Tree Of Life Nature Resort

Located slightly outside of Kandy, this resort is located in the midst of estate and surrounded by forests, the room was very well kept and bit small in space, the food and various facilities are really excellent, overall a beautiful experience

Set in extensive grounds with a pool, reception is before the main hotel area. Staff didn't appear to listen to what we ordered, so food was wasted. Very dated food style. Service was also quite slow. Breakfast & dinner are buffet. Rooms are dated but did have a/c, tv. bathroom did have a seperate shower but needs refurbishment.

We staying at this resort for 11 nights in Dec/Jan. We came direct from Columbo airport which I agree is a long journey but there was so much to see and our driver continually advised us of all the points of interest so the time passed very quickly. There is also a new highway being built now so this will cut down the journey. However, it was totally worth it. This place is amazing. You are away from all the hustle and bustle of Kandy, amongst beautiful flora and fauna in the hilly tea plantations covering 65 acres which are at your beck and call to explore. The sound of the birds in the morning is spectacular. People have complained about small lizards and mosquitoes, but what do you expect when you are at one with nature - just deal with it! I would thoroughly recommend this place, it is spotlessly clean, the homes bungalow where we stayed was extremely spacious, cleaned daily, with its own separate lounge with snooker table, dining area and garden. The food was plentiful, either buffet style or from set menus (varied) but either way it was delicious and accomodated all palates. The staff were extremely polite and attention to detail was incredible to ensure you stay was the best. The pool was cleaned daily, despite some reviews to the contrary, and this area was never over crowded with ample sun beds and towels provided. You are here to relax, away from TV's and hustle and bustle which is exactly what is given. There is a singer who plays background music at night whilst you sit and relax or you can play pool but dont expect other entertainment like shows as you will be disapoointed - but this is not what this resort is about. During the day, you can have guided walks to see the wonderful views, the tree or cinamon plantations or take a tour to nearby Kandy attractions which are very reasonable. You can enjoy massages etc with the health programme they run or just sit around the pool and relax. We were also given a guided tour of the cinamon plantation by the manager, free. We also spent New Years Eve here which again was a brillianttWe stayed at this hotel for 11 nights over the new year. The bungalow was extreamely spacious, kept spotlessly clean and had all the amenities needed for this fantastic relaxing holiday away from the busy town of Kandy. Whether in a group or a couple, the bungalow accommodates all needs with its own snooker table, dining area (you can eat there or with other guests in the main restaurant) lounge and large garden with sunbeds. It is quiet and away from other rooms. At one with Nature, this resort is ideal for walking or biking around, taking in the beautiful flora and fauna as well as the tea plantation which dates back to the colonial years. You can relax around the pool which was never over crowded and the service of the staff in every area is outstanding. The food was plentiful and of wide variety, sometimes a buffet and sometimes a set menu but either was always served by the efficient and courteous staff with attention to detail outstanding. This is a fabulous place to visit and we will definitely be returning for a longer visit. I cannot thank everyone at this resort for the fabulous memories which we will treasure forever. We also spent New Years Eve here and had a brilliant night. I cannot praise the staff and the resort enough, we had a fabulous holiday and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who wants a totally relaxing holiday. We will definitely be returning for a longer stay.

We were here on 16th November 2019 with family on FB basis.This was our 2nd visit here. It was raining and bit late (around 4pm) when we checked in on 16th. So the weather was bit chilly and loved every bit of it as it is situated away from hustle and bustle of the Kandy city. We booked two deluxe rooms and there were complimentary fruit baskets in each too. Rooms were very clean, and very comfortable with all the amenities. All meals were on buffet and they were really good with wide variety. Since our wedding anniversary fell on the same day the hotel staff even went ahead with surprising us with a cake and background music :) It was such a lovely experience. There is a kids play area too. We all had a really good time there. Thank you very much hotel tree of life.... We hope to come again.

Tree of life is true to its word in every aspect be it the rooms, dining, in room dining the quality of staff who treat all guests with utmost courtesy and warmth. Definitely value for money and a must go property when in Sri Lanka.

It was too cold to swim and we couldn’t go bird-watching since it had rained in the morning, so instead we went for a walk along the hotels pathway through the trees. I loved our room, it had hot water and an additional bed as requested.The hotel views were beautiful and relaxing and we even saw some monkeys! Restaurants are quite far away from the hotel.

My second visit this year. Primarily for birdwatching. Since its still raining could hear the birds but not so many good spottings as in July. Despite that was able to walk through many pathways and enjoyed it thoroughly. Got a few clicks too. The hotel itself is great. It's a pity that there were only a few guests and hence no buffet at breakfast. Having said that, I loved the sri lankan and continental breakfast combo I had. I wish the owners would revisit their marketing strategy so that more people can benefit from this gem

Very nice and quiet place, which was just what we needed after many days of travel. We are a family of 4. We would recommend that they alter their music to be more local or just let guests listen to the sounds of the jungle.

Don't expect to land in the lap of nature when you arrive.. as reality dawns with nature you get a very bad room with broken everything ..the food is ok and so are some of the staff but overall a mismanaged place which should be avoided if you can . Find something better in the heart of kandy instead of this ! Trust me ..!

What an amazing Hotel located high up in the hills of Kandy. Amazing birds and wild life ...nearly stood on a large snake... clean spacious rooms with friendly helpful staff. Swimming pool awesome as well. Hardly any tourists apart from our family staying because of the recent bombing,good for us bad for the friendly people of Sr Lanka. Highly recommended.

Really like room view and privacy. And also traditional Sri Lankan breakfast we really enjoyed. Food and beverage service great ( really care ) Customer care should improve more and more. From front office and housekeeping Need more care and attention for the honeymoon couples. What I expected as a honeymooners didn’t get it

The road climbed high out of Kandy to reach this lovely hotel, set in beautiful grounds. Lovely pool by the restaurant. The views from the balcony were breathtaking. Very spacious, comfortable room. The staff were lovely and could not have been more helpful. Fabulous restaurant with an excellent buffet dinner. On-site spa where I had a wonderful foot massage. I wish we could have stayed longer!

The food was amazing. The staff were friendly and the location was superb. There were the most beautiful plants and trees all around. Lots of wildlife about and every window of the hotel had a magnificent view. The swimming pool was excellent. Heavenly all round!

Many people has mixed reviews but would suggest if you love nature you would love as you are close to nature as you open windows you would only see greenery..Nice pool and spread of breakfast...it has good option for vegetarians too...Its far from city you should have vehicle to reach here..Rooms are of old type but well maintained..if you like wooden structure you should stay here..
