Such an amazing place in the heart of the Ixopo Hills facilitating beautiful retreats in a serene environment. Well run establishment with good vegetarian and vegan food, with comfortable accommodation and amazing meeting rooms including a Meditation Hall. This is definitely a place to find a deep inner peace. We just completed a traditional Hatha Yoga Retreat at the Buddhist Retreat Centre and can only say we all come out transformed.

Wow!!!! I could probably write a 10 page essay on why I would recommend the BRC, what an amazing place of tranquility, peace, hospitality - an all over fantastic experience for me personally. Such a pity to revisit the BRC after many years to a cold uninviting welcome at the reception. We were visitors passing through and despite phoning ahead we felt like an imposition and inconvenience. Grounds are as beautiful as ever! It’s just so sad that the management left alot to be desired. One would expect humble kindness and helpfulness from a buddhist retreat which sadly was far from our experience.

With a silly work schedule and a desperate need for spiritual time out I searched for the perfect destination to complete my 2018 and my need for Eat Pray Love. So I arrived to the gorgeous misty destination where I was to replenish the soul and replenish I did. I had never been on a silent retreat before especially over Christmas away from my family and quite literally this was the best gift I could have ever given myself. From our meditation to the order of events to the staff to the facilities and the FOOD oh my the food, I never did realize that vegetarian could be the base of my 2019.
