A few years ago I went with my son Filip to London where he was going to study his second year at high school. I saw it as an opportunity to further my education in the health industry and explored London's fitness offerings. Decided to try Barre and fell head over heels! As a former handball and soccer player, I arrived somewhat skeptical at my first class. I had read that it was a mix of ballet, pilates and yoga. When the smiling and very graceful ballerina arrived I thought with my stiff football boots "thank god there's a pole to hold on to!" It was then and there that I fell in love with Barre. Regardless of prior knowledge, I could work just as hard as I wanted. There were a lot of muscles I didn't know I had. Well, I've read about them in my anatomy studies at GIH (gymnastics and sports college) but apparently never used them. Quite quickly I could both see and feel a result. Strength, balance and elegance. When the year in London was over, I went to New York and trained for a summer with, among others, other Fred Devito who is CO-Founder at Core Barre. One sunny late summer day when I was walking home from a barre class at 5th AV, I decided to take Barre to Sweden and Stockholm. So here we are now! Do like me, come and try it. The training is varied and challenging so you won't get bored and remember, there is always a bar to hold on to! Meet us at the barre!
