Spent a month over Christmas and new year at this hotel and had a fantastic time great food wonderful hospitality and the staff were really helpful. I unexpectedly got married whilst there and we had our reception at the hotel they took care of everything and we didn’t need to worry it was a fabulous night with all the details taken care of I would recommend this place to anyone for a short or longer break. The water sports are really great and staff helpful well priced and good fun

La Luna Ayurvedic Resort provided us with the best facilities during our short trip to Sri Lanka. The bookings has been managed by my travel planner, and this may be one of the few resorts/hotels which confirmed to all promised commitments. Our stay was only for a night and three day hours, but it was very well comfortable. The room provided was really big, and had all the basic comforts in place. There was a working Cable Television which had many local & international channels available, and there was also Wi-Fi connectivity in the room. Neat and clean toilet & wash room, with all the toiletries in place. The room did not have an intercom facility but there was a call bell to summon the staff. The room offered to us had a good balcony, with a small one which could be used as a dining area and another bigger one which was more suited for sun bathing. Though partially covered by trees, we could get a good view of a river flowing on the side of the resort. As a complimentary service, the resort provides a short motor boat ride. It could be a short cruise on the river or a quick drop to a beach near by. We opted for the ride to the beach. The beach was one of the cleanest ones we have ever seen, and my kid had a very good time enjoying the seas.

Snorkeling,jetski, banana ride, tube ride and kayak is available. Enthusiast can go for deep sea diving at reasonable price. Lahiru the team leader and his team were very helpful and jovial. To fully enjoy your stay, one should start early to avoid afternoon sun. Rooms are big, clean & spacious. Overall a very satisfying experience.

Had a nice stay in the resort, warm and helpful staff. Amazing water sports facilities. We did snorkeling, jet ski, kayaking, banana ride, tube ride in a package at reasonable prices. Serene view around the hotel, rooms are spacious and clean.

From the moment we came to the hotel, all the employees were really helpful and did all we asked with a smile on their face. We had a language barrier but they were patient enough to give us time to explain ourselves. We enjoyed our stay.

We shopped around for a place to stay that had a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, casual atmosphere, a room with a kitchen and sitting room. Well, we found it all here and more....the staff are amazing, the Ayurvda clinic is awesome; treatments every day with sauna and herbal baths. Its a paradise and not that expensive. Great location with all the shopping in walking distance. Just love the place.

We stayed at the room next to the small pool by the river. Used to be calm & quiet. But this weekend was so busy. Nice room at affordable prices, small pool overlooking the river. Seafood restaurant & of course an Ayurvedic Spa

Booked in for Facial & Back Massage. Cost 7000lkr for 1 hour facial and 45 mins back massage. Settings ordinary. Enjoyed the treatments they were relaxing. Had Facials all through Asia this was not the best I have had but after 2 weeks travelling it was worth a bit of pamper.

I went there after a Mangroven trip with beach guide Henry. He recommended the ayuverda spa. It was a very trustful recommendation. I had a full body massage about 2 hours with steambath and herbal tea at the end. There were 4 people who did the massage in a row (one for legs, front and back, face, and head. They all did a very good job. All in all I paid 45 Euro. It was an awesome experience and I can fully recommend it. No tourist trap. Thx to Henry for sending me there and thx to the crew

When we went there in the month of June, most parts of the hotel was under renovation. The pool side rooms had some work going on. We were provided room in the 2 floor and we had to climb up and down for any request. This hotel does not have a intercom so climbing down for each request for difficult. The room had a good view of the river. One can take the boat to the Bentota beach. There are many water sports that are provided in-house. The ayurveda facility wasn't available owing to renovation. We booked thinking those facilities would be available. One thing we really liked in this place was the food. It was very tasty and the fish we ordered was very fresh and good. Hopefully with all the renovation work completed, it might be great place to stay.

Great place for a variety of Indian and Sri Lankan based Aryuvedic massage treatment. Located some 3km from the Bentota Beach area... in Aluthgama. The treatments are carried out in private rooms with good basic facilities. The place offers good value for money in the locality of Bentota. Whilst there many tourist were seen having variety of treatments at the centre. Certainly recommend this.....

its nice place.lovely backwaters that the resort is on... very close to city. . the beach they ferry you to is fabb.. clean and absolutely non crowded..... no elevator so ppl with any health issue to avoid.. . sad servicGood location... loads of water sports options..they ferry you to the beach anytime that you ask them to .beach is super clean..and was not crowded at all... Not so good food.Veg and non veg both are awful .....no phone to call reception or lobby..one has to be patient to ring the bell...wait for some.one to come..and then to place order and wait again...for food to be delivered.. food is absolutely bad...has a spa on the resort and is believed to be good ...room.is ok..some are big..but expect minor hiccups like TV not working. AC not working..food taking ages...also boys there dont understand basic english...pls avoid their Pizza.. for sure

We spent two nights here at the end of a week long tour and found that the place was very old and tired. We stayed in the beach house which was particularly old and even had random things stuffed into the drawers. It could do with a room upgrade to house paying guests!! There were no towels in the room on the first night and a bed was missing a sheet so we had to use the curtain! The food was ok and the service was a bit hit and miss. But the staff were really genuine and friendly. The guys running the water sports were professional and kind and our children loved hanging and swimming in the river and pool all day. I would come back but would hope that there was an improvement in the standard of rooms and service. Also, the treatment Ayurveda was a bit of a scam. I wasn’t sure why I had to see the doctor and as expected, he “recommended” a 2.5hr treatment even after I told him I only wanted a face/head massage. Once he knew I wasn’t budging, he seemed disinterested and condescending... I had a pricey (average) massage.

Have been at Laluna for 5 days including a 5 days Ayurvedic treatment. At arrival we were welcomed by their staff and very kind owner, who was very interested in our backgrounds and treated us with a nice watermelon cocktail. As a surprise we received an upgrade to a big family room with a good working air-conditioning and loads of space. Basic but good rooms, providing in all your basic needs. In our case we wanted to escape our busy working lives for some days so for us it wasn’t a problem that there were now Hightech features or something like that. We discovered the place a bit to get to know the facilities and went to the Ayurvedic doctor straight away. He came up with a personal treatment plan and of we went for our first 2,5 hour massage. Evening dinner was good, nice staff, good views etc. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much. Laluna is an quite affordable Ayurvedic resort for us western people. Here and there it is up for an update or renevation but what do you want if you compare the price to many other facilities. We came to relax and enjoy the silence and peace from Sri-Lanka. Sometimes the noise of the water sports where a bit annoying but with that being a minor detail, we had a great stay overall. Hope to be able to get back in the future.

We spend 2 days in this hotel. The experience was nice. The location is really excellent (riverside). Wifi connection was intermittently available. Swimming pool is also ok. Food was was ok but need improvement. They did not promote their Ayurveda spa & massage offeres to us. The river ride was excellent, though the charges was on a higher side. Being a new year season, there were many boat having loud music in the night.
