I stayed one night at this hotel which promotes Ayurveda or indigenous medicine. Alas, the place is NOT meant for tourists, a hotel staffer said. Even the Ayurveda Massage Centre is only for foreigners.
Pathetic enough, there are no clients. The hotel is virtually empty. I saw only two
foreign guests. This is the result Easter Sunday massacres on April 21. Tourist arrivals have whittled down.
In the light of this, even food is restricted. For dinner, we were given a choice of
either grilled fish (baby tuna which was undoubtedly old) or fried chicken. The
only option offered was fried rice.Fish is abundant in this coastal southern town.
Breakfast was rationed - a few string hoppers, milk rice and fish pieces the size of a small postal stamp. Fruit drinks were all cordials like orange juice.Unless the service improved, it is not the ideal place for tourists. This property adjoins Shangri La Hotels with a golf course.
One is not wrong in saying that one gets marooned in this Oasis.
