you!

The house was absolutely lovely, excellent food ready when you come back from the beach, chilled atmosphere, charming culture and the best were Franky and Taoufiq. They truly made my stay unforgettable in best possible way. It felt as I would have visited good old friends in Morocco. Our Surf & Yoga Boutique Villa is decorated with a lot of attention to detail and typically Moroccan design.
The cosy roof terrace invites you to linger and sunbathe. From here you have a breathtaking view of the sea and can watch the waves.
The spacious living room is shared, where you meet for breakfast and dinner or to relax after surfing.
Every room is lovingly decorated. Moroccan arts and crafts meet tasteful design. The furniture and works of art in the house have been carefully selected by us and give the villa its charm.
Small supermarkets, surf shops and restaurants are within walking distance. In only ten minutes you are from our surf camp by the sea.

We cook fresh, tasty and healthy meals for your surf holiday with us.

A GOOD START FOR THE DAY
Enjoy our delicious Moroccan surfer breakfast, which is freshly prepared by us every morning. We serve you fresh fruits, yoghurt, moroccan treats, boiled eggs, omelettes, porridge to offer you a delicious breakfast buffet.

BEACH PICNIC
On your surfing days you'll find delicious homemade sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit and something to snack on.

DINNER
We serve various typical Moroccan specialities such as delicious tajines with salads and soups. It is spread over a common table, because we believe that the best way is to eat together with the others. Thursdays are BBQ evening and Fridays are traditional couscous.

SUSTAINABILITY & ECO-FRIENDLY
Every day we try to minimise the impact on the environment:
We support the local economy and employ Moroccan employees from the region.
Local organic products are used in our kitchen. The bananas grow only a few 100 meters from our house.
All our spices and staple foods come from nearby local souks (markets).
We participate in local initiatives to preserve our environment and beaches.

How to reach Wave Gypsy Surf & Yoga

Wave Gypsy Surf & Yoga is located in the Agadir region of southern Morocco. Tamraght is a charming little fishing village on the Moroccan Atlantic coast, just 5 km from Taghazout. Conveniently located 40 minutes from Agadir International Airport, it is only 3 to 4 hours flight from most Central European cities. It is the closest place for any European surfer to get warm water all year round, perfect waves and a unique cultural experience. Within 15 minutes walk you are on the beach and at the best surf spots like Banana Point, Devil's Rock and Crocs.
Morocco is served by direct flights from the major European airports, with flight times to Agadir between 2-4 hours. From Agadir airport it is a 40 minute drive southeast along the coastal road. Transfers from Marrakech can be easily arranged and the new motorway has drastically reduced the journey time to 3 hours. Please contact us if you would like us to arrange a transfer for you. Dying to get past my 'absolute beginner' surfer status, and in need of a mid-winter break, Wave Gypsy seemed like the perfect choice, and they did not disappoint one little bit. I booked the all-in surf and yoga camp for 8 days at the beginning of Jan - surf lessons, yummy meals, lovely quiet accommodation (with a charming rooftop terrace) and that all-important dreamy stretch out yoga at the end of the day. Surf lessons were very laid back and really catered to what YOU needed. Small groups (never more than 3-4) sometimes 1-2-1 coaching, sometimes learning new things in a group of three, sometimes just trying it out for yourself and then coming back into a whole load of tips and guidance, or just chatting on the beach watching the waves and getting pointers. I learnt loads in that week and left confidently catching my own green waves (whoop!) and dying for the warm weather to hit back home so I can get back in the waves! Franky and Taoufiq are both absolute gems and the perfect hosts, making you feel right at home. Thank for a wonderful stay!! Peace out

This summer, I stayed almost two weeks at Sultana Surf and I would go back in a heartbeat. From the very first moment I felt like coming home, Franky and Taoufiq as well as the house crew welcomed me with warm open arms and made every moment perfect. I booked the surf and yoga package and everything was perfectly well organized. I was a beginner in both sports and it was no problem at all. Sultana Surf is the perfect vacation place, no matter if you travel by yourself or as a couple/ in a group. I can highly recommend it!

They took more than good care of me: Awesome food, lovely decorated (super clean) accommodation, lush surf and amazing talks! What really needs to be pointed out is that there was always plenty of great moroccon food and both constantly aimed for me to have the best time, especially on the board. If you want to make a trip away from the mass surf camps this is what I recommend! I made some lovely friends there!? Top notch!!! See you def again!
