Shivapuri Heights Cottage

After a month of practicing teaching and retreat in the monastery me and my friend were looking for a place to stretching our legs. Therefore we found this place and definitely is a good place to stay if you don't mind to takes a few minutes walk up the hill in which they have not road access. Accommodation were Tremendous really good air quality. The owner built everything by themselves in a very reasonable setting also those couple is some wonderful person to meet.

We just can say enough wonderful things about our stay at Shivapuri Heights! The owners were very personable and helpful in planning day trips around Katmandú and the staff were just amazing. They made our stay so comfortable and anticipated our every need- we could have been content to just stay at the cottage and main house - relaxing, getting massages, reading and exploring their beautiful property where they grew lot of their own food and took such pride in the delicious meals they prepared for us. We felt so at home and welcomed. Would definitely recommend- the weather wasn’t the best for our stay but their cottages were just perfect to enjoy the day at regardless . We loved the feel of being in a country setting yet close to the city🤗

What a lovely place to be, amazing hospitality, delicious homecooked meal, friendly staffs and wonderful host Niru ji. I went there with my 2 kids and both enjoyed the stay so much that they are already planning to go back.

Shivapuri Heights Cottage is a wonderful place to unwind. The food is terrific and service was outstanding. I stayed in a safari tent and loved it. Comfy bed and high quality bedding. The details were great — woke up early and found a trey of coffee outside my tent.

Bad place. Owner is a liar and a fraud. Tells you you can cancel free of charge, because of several issues with the place on arrival, then still charges the money and pretend it was our own fault to come there. I pressed charges with the police because of theft. Also funny to read his replies to low ratings, he will not take any responsibility and will reply in a kind way that is it the own fouls of his guests if they didn’t had a pleasant stay or encounter with him. Which people do that? Dishonest and dishonorable ones is my guess. So I’ll add that to the list of this mans character.

We booked via booking. Nothing mentioned in the description about the fact that there is no road. So we booked it. Even though I have a broken foot. But then after the booking is confirmed, I get an email that there is no road. And that we have to walk up fifteen minutes. So I go to booking, to cancel. But according to booking, canceling would mean having to pay the full 240 dollar for two nights. So I decide to gather my strength and try to go up. Took me two hours. I get up and the room looks not worth the money. Old junk and smelly. So I ask for the WiFi, because I want to check the booking site. But the WiFi does not work. By that time I am really tired and disappointed. I had to almost crawl up for two hours for this? So I called the owner. He was understanding. He told me that we could cancel it free of charge no problem. I told him booking would not allow that. That I had already checked that. He said it would be no problem. So I dragged myself back of the hill again. Taking a taxi to a nicer place, for about 1/3 if the prize. Than I contact booking to cancel it free of charge. Like the owner said. But then, after crawling back down the hill, after taking a taxi again and booking another hotel, then all of a sudden he changed his mind. Now we would have to pay for the room. I am outraged about this fraudulous company. Have never been treated so bad in my life!

Perfect spot for time away from the crowds in the city. Staff were very welcoming and obliging. Yoga session organized for us and massages for tired trekkers. Comfortable accommodation in beautiful location so very happy to recommend.

I really enjoyed my stay there with Jo Chaffer! The garden is amazing, we did not hear a car, the service was spot on and the food delicious. So if you need a short break from the craziness of the city, grab a micro or a cab and go there. It is not far and absolutely worth it. Even for one night. I feel absolutely refreshed! Thanks for a lovely 24 hours 🙂

It's a nice place for chill beer in summer. I think it takes 40 minutes on foot to reach there from micro station and 10 minutes by car. You can see beautifull view of kathmandu valley. The owner of this resort is very friendly and welcoming. You can also see varieties of fruits garden and flowers garden.

Great hideout from kaotic katmandu, just minutes away from the city. SHG has put in a lot to details. Friendly and efficient staff and can multi/task. The place is closest to Beverly Hills of katmandu valley. I would have given full marks if not for access which I believe is work in progress.

Wow! A truly great find......Shivpuri Heights Cottage as the name suggests its perched on top of a hill. In the day time one can simply sit back and enjoy the views, fresh air and sunshine, read a book or go for walks. And yet you would want to get back to the peace and quiet of Shivpuri after spending the day in Kathmandu. Hospitality is second to none....home cooked meals, cosy and comfortable rooms ....truly a home away from home! Thanks to our gracious hosts Neeru and Steve Webster. Located on the slopes between the temple of sleeping God Budanilkantha and the mystique lush green hills, Shivapuri Heights Cottage is absolutely like a beautiful heavenly abode of great hospitality with excellent setup amid tranquil surroundings. Neeru has spared nothing to make this a magnificent resort. The view of the valley from the balcony is exceptional – really a place that rejuvenate your spirit. We will sure visit again.

Each visit has been unforgettable. The view is spectacular, the food delicious and more than anything the hosts have been beyond welcoming. Staying at the cottages was certainly a highlight of both trips made to Nepal and a must for anyone visiting Kathmandu.
