Where do I start and not gush about every aspect of my experience with Surf Maroc! From the painfree seamless website booking with its strangely reliable and accurate info and details, to information about the inconvenience of roadworks sent before my journey and treats available as compensation ( access to pool at Amouage - Surf Maroc’s stunning flagship boutique hotel) and delightful, knowledgeable and people centred House Managers, Gabriel and Wafa, to whom no request was too much trouble and who I now regard as friends - Surf Maroc, I’m sure you know you lucky to have them!
Taghazout Villa, different from Amouage, by being more intimate, less formal, more expertise and Surf-centred activity, encourages guest interaction without being forced. I paid for Surf guiding package with very qualified guides at hand for ready advice on local conditions and took me to breaks to suit my skill level throughout the day by day changing conditions. I could opt out whenever I liked to get much needed relaxation or pursue whatever activity I fancied without it causing logistical problems. The location is stunning with the villa designed to maximise the beautiful views from its centralised seaside cliff perch. It’s also designed to feel like home from home, with loungers and comfy nooks, littering it’s multi-levels. Everything is cleaned constantly by friendly locals willing to interact, rooms diverse to meet most budgets with openplan communal eating areas and the most delicious themed set meals (lunch baskets are self-served at breakfast each morning which are generous, delicious and diverse). Be warned that your bugs ( stomach micro-biome) are different from those found in developing Morocco’s local conditions, so come prepared to receive an immune-system upgrade in the form of being unwell for about 24hrs. Gabriel and Wafa are angels of mercy for those up-grading - ask Wafa for her ‘medical magic rice’.
Those that visit there know they’ve been blessed. And I haven’t even mentioned the world-class surf and the beautiful still reasonably untouch natural surroundings of the area. First of many adventures there????
